[RiverClan] mending a broken heart [ dusklion love finder re-do! ]

i threw up a finder for this awhile ago buuuuut things have changed, plots have been plotted, and i figured it was about time to re-do it and actually pick a few other cats! plus, i've finally settled on dusk's identity as a bisexual feral racoon, so now it's open to multiple genders! make sure to read all of this; there's a lot of key information!

so welcome to dusklion's love finder, take two!

[ for this who have already applied and were accepted in the last finder or on discord (mistyshard, cinderflare, applebees, smudge), no need to apply again unless you want to change their desired role! ]

essentially what i am looking for is to test the dynamics of her with others. however this won't just be for her future mate - because a plot is currently underway where dusklion gets her heart shattered due to her current crush ending up with her brother (gasp!). this will cause the deputy to shut down for a little while and instead become somewhat of a "play-the-field" type. for this i will be looking for 2-3 cats that dusk can have non-serious flings with:

- riverclan / atari members (depending on plot development, dusk may not be at the "play the field" stage during exile so i may not choose any outsiders!)
- young to middle-aged warriors (i've realized i'm not all that focused on specifics moons so long as they're not, like, super young skjdfhsd)
- confident in some way; dusk is drawn to this as well as recklessness
- they will likely not end up together; dusk will detach herself if she feels the cat developing actual feelings
- dusk will constantly flirt with them / use them to make her current crush jealous!

now for her main love interest and eventual mate. i've got a few cats on my list that i'm currently testing dynamics with, but wanted to spread this net again and select a few others. for this cat, the same rules above apply, in addition to:

- thick skin: it is preferred this cat doesn't break easily, or get upset with dusk when it takes her awhile to get over her first heartbreak.
- if they are an outsider / atari member, they must join riverclan!
- active !!! this is very important; i would prefer that dusk only has one major heartbreak!
- as much as i love polycules, dusk is a very jealous type and would not do well in them unfortunately ;w;
- a cat able to see through the charade that dusk puts on to a cat who just wants to be accepted and loved deep down <3

that's about it! unfortunately i won't be able to select everyone, and if it doesn't seem like they'll click i likely won't accept. but keep in mind if they're not selected for this, i'm open to dusk having friends! she's a rather prickly cat though, very opinionated and often speaks without thinking, so any friends would kind of have to understand that heh.

About

Antlerbranch is a 31 moon RiverClan tom, who was made to become a potential mate for Wisteriawren!! You know how thats gonna end up lmao. He, like dusk, is going to be heartbroken as this is his second major heartbreak [the first happened in his backstory], and I am applying him to become the eventual mate for Dusklion!!

Basic Plot Idea

So Antler and Dusk both get their heart broken by Wisteria, and after dusk has a few flings she ends up with Antler, who also got with her just to make wisteria jealous, like dusk was doing. Over time, instead of making wisteria jealous they bond over their similarities and how they both fell for wisteria, and end up falling for each other, also helping the other get over their former crush, and end up mates

the stars at night, unable to think of her previous
mate up there, only the fur pressed against hers
and the warmth beside her. She didn't want love.
But she got it anyway. The Ace of Spades had
Fallen for another all over again. And this time there
Was no going back, no chance to say no. Her maw
Parts in an attempt to speak three words, but the
Pain they can cause holds her back. The pain she's
Felt already holds her back. But icy blue eyes, so
Riveting, draw her somewhere she doesn't want to

♤ Then why do I want it?

 

It's simple. She doesn't want it. Goldfish has everything
She needs. Kits. A best friend. A clan. But so quickly
Can friendship quirk into something more, something
Beautiful and frightening. Something most long for.

Goldfish refuses to show romantic affection to Dusks.
She won't step out of the expected lines, she won't put
A paw somewhere it probably doesn't belong. The chance
Of heartbreak is too high. instead, she finds comfort in
Her clan, confidence, energy, and dedication never wavering.
Ignorant to love, she tries to keep things friendly. But love
Is stronger than that. Something much more powerful.

Dusklion wants it.

Goldfish wants it.

But the Ace of Spades doesn't know if she can take it.

Jokes. Flirting. Teasing. Playing. Goldfish is skilled with the art
Of almost all of these. She’s never been a flirty one… on purpose
At least. It begins with interactions. Friendship. Goldfish is content
With it. She enjoys Dusklion’s company. A solid slow burn and a
Confession. Goldfish isn’t sure what to think of it; think of loving
Again. Those three glorious words burst out as her answer, and it
Comes to her that this… Being mates… This makes Dusklion…

♤ Why can’t she?

 

Two Broken Hearts. One Heartbreaker dead, the other living
beside them. Neither of them want a long term affair. The Ace
of Spades feels empathetic. She uses her practiced social skills
to hide her sympathy. Why? Because heck, who wants their clan
To feel sorry for them? A venting talk on both sides about the
Loved ones lost- although one still alive- makes them feel a bit
More steady in their actions. A bit more steady emotionally. It
Helps, to have a talk sometimes. The blooming friendship may
seem like it's love already, but at first neither molly wants.... this.
Something like love. They're healing. Mending. They're bonding
Over friendship and losses. But then again, neither cat as far as
I'm aware are exactly serious. Ohhhhh no. Playing around and
Goofing off are sort of hard to avoid when you have two cats that
Both enjoy it. The Ace of Spades hasn't done this in too long. It's
Been too long since she had the time and felt like she was free
To mess around like their responsibilities and pain never even
happened In the first place.

♤ It feels good to be alive

 

The Ace of Spades has an odd personality. She bottles up her
Feelings into darkness and they slowly come out in her day to
Day life. She could be hunting, recall something she bottled up,
And suddenly exert ferocious energy into her hunt, sometimes
Losing the tortie her kill. But one emotion had escaped, and the
Relief that causes her makes Goldfish really pleased. This can
Make her remove another bottled up emotion. The reason she
Bottles up her emotions are because of her empathetic nature.
She practices her social skills so she can better understand and
Help those around her in the most energy exerting way. Why? It
See Golddish can't sit still. For long, anyways. She may start to
Twitch and shift after a solid 20 minutes of attempting a nap.
She relies on the 6 hours she gets (Half of the normal cat amount)
At night before springing up again ready to work. She enjoys
Morning hunts and has severe insomnia. Be warned, her energy
Never wavers, and when she feels she's in a safe place to express
Herself she shows her playful, sarcastic, eager side. It's in there,
But it takes the right cats around her to show it.

I can imagine a little Jealousy from Dusks way with how much time Goldfish spends with Jayfrost. But it'd be silly because he's gay lmao so no romance there.

I forsee a heartfelt talk about things they've lost, and when they both recognize their feelings for one another. Unsure of Dusklions reaction and angry she's loving Again so soon, she leaves. The next day she'll desperately apologize, feeling guilty.

a light-brown she-cat with white ears, paws, and belly. the tip of her tail is also white. her fur is striped with darker brown and her eyes are green.

fallow is one of the sweetest cats in the world. she's very quiet, but gets talkative when with cats she loves or when she's asked about her interests. she's been a member of riverclan since birth, but she had a traumatic kithood and cannot remember her parents. she doesn't want to know.
fallow has obsessive-compulsive disorder. this manifests in her being very worried about the ones she spends her time with and loves, to the point where she can spiral into believing that her loved ones are in trouble when they are really not. she keeps it under control when she can, but when she spirals she removes herself from the situation to make sure no-one knows she gets bad. her compulsions drive her to count things over and over again, draw the same patterns into dirt over and over again, and repeat words and phrases over and over again. she believes this will keep her loved ones safe.
role of choice is eventual mate. why would they work together, you may be asking? fallow is incredibly supportive. she would make sure dusk doesn't work herself too hard. if it wasn't obvious already, she is a huge empath. she feels for everyone and is extremely caring and sweet, which means she will always be there for dusk. she would be able to notice when dusk was feeling bad, even if she didn't say it, and she'd help her out in every way she possibly could. she would know how to break down dusk's walls if she sensed she wanted a relationship, because she is pretty apt at recognizing emotions. she would absolutely be standing up for dusklion whatever she wanted or needed.

okay so hear me out, i wasn't originally gonna post but stag is just the type of guy that if ANYONE flirts with him - even casually - it'll either go way over his head or he'll be super flustered. so not necessarily adding him here as a genuine crush/love interest for dusk (unless you think otherwise xD) but i think any possible interactions would be fun as she rebounds LOL. okay anyway here it is:

role wanted- perhaps one of dusk's casual flirts as she explores 'playing the field' or whatevah. can literally be as unserious as you want (i.e. wouldn't even have to count for your 2-3 because maybe they only have like one or two interactions or something?? hehe totally leaving that up to you if you pick him o7)
plot ideas (if any)- like i said, stag will become incredibly confused and flustered if he picks up on dusk flirting with him, which i can see as an endearing back-and-forth going on. he might be oblivious or doubtful at first that any cat would even find him nice enough to compliment, let alone the clan's deputy. and, despite dusk being younger than him, he always looks up to his deputies/leaders so he holds incredible respect and admiration for dusk for being loyal and sympathized/vouched with her with the whole fallownose thing. they also have sorta similar personalities (he's just way more coolheaded than her when it comes to thinking/taking action) and he's more than capable of taking/delivering some sass. also uber-loyal like her, just wants the best for the clan and will do just about anything for it. including all those details to show what kinda interesting conversations they may have. if she'd ask him to do anything to help (border patrol, hunting, herbs, scouting, WHATEVER) he'd be right there to do it, which might leave room for some sorta interaction.

Redpaw stalked through the dark, silence cloaking the clearing. Her pupils dilated with interest when she saw a small lump lying on the forest floor… that’s when she realized… it wasn’t a lump. It was a body. She sniffed the air and approached the body carefully… and realized with a gasp. It wasn’t just any cat. It was…Her brother’s body. “Finpaw? Finpaw!”

INTRODUCTION
Hello @/taillow! I’m @/constellation, and I’ve got a cat for you. Her name is Redwater. You’ve interacted with her a few times, and Dusklion and her haven’t really been… the closest. Or even close. At all. Red’s old personality, one of sass and anger and bossiness, is pretty much gone now, though! It’s been replaced by a huge amount of sadness—oops! I hope you enjoy reading this application, I spent a lot of time on it!

WHO IS SHE

Redwater is a pan female of 20 moons. She ages every month on the 7th, her nickname is Red. Her favorite things are:
- fishing
-fighting (see more later)
- eating trout
- being alone
Or at least… they were. After falling for Dusklion, Red’s dark heart slowly softened… like butter left outside.

THE ROLE

I want red to be a main love interest/real crush. Red’s never had any mates/crushes before, and barely even any friends and I would like to have her in love plots of some sort. She’s recently started blaming herself for everything, like the murder of her brother, the disappearance of her best friends, and the death of her mother when Red was born.

RIVERCLAN

Redwater is a RiverClan cat, and has mostly RiverClan relatives. Not that she has many of those. Red has almost no friends, and the only family she has left is her siblings. She did have Willowheart and Fadedshade; but they left RiverClan after a huge fight with Red. Redwater blames herself for them not coming back.

Red’s brother, Finpaw was murdered by some cat during his apprenticeship. Red blames WindClan for his death and has been hostile towards the rabbit-eating cats since then.

PERSONALITY

Redwater was a bossy, sassy, full-of-herself jerk cat for moons after she hit her warrior name. She was snarky, and didn’t obey anyone. She even loved fighting, and was really good! In trianing.

Red’s terrible attitude lessened a bit after that, but she was still hard to manage. Until the RiverClan exile began. Redwater was mauled by a WindClan Tom, so badly she was weakened. Redwater vowed to never fight again, unless she had to. She began spiraling into a pit of despair, her annoying self lost and a new sad, anxious Redwater emerging.

Wait… Redwater and Dusklion?!?

Yes. I’m as surprised as you. Red and Dusklion have had their disagreements, which makes these plots EVEN MORE FUN. I think. Who knows, really.

When It Starts To Emerge

I was thinking Red and Dusk could talk about how Redwater was so sad during the exile. Red will spill all the things—like her friends’ disappearance the death of Finpaw, her mother’s death and how she’d been beaten by that WindClan cat. Dusklion might tell her that Red can always come to Dusklion when she needs to talk to anycat. And red feels so grateful. So, so grateful.

When They Realize

Redwater begins to become a little bit softer, and tries to interact with Dusklion more and more. Dusklion returns this favor, and they end up spending a lot of time together. Redwater has some feelings she’d never felt before… and she likes them.

HOW WOULD I ROLE-PLAY

Redwater padded up to Dusklion, anxiety making her heart pound. I hope she doesn’t decline… Redwater gulped… Dusklion was amazing. Redwater was practically a worm compared to her. “H-hey Dusklion! Want to… go hunting?” internal face-slap. That sounded meek.

Conclusion

As you can see, Red’s a hopelessly confusing cat, even I can’t decide whether or not Red is angry, sad, etc. I hope she’s picked! Thank you for reading
