RC Camp Defense Event - Open to apps + up

With the way that RiverClan's relations with WindClan had deteriorated, Fadingsun figured it would be a good time to practice some camp defense. It wasn't clear how WindClan intended to seek retribution for RiverClan's actions, but a camp invasion couldn't be entirely ruled out. It's what he would do if he were in Twilightstar's position.

Leaping onto the Floodstone, he called, "RiverClan! There's a good possibility that WindClan will attack us in the coming moons. We need to be prepared for any situation, including the possibility that they might invade our camp. We have no way of knowing how they're going to try to attack us, or whether they ever will, but we'd be wrong to sit here and do nothing to prepare. Today, we'll be practicing defending this camp. Apprentices, even if you don't have battle training, you're welcome to join in. There's plenty you can learn here."

Duskleaf was already pretty sure that a war would break out in the moons to come. First he'd seen the three dead RiverClan cats who'd trespassed on a WindClan meeting, then Dusklion killed the WindClan deputy, now apparently some warriors had tortured a WindClan apprentice, which he didn’t hear at the gathering because he spent most of that arguing with a ThunderClan cat claiming to be his sister, so he heard it at a clan meeting. For that last one, he wished he knew which cats had done that, but the point was WindClan was enraged. So when Fadingsun called for a practice of camp defence, it made sense. Duskleaf made his way over to the Floodstone, and sat down in front of it, waiting to be assigned to a certain task for the defence.

Well, well. Padding forward at the call of her brother - did he really have to get onto the Floodstone to announce this? - Dusklion dropped her gaze and instead surveyed the cats already gathering. Part of her wondered if he'd say anything about possible evacuation plans like she had suggested in his den, but nope. This would just be defense. With how angry Twilightstar had been though, and how clearly she had called for their blood, the deputy worried about the longevity of them remaining in this camp. She would fight to defend it, but this was her fault - and she didn't want the lives of her Clanmates in the danger they were now in any more than necessary because of it.

But that could be something else for another day. Instead the deputy would pad over to sit near the growing around, waiting for her brother to speak next about what they would be doing.

Defense? What was the point of defense if the clan deserved what was coming to them? Eaglepaw hovered at the edge of the crowd, somehow managing to make herself seem as small as possible. If WindClan really did attack, then odds were they would be as screwed as they were when ThunderClan did.

But maybe... maybe they didn't have to be. Clearly the clans valued shows of strength, and if RiverClan was able to beat back another clan, maybe they would see that RiverClan was on its way up. Or, at least that was what she would have liked to believe. She wasn't stupid enough to hope.

But she might as well join. It was better than sitting in the apprentice den and moping!

When Irisfrost saw Fadingsun leap onto the Floodstone, at first she thought he was hosting a clan meeting. But it wasn't the traditional call that came out of his mouth. No, he was hosting an event to practise defending the camp. It was a good idea; there were plenty of opportunities to spar, but a full run-through of what to do if WindClan attacked them would be useful. Irisfrost padded over to sit beneath the Floodstone, waiting for her leader's instructions.
