It was RiverClan's final night in the mountains. Tomorrow, they'd leave and start the three-day trek back to their rightful home. Fadingstar had spent the past couple of hours trying to sleep, to no avail. A mixture of apprehension and excitement was going to keep him awake tonight whether he liked it or not.

If he was to be awake, he might as well be productive.

As he emerged from his den, he scanned the camp, looking for someone to hunt with. Very few cats were around, aside from those guarding the camp.

Redmire hated it here. It was foreign, rocky, rugged, DRY - nothing like the wetlands she'd long become accustomed to. She was stuck here with cats she hated and still-aching injuries as a result of the actions of her priors. This all could have been prevented if cats had been smarter; if leaders had been more responsible.

She drew her tongue over her cracked pawpads in an attempt to soothe the sting. Movement caught her eye, and she glanced up from her spot near the back edge of the camp - only for her expression to visibly sour when she saw who it was. Ugh, amazing. So few cats in camp right now and she was disgraced with this one's presence.

When his eyes turned on her, she flattened her ears and didn't bother to hide her disdain. "What do you want?"
