If two warriors couldn't teach him how to overcome the challenges of water, he didn't know what would. Although he couldn't recall healing any broken bones in his lifetime, he considered that Beanpaw could be speaking more generally about the medicine cat duties... but to his knowledge, Otterstone hadn't healed any broken bones either. Yikes. "Uhh..." Claws.. Fawnsqueak didn't know much about those but peered at what he'd be looking at, only to find there were no claws. None at all. "When you said claws," a short puff laugh escaped him, "I thought you meant, like, a broken one or something."

Yeah, he was going to call this unfixable. "Does it hurt?" he asked, just as a precaution but already imagined the answer would be no -- he'd seen similar situations before, they didn't seem painful. "Look, there's probably not a herb that's going to... grow claws for you?" he phrased awkwardly since it was a bit of a mystery how that worked. "But I don't really think you need it, either. I mean, you're smart and eager and honestly, you don't need claws if you have that. It's more like... living on hard mode. Since y'know, you can still do everything but you're going to have to be innovative sometimes."

Beanpaw had found Fawnsqueak’s joke a bit funny, and let out a small laugh despite his situation. Swimming lessons had gone over relatively well. He was still clueless as to why the cat before him had left that day, but that wasn’t the apprentice’s concern at the moment. "Um, uh, yeah. No. I, mm, they were taken from me..." He managed to stammer, getting flustered. He should’ve specified that, why didn’t he? It’s not like the cats here read minds or had powers, that was dumb. How else would Fawnsqueak have known?

He was glad Fawnsqueak seemed surprised. At least Grizz hadn’t told anyone about his... shortcoming.

"It took awhile to get used to it, but it doesn’t hurt too much now." Beanpaw was reminded of how he had to learn to walk the way he did, without claws to help evenly distribute the weight of his paws. Now, he did it without thinking. It was just walking, he didn’t think much of it. The siamese nodded slowly, downhearted. He’d known it was a long shot, of course no plant could grow claws for him. He heard what Fawnsqueak said, it was basically what he’d told himself. But it was challenging. "I — okay. It’s hard. I really didn’t think it would matter this much, but it does. I hoped something would help, but I shoulda known." With a sigh, he began to exit. "Thanks — for everything, I mean. There might not be any herbs to help but I guess I’ll keep trying." He wanted to be a warrior more than anything else. There were no other options, anyway. Beanpaw would just trudge on and try to make do with what he had in order to earn his name.

The tortoiseshell queen walked in quietly with her head hung down for a minute as if her head weighed a ton and slowly lifted, yellow eyes glided over to Otterstone and Fawnsqueak. They seem very busy. Not wanting to intrude at all.. "Hello, Otterstone and Fawnsqueak," she greeted happily even though her voice sounded hoarse. "I don't feel so well..hope it ain't what I think it is." Sugarapple coughed.

It certainly seemed as if Goosefury was making the trip to the medicine a lot these days. He felt a twinge of anxiety as he poked his head in - hopefully Otterstone and Fawnsqueak wouldn't be too weirded out by his constant visits. "Uh, hey, I'm just here to ask for some poppy seeds, if you have them. My wounds are aching a bit." They'd healed a while ago, finishing with hideous scars, but occasionally they would hurt. Usually he pushed through it, but this bout of aches was worst than the rest.

The tom sighed, and looked over to one of the walls of the den. "Well you've got a ways to go." he began, narrowing his eyes as she got closer. "Hard to start from the bottom again." He had mixed feelings about Otterstone, on one Paw, she was a decent Medicine Cat, on the other she was a neglectful Medicine Cat. She didn't finish his last check up, left him forgotten in the den as she tended to the other patients. That was just his check up. He had little hope for this one. 'It wasn't a compliment.' he thought to himself with a heavy sigh.

Shifting his weight Gentlethunder winced as she peeled off the cobwebs that were caked to his wounds. He watched as she walked off...maybe getting more cobwebs? Or just straight up leaving him. Frankly he had no clue. What she said itched at him. "You shouldn't have to start doing well after you've been criticized and mocked." he stated, "And please, for the love of Starclan, do better than well. Do better than your best. Don't half ass anything anymore, it's the least your clanmates deserve." he huffed. Sure, the Warrior really didn't like her...at all right now that is. But he didn't hate her, she was his clanmate. "Don't hide either you dimwit. What are you? A Shadowclanner? If you're doing what you say you're doing than let them notice you dumbass. Let them see the progress you're making. he barked, taking a sharp intake of breath after raising his voice. Curling slightly into himself. Stomach still felt as though it was on fire.

She brought back a part of a mushroom. Just in case. His injures still hurt him and the disinfectant properties would be good for him. She bit her lip, lip twitching as he lectured her. She worked as she listened to him, fibering the mushroom apart before laying it over his injures. He huffed out a sharp laugh. Gentlethunder was right. She was basically starting over, and maybe thats what she needed. The clan hated her so much.... but if she could show them her best...

Her voice was bittersweet. "You're probably right. My emotions seem to be getting the better of me for a while. I haven't really been sleeping." But her paws were steady as she worked. "You're good Gentlethunder. I apolagize for taking so long getting the herbs." She meowed, taking a step back from the big tom.

"Hello Sugarapple!" She padded over to the queen, frowning slightly as she heard the rasp in her chest and voice. "Not feeling well I see? Come, come, sit over in this nest, I'll see what's going on." She lead the tortoiseshell over to a small nest.

Otterstone padded over to Goosefury. "Hello, friend. I apolagize. We don't have any poppy seeds. I don't have anything to offer you, I apolagize." She dipped her head slightly.

His ears twitched, conveying his slight disappointment. It seemed like RiverClan was always low on herbs. "I could go get some for you," he offered. "That and whatever else you need. I... don't really have anything batter to do, so it wouldn't be any trouble at all." He was actually looking for a reason to get out of camp. Maybe he'd bring Sunpaw along with him - he hadn't really gotten a chance to talk to his apprentice, so now would be the perfect chance.

A small smile spread across Otterstone's maw. "That would be amazing. Take someone else with you, I wouldn't want you getting hurt out there, getting into a bad situation." She knew Goosefury was a warrior and didn't need coddling, and that's not what she was trying to do, but it was important to her he stayed safe. "Pick any flowers, any berries. Poppies are small flowers, but with wide red petals. The seeds are tiny and black in the center of the flower." She nodded.


"And like I said any flowers would be good."

Goosefury couldn't help but smile back at her. "Flowers and berries," he echoed. "Got it. I'll be back soon." With a flick of his tail he slipped out of the den, repeating her instructions over in his mind so he wouldn't forget.

"Y-yes," feeling a tad nervous her eyes glanced at the solid dirt walls and organized piled of sectioned herbs. A gulp satisfied her dry mouth for only seconds before it turned scratchy again, clearing the back of the throat. Sugarapple sat down at the nest Otterstone guided her too and stood up straight so she can check up on her. "It's been..happenin' for a couple of days. I thought it'd get better but- ," she coughed loudly shaking up her lungs, a shiver sent down her spine feeling the burning sensation again. "Ack. I just feel awful.."
