Re: RiverClan Territory
// @gs29513 | @The Ink Demon | @Middy
Brightpaw took to Twig’s enthusiasm like a moth to flame. It was nice to, ya know, forget the weight of his little secret for a second and just enjoy someone’s company! Twigpaw seemed nice. Maybe new friendships would come of this training double date, and maybe Brightpaw could introduce said new friends to Frostpaw later! Who knew?
Ashpool and Creekflow got on well too, as far as he could tell, which was great. Bright grinned at the way his mentor framed their excursion. It was like they were teaming up to face the forest, or something; it made everything a little more fun to think of the trip that way. The younger tom also liked how Creekflow offered reassurances to Ash that weren’t too pointed. It was just nice of him. Brightpaw couldn’t help but feel lucky—and a tiny bit guilty, under it all—that he ended up with the mentor he did.
Bright’s pelt warmed when Creek eyed him. Stars, was he that obvious!? Did he have ‘secret’ written on his forehead!? Thank StarClan no comments were made. Just think about right now. The trip. Teaming up against the forest! Brightpaw shook off his nervousness, trying for a smile instead when he felt the soft pressure of Creekflow’s tail. “Twigpaw—I hear Lionsbeach is awesome! You wanna see it too?”

Lotusheart nodded and followed quickly. She wasn't quite sure what had happened to him but she was glad he ate.

Re: RiverClan Territory
Twigpaw had been dancing along fairly obliviously to any of Brightpaw's occasional little nervous.....things, just enjoying the outsideness. Outside of camp was so big, and bright. Like Brightpaw! Not really caring if it was a little awkward, he purred The territory is like you! So big and bright and cool! Like your name!
At the suggestion of Lionsbeach, he was first excited and then scared. Where there LIONS on the beach? Did they have to fight them? He REALLY didn't want to get eaten on his first trip out in the territory after all! Getting eaten was NOT on his bucket list. Are there LIONS there? Are they going to eat us? he asked nervously, his fur spiking a bit just saying it. @ Redtalon @ The Ink Demon @ Middy

Re: RiverClan Territory
[ shush, you. ]
Well, it was a relief that he wasn't too bothered at least. "Lionsrange..." Plumpaw lets her voice peter out into nothing as she contemplates. "That's where SkyClan used to be." She had only heard tell tales of the place, but Lionstar had taken it into his own services when they went under. It was sad, somewhat. But the apprentice didn't hurt over it in the slightest. And she was fine with ignoring that part of the territory for the time being.
"As long as I can get my eyes on a few sights and places, then I'll be better off." Walking alongside the leader of RiverClan felt surreal, and while the silver she-cat wasn't enthralled or anything, she did try to behave a little more proper. He probably wouldn't stand for mouthiness or gloom. Gazing around now, Plumpaw allows her attention to sway more towards where they were walking. The ground under her paws, the grass rising around them, the skyline. It had remained very open, with trees only really breaking her line of sight far off to the right-ish.
"I keep thinking of all these reasons why being in a new place sucks."
She speaks abruptly and unintentionally, but doesn't attempt to apologize for it. Instead, the apprentice becomes a little bit thoughtful. "But I told you that no one paid much mind to me in ThunderClan, and here I am now, avoiding the helping paws I've been given. Now you're here- Not that I mind. Everyone could use a mental break from what they're dealing with."
Looking sideways at the older tom, she permits a sly smirk. "Is it easier to walk an apprentice than to lead a Clan?"
Plumpaw wasn't sure where his boundaries were for those who didn't know him well enough, but she'd probably been testing them. So, she decides not to push it too hard. After a little while of some quiet from her end, the molly lifts her nose and sniffs. They were by WindClan. Was he looking to say so himself, or was it going to be a test? Being near WindClan meant that ThunderClan was behind them, and if she'd stopped to turn, it would be ahead of her to the left-ish. In her mind, once these facts had been established, it was easier to see the territory.
"So the moors are over the river on this side, aren't they. Ground's wet, and the river's wider."

Re: RiverClan Territory
Spottedpaw paddedout to go hunting for the elders. She sniffed the air "MOUSE!"she muttered under her breath she dropped into a hunters crouch and pounced on it killing it with a killing bite. She then dug it and dropped it into a hole. She sniffed the air agian "Rabbit..." she muttered under her breath going into a hunters crouch and pouncing on it as it escaped her paws and she ran after it an caught it killing it. She dug another hole and dropped it into the hole. She ran through the trees after hearing a vole. she killed it then gathered the prey she caught and brought it back to the camp.

Primrosepaw only nodded. In reality, she didn't care much about the fish catching part-- but rather about the falling in part. She hadn't been that afraid in.. Ever. Silently, she simply followed Silversong back to camp.

Re: RiverClan Territory
"Yes.. when SkyClan existed, it claimed the mountainous lands beyond Seastones. There was another faction there, the Dusk Suckers," or something like that, "but they've been gone for far longer." Ancient history now, as far as he was concerned. "Our territory used to be far smaller, but I've pushed for expansions to ensure our Clan will remain fed. We've gotten.. huge in the past, and even if our numbers waver down, they always pick up again."
The beach, SkyClan's land, all of this was due to Lionstar's push for more. Lionsgrove had also been an expansion, though to ruffle Icebrain's feathers he returned it after kicking her hide. He kind of missed her sometimes.
"Well.. avoiding paws or not, at least you know there's cats willing to help you." Based on what she had said about ThunderClan, they seemed like a burning wreckage. Buckyboy was probably trying to improve things but he couldn't heal the damage personally done to some cats. "Oh, most definitely. Leading a Clan.. takes a lot of time, it makes it hard to get out or make more personal relationships." And he was tired, so tired. He was beginning to see why Fallenstream was such a bad leader. It was hard.. draining, hard to keep up with. And Lionstar had made things harder by improving how the Clan ran.
"This is Sedgewater Valley, our border with WindClan." Lionstar stopped not far from the bank to give her an opportunity to look around. "The sedges around here die off once you cross over the river, and goes more into the moor." His muzzle twisted into a thin smile. "You'll notice a lot of the ground around here will be wet, especially once we get closer to Saltmeadow Marsh - our border with ShadowClan."

Re: RiverClan Territory
[ @ Larkstripe; ]
Tinypaw watched very closely to see how he did it. Once he caught the fish the apprentice starred in awe. Now he really wanted to try it. The small tom padded next to Larkstripe and looked right into the warrior. He sat there, waiting for one to appear to him. When one didn't he waded into the freezing water, but he didn't care. Tinypaw wadded farther out until he found one. He pushed it towards the trap with his paws. It went into the same place to hide, but he went right under and grabbed it with his paws. The young tom kept his claws in and gave it a killing bite. Tinypaw took it and got back up onto the bank. He placed it down. It was smaller than the warriors, but he caught it. That was all that mattered.

Re: RiverClan Territory
[ @ wnder; ]
Cottonstrike felt a little nervous. He wasn't quite sure if she liked him or not. he wasn't really used to a quiet apprentice. Echopaw had been talkative even if he didn't get what she was saying because of his deafness. "The first step to fishing is to make sure your shadow doesn't scare the fish, so it's best to move away from the sun.", he meowed. Cottonstrike gave his apprentice a few moments to register it. "Fish are often slippery and very tricky You need to be smarter than them, so by doing that you want to trick them. Their fast, so you need to be faster.", he added. Cottonstrike tried his best to not sound nervous.
The deaf tom gave his left ear a quick flicker. "A fish often will hide for cover when it's startled, so we need to try and trap it. They often get stuck between rocks, so that's one of the best places to stop them.", Cottonstrike finished.
