Apparently, a tom was addressing her. Swanberry wasn't really in the mood for chatting, she just wanted to do what she had to do then get the heck out. But it would be rude not to respond, even if she truly wanted to snap at him, she eased out her tone. "I'm fine." She said hastily. She was never a good liar, no matter how hard she tried.
Looked like dens were being destroyed now, but kits where still left behind. Even if her goal was to watch over injured apprentices, she couldn't just leave the kits. Galloping over to them, Swanberry plastered a smile onto her face.
"Hey kitto, aren't you brave? Sticking out here like this? Let's get you home, kay?" Her own voice trembled as she picked up Aspenkit and held him tight and secure in her jaws. "I'm Swfanbwerry. I alrffyady knoffwh your namesh, no neff to 'ell me." She still continued mewing despite how her words got drowned out through thin fur. She'd have to come back through. A few select bodies still weren't resting with Riverclan. One of which being her now dead mate.

"im okay root, 's just a scratch" he gave rootpaw a small smile, the pain wasnt important for now, he had survived worse and now he had to ensure rootpaw and mistyshard made it out of camp safely. steel blue eyes watched as the herbalist worked, jayfrost didnt know much of anything about medicine but something in the way mistyshard turned to willowpaw to break the news had told him it was over for the queen before any words could. he swallowed, hard, subconciously pulling his apprentice even closer. where was honeypaw? "anything misty." he assured the herbalist again, and he meant it. another brief glance at rootpaw before the warrior was hoisting the corpse onto his back and leaning down to pick up the stillborn. he tried to focus on the present and future, on rootpaw and honeypaw and following mistyshard out of camp but damn was it hard when you are holding a slick, limp and rapidly cooling kit between your jaws.

It seems like so many cats had already left, with a select few still fighting. Antlerbranch's head hurt massively, and he didn't feel like standing around to wait and escort an injured cat. Hell, he was an injured cat! With that, the tom took one last look at his destroyed camp, and ran, trailing behind the rest of his clan.

The little tom hiccuped and whined, silencing his cries for a moment as he stepped a bit closer to the apprentice. Watery blues shifted to his sister– Lionkit, and he gave a nervous nod to the apprentice, signifying that he would be going with her.
“Maybe our sisters are together and someone else brought them away with the others.. If we go, we might be able to find them. Easier and safer than here..” His voice was shaky as he explained his own perspective, gaming at his sister with pleading eyes before he clambered up and onto Wrenpaw's back.
There was Stagskull, and Briarsplash. Dawnstar checked them over with minor concern gleaming in her amber eyes. Both warriors didn't look too bad. They could wait to get treated when they got home. Darkcloud arrived next, she had a bloody muzzle, but was faring well otherwise. Tuftedtusk was the next to arrive, he looked a bit more beat up, but upbeat and ready for more work. His comment brought an amused sneer to her face. The Clan leader reminded herself to keep a closer eye on him. He's done rather well these past sunrises and could always use fresh blood for her Enforcers and Guards, she supposed she should watch Honeybite too.
At the arrival of the tiny, green-eyed, tortie, Dawnstar got up and padded over to sniff at Willowpaw, she wasn't sporting any major injuries and looked alright for her first big battle. She appeared tired and shaken, but most apprentices were after going to war.
Her tattered ears swerved at Honeybite's approach. They had some scratches and looked a bit roughed up, but nothing more. Rasberryswirl showed up, immediately going to Willowpaw. Dawnstar stepped back after seeing that Rasberryswirl had the same minor injuries as the other cats here. The same thought was running through Dawnstar's head, but she didn't voice it just yet.
Squirrelpaw's arrival was greeted much the same as Willowpaw's, with some cautionary sniffs along the apprentice's pelt and glances at the molly's injuries. They were all rather minor, or well minor in Dawnstar's book. Again, Squirrelpaw appeared as rattled as Willowpaw, but fighting in an actual battle was always quite an experience for the apprentices.
Doeflame and Bristlethorn appeared one after the other. There was nothing major to note about their injuries, scratches looked to be the worst of them. As more cats left, Dawnstar spotted her daughter's scarred gray pelt across the battlefield. She had Rookpaw with her. Even from here, Dawnstar could see the bright red soaking the dark blue-gray pelt of the apprentice. It didn't look great. Yellowtwist was bleeding nearby, but didn't look too bad.
Mossfreckle was hovering over Fogwatcher, and although Dawnstar couldn't tell what was wrong with the warrior from here, she wouldn't worry since Mossfreckle was with him. The leader surveyed her daughter as she padded over informing her of WindClan needing aid. Every so dutiful. She watched as the Enforcer cleaned the blood off her pelt and felt some tension drain seeing no wounds underneath. "Go ahead," Dawnstar replied, letting her go once she finished looking Lostspark over. One more concern put to rest.
Now where was... There she was. Dawnstar turned her head as Sleepypaw appeared silently at her side. Unlike the other apprentices, Sleepypaw was given a few extra pokes of the leader's nose as she checked her granddaughter thoroughly. Sleepypaw had quite a bit of blood attached to her pelt, much like her mother, but it seemed like much of it was not her own. There were some scratches, a ripped ear, and the limp had to do with a bite, but all in all she was alright. Sleepypaw kept her head high, and unlike the other two paws, didn't seem as phased by the fighting, the deaths, and the wounds. Pride gleamed in her amber eyes at the sight. "You are your mother's daughter, I couldn't be prouder of you." She trilled quietly to Sleepypaw.
With her major worries relieved, Dawnstar sat in between Squirrelpaw and Sleepypaw. The leader was aware that she was practically the living embodiment of all Squirrelpaw's anxieties and fears, and that there was no comfort to be found in her presence the way Sleepypaw found, but still, she remained nearby if nothing more than to keep an eye on the apprentice.
Dawnstar was missing her dark death dealer, and her arrogant, annoying, but efficient warrior, Mistlewhisker and Darkfall. Everyone else was accountable except for them. Slytiger, Bloomingblaze, and Shrewstep she had no clue where they were and reminded herself to stop taking them to big events like this. The leader had briefly spotted her clanmates and their battles, RiverClan proved to be more of a pushover than expected, or her clanmates had simply gotten stuck with dull fighters. Dawnstar had to seek a challenge to get any fun.
"You've all brought honor to ShadowClan, I couldn't be prouder to call you my clanmates." Dawnstar praised them for a job well done. Gotta keep that morale up even if the battle had been easy and one-sided. "Clean up your wounds as best you can, I'll need a few of you to stay here with me. I want to explore RiverClan's territory, make sure all the RiverClanners are gone, and mark the borders. We can pick out a few chunks of land we like while we're at it, and collect some marigolds and cobwebs for Lostspark while we're out. We can claim what we like after we clear it with the other clans, I'm not interested in fighting over it." Dawnstar told them. ShadowClan's been busy these past few moons and Dawnstar would love it if they could take a few moons break.
"Tuftedtusk you already stated you'd like to come along, anyone else. If you are too tired, mentally or physically, go over and sit with Mossfreckle. Tell him I said he can take you guys home once he's done caring for Rookpaw and Fogwatcher. Help him with whatever he needs." She ordered, glancing around the camp clearing.
"Also, has anyone seen Mistlewhisker or Darkfall?" She wasn't concerned about either. Darkfall and Mistlewhiser weren't anything to scoff at in a battle, she just needed to put her mind at ease. One was her deputy and the other had yet to reclaim his place as one of her strongest within ShadowClan. She couldn't afford to lose one or the other.

Her approach had startled Willowpaw, evidently. Usually the warrior would be more mindful of her sister's nervous disposition, but she had been much too concerned herself to bother with approaching the apprentice in a less sudden manner. At least she was alright physically, even if her nerves seemed quite frayed (more so than usual, that is). Willowpaw pointed out her own injuries, causing Raspberryswirl to scan her pelt self-consciously. Did she really look that bad? The vain she-cat decided she despised battles. Of course that river rat had to go and make her look all roughed-up.
"I'm okay boo, just a few scrapes and bruises," she reassured her sibling, trying not to wince at the pressure of Willowpaw's nose against her injured flank. The claw marks were deep but small, and the bleeding had stopped by now. Her butt was sore from being stomped on, but the skin wasn't broken from what she could tell. The important thing was no scarring!
Dawnstar paused to sniff the siblings briefly, apparently finding satisfaction in their minimally banged-up states. Raspberryswirl's ears swiveled to attention as the leader began addressing the gathered group, praising their performance. The words helped, but the grey molly still felt as though she'd done nothing helpful. She'd been rescued by the Thunderclan leader, of all cats.
Thankfully, Dawnstar provided the perfect opportunity to redeem herself. "I'll come with!" she volunteered immediately, feathery tail straight up in the air. Maybe walking around would ease the soreness in her hips. And she was good at collecting herbs!

She was still thrilled from the battle that had taken place, energy buzzing through her. She couldn’t see herself wearing down any time soon, so she triumphantly stepped forward, head raised high, and volunteered to go with her leader. “I’ll go” she said, something uncommon gleaming in her gaze. Thrill? Joy?

Briarsplash looked up with pride as Dawnstar congratulated the Clan's win. Of course they won, but still, it felt nice. Especially seeing the leader looking genuinely impressed and content over their successes.
At the offer to join Dawnstar to explore the territory, Briarsplash padded up, eyes still glinting with energy. She hadn't had too thrilling of a fight except getting near to her first kill (and then getting sidetracked by a scrappy elder... which she'd wish to forget about); despite the few scratches on her pelt and a little bit of exhaustion after being thrown around, the large warrior still felt amped up and ready to do something.
"I'll go, Dawnstar!" She called, sitting herself beside the others who'd volunteered. She didn't really know anything about herbs, but certainly cobwebs; she'd gotten them wrapped up in her thick fur more times than she'd like to admit. Besides, getting to stick her nose in all of RiverClan's territory without consequence was intriguing, no doubt.

The tom nodded to Dawnstar, sitting himself down. He noticed Briarsplash, Raspberryswirl and Bristletorn sit near him and he dipped his head in greeting to his other clanmates.
While he sat there, he continued to clean his wounds to the best of his ability. He was proud to be ShadowClan. He was hoping he had proved himself well and maybe even worthy of being an Enforcer.
He perked his ears as Dawnstar mentioned not seeing Mistlewhisker or Darkfall. "I haven't seen them since the fighting stopped and the fishfaces ran with their tails between their legs like twoleg pets. Apologies."
Seated besides Dawnstar blue eyes, though hints of being tired, looked up to watch as the leader seemed to inspect her body. Quite suddenly it came to mind that perhaps she should have cleaned off a bit of the blood before joining Miss Grandmama’s side again – not minding the prodding or poking – just to present herself with a clean image; but in her daze Sleepypaw had been unable to fully acknowledge Darkfall’s words, the only new goal in her mind having been to find Miss Grandmama or mama once the fighting had ended. Now that she was here, though, an inconspicuous paw lifted to lightly shake off some excess blood.
Although the action was soon to end. Vibrant blue eyes looked back up from the moment she had glanced aside as ripped ear gave a light flicker; finally, blue hues picked up on what seemed to be… Not disappointment in her grandmother’s eyes as the feline spoke the words – those words that made her heart swell; nervous and happy, hopeful and self-conscious – her mother’s daughter, couldn’t be prouder.
It came as a surprise; she had not known Dawnstar’s views on the murders, on the fighting, much less her perfomance now and over the past few moons since she moment she had joined this world – yet now, she was being given what felt like the highest praise. Being akin to mama and Miss Grandmama is what she worked towards – to reach their level of skill and ability, and beyond. To have their pride, their care, their love. That is what she yearned for, that is what felt like Miss Grandmama was giving her.
She wondered, did mama think the same thing? She wouldn’t dare to dream, but the words coming from Miss Grandmama were enough to push the apprentice to further sit up, remain all the more alert and at the ready; to chase away any tiredness that crept its way up into her mind and eyes as she sat tall beside her grandmother, proud to be her granddaughter. The murders and violences she had committed this night may way heavy on her heart, but Sleepypaw had no intent on revealing as much, or dwelling further on it – if both Miss Grandmama and mama approved, then it must have been the right thing to do. It had to be.
Subconsciously, Sleepypaw came to lean closer to momentarily lean against her grandmother in a silent sign of affection, before resuming her proper stance close to Miss Grandmama’s side after some heartbeat, listening to her following orders, taking her words to heart – a sign to work all the more, and harder. Her gaze was cast ahead of herself, watching the clearing empty and other felines volunteer to go with Miss Grandmama; Sleepypaw was not as vocal, but a look up towards Miss Grandmama said it all – despite the light limp caused by her paw, she had no intention on leaving Miss Grandmama’s side; she would be fine, she told herself, to explore alongside her grandmother and whoever else came as long as she kept her guard up and paid attention. A limping paw wouldn’t change a thing, she could get treated after.
Hoping Miss Grandmama would not oppose her coming along, the young apprentice cast a quick – curious – glance around at the mention of Mistlewhisker and Darkfall. Though she hadn’t seen the deputy, had the stranger not been with her just moments before, telling her to resign Miss Grandmama’s gift to the fleeing RiverClanners?
