ShadowClan apprentice | 5 moons | she/her no purrks

Honeypaw! She was an apprentice. Maybe life would start picking up a little now that her roleplayer finally had a reason to use her. Honeypaw craned her neck looking for her new mentor. Magpiecove. Sounded nice enough, or at least she hoped! Although she was excited to meet her new mentor, the familiar dread of meeting someone new crept up her spine, and suddenly she didn’t want to be an apprentice anymore. Smile fading, she looked around anxiously for Magpiecove.
Magpiecove thought this weather was ICKY. It was common knowledge that after snow melted science science and then BAM, MUD! It would've been her mortal enemy if she didn't like flinging mudballs at other unsuspecting and very sucky cats. It was so fun! How could she possibly hate the mud after that, hm? It was just like snow, the only purpose the icy slush served was to torture others. Magpiecove didn't mind getting dirty herself, but she did mind having to groom the stuff out her pelt. It was truly a pain, and DISGUSTING!
Anyways, the large eared warrior sat as still as she could, looking up at Dawnstar by craning her neck so far it HAD to be painful (it was. Magpiecove was finding it hard to swallow, but that didn't stop her). She hadn't expected her name to be among many, and it genuinely got her excited. She sprung to her paws. An apprentice, hm? Hehe, she'd have so much fun bragging to Spiderthorn about this! Okay, she was aware his was Spiderpaw now, but Magpiecove didn't care for that.
The chimera waltzed over to Honeypaw, her smile toothy and laced with its natural snark and slyness, like anything coming out of her mouth couldn't possibly be truth. Hey! It's not her fault her face looks naturally evil. "Hey, hey you! Overrr thereee." Magpiecove called out, stopping to place her pink nose on the smaller cat's forehead. Magpiecove was about the size of a seven moon old apprentice, so it was kinda a tricky feat, but she managed. "I'm Magpiecove, quite possibly the most important cat you'll ever meet." she smiled so wide it nearly looked unnatural.
Late! He was late! Breezeheart quickly padded towards the other gathered cats. He had already missed the apprentice ceremony, he couldn't miss the soon-to-be new warriors. The warrior took a seat among the other warriors, his eyes focused on the two apprentice that had already said their vows.

Mudslide hated mud. Haha, yes, very funny, definitely, definitely funny, not annoying at all. She hated the feeling of it more than snow, because at least snow was something she could grip onto if it was sturdy enough, mud on the other paw was bound to be a slippery nuisance, coating her fur in caky layers.
The Enforcer shuffled into a spot, her eyes so narrowed her heterochromatic hues were nearly invisible, like she was closing her eyes while also squinting really hard. Despite her hindered vision, she could tell when Rookfire shuffled closer to her, and his smell was really a determining trait. He still smelt like the medicine den, that stingy herbal smell that most medics carried, former or not.
Mudslide didn't acknowledge him. He wasn't speaking to her. Even then, she still wouldn't talk to him. It's not like she disliked Rookfire, Mudslide just didn't feel like talking, at all, especially with puddles matting the fur around her paws. Marbled ears perked as she listened to apprentices getting their rank and receiving mentors. She was rather glad her name was no on that list. Two was already a nightmare.
rookfire shuffled slightly, striped tail coming to wrap around muddied paws with hesitation. mud at his paws was okay, mud in his tail not so much. somewhat, mud never failed to remind him of being young, starved and muddied forced to deliver the kits of someone he had trusted and accepted as a parental figure only to be failed. he didnt bother think about goldfish or marigoldpaw anymore, the anger having long since boiled over and calmed to a low simmer, bleeding into the generalised disgusted stinging in his chest at the thought of riverclan. disgusting. his one white tipped ear twitched forward as dawnstar began, focus returning to the leader. adderpaw and honeypaw, assigned to two warriors he barely cared about. though he must say he was slightly surprised to hear of magpiecove specifically being assigned a mentor so soon after her warrior ceremony. the silence between him and the enforcer wasnt tense, for once, and rook wouldnt bother speak to her.
roachflare exists (i promise)

Houndpaw did not come here for the meeting. No, he came here for the mud. Whilst previously up to mischievous acts in the apprentice's den, Mama's voice caught his attention that he poked his head out to see what's up. And then he saw it: MUD GALORE. Den abandoned, the apprentice came skidding into the meeting and charged at a particular mud pile head first. He landed in the puddle with a splash, rolling around in the wet dirt with an expression of glee. It HAD RETURNED!!!!!! FINALLY! NO MORE SNOW!!
[ open for nearby cats to get splattered with mud lol ]

The molly shuffled her large mud-caked paws as each apprentice spoke their agreement. "Then I give you your warrior name, Midnightpaw, from this moment on you'll known as Midnightclaw. We honor your stealth and bravery and welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan." She stepped forward and brushed her muzzle against Midnightclaw's head.
"I give you your warrior name, Cloverpaw, from this moment on you'll be known as Cloverlark. We honor your intelligence and resilience and welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan." Dawnstar had a mild thought to plop her muddy paw atop the warrior's head, despite how amusing that might be, not the time or place. She drops her chin to touch the warrior's head. She still wasn't fond of the name, but her issues with Lark didn't need to be shared with those who wanted to honor her.
"Cloverlark, Midnightclaw." Dawnstar greeted the two by their new names and left the clan to echo her as she returned to the top of the peak. Once a decent amount of silence enveloped the clan Dawnstar began speaking again.
"Reassignements. Scorpionpaw and Rockjaw. Wispypaw and Breezeheart. Wisppaw and Bloomcave. Brownpaw and Silverdusk. Thrushpaw and Wolfhunter." It wasn't as dreadful as she had originally made it out to be. Or maybe her mood wasn't as bad as it had been five minutes ago. Hard tell.
"We have some former outsiders joining our clan. Welcome Pinepaw and Bouncekit. Pinepaw will need a mentor to help train and learn our ways. Rosedove that task will fall to you as his mentor, teach him well." She doesn't bother hunting for either of the newest members, she had to get this off her chest.
"Recently, an entire patrol of four fully trained warriors got torn apart by a mere pup of a fox. Pondlily obtained some severe wounds, and Blackjaw and Ravenfeather had to be sent to the medicine cat for their wounds. Mudslide had to show up and save their asses while their fourth member, Mosstangle was ordered back to camp to fetch reinforcements.... for a PUP!" She seethed while her hackles rose in fury.
"I can't tell if they're merely that weak or if peace has cost ShadowClan our strength. We have run owls, an entire pack of foxes, minks, rats, snakes, and so much more out of our territory through brute force. We have slayed where others have failed, yet now we are losing to pups. It's beyond disgraceful. To ensure that this was a mere fluke, I will be holding a surprise sparring event for the warriors, where you will prove to me that you deserve your warrior rank or you will be demoted and go through retraining from scratch." The Queen of Mean couldn't get over it. Beaten by a pup, if the other clans hear of this ShadowClan will become a laughingstock. Noooooo! She wouldn't have it!
"Warriors you better start battle training to impress me. If you have a problem with my decision you can speak to me, although I can't promise it won't end with your blood decorating my den. Meeting Dismissed." Her tail sliced through the air as she turned and stomped her way down the peak and into the clearing.
Annnnnnddddd, Houndpaw. Seconds after she descended a large glop of mud lands on her face as her son decides splashing in it is the best decision he could ever make. "Houndpaw, you're itching for a renaming, Frogpaw or Pigpaw." She spats, shaking out her pelt to remove the mud from her face, flank, and wherever else it had gotten. She would forbid him from playing in the mud, but as ShadowClan territory was made up of mud, there wasn't a point. She should toss him in the lake behind the ruins and call it a day. #shcmeeting
[Before anyone freaks out and starts gathering their pitchforks, the event will be for a plot of mine, no one is going through demotion or retraining, but feel free to have your warriors worry about it IC]

Pinekit had only moved closer to the Grimpeak to see if his parents were there yet (they weren't (they're dead but he don't know this so)). Then he saw somecat run nearby and then the NEXT thing he saw was mud flying at his fur. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THEM!? He had spent ages trying to make it NICE and everything in case his parents came back in a fancy ceremony during the meeting (they hadn't). Now his work was RUINED and especially on his nice fur. Why did his fur have to be so easily ruined by mud?! Not being real, the hallucination wasn't actually affected by the mud that flew right through it, but it still took offense. Pinekit glared at the apprentice through the mud dripping off his fur and this was a cat that he had decided needed to join Mushroomkit in levels of stupidity. Even the leader agreed! He tried to shake it off but some of it was still in his fur. Icky.
Houndpaw was the name.
"Hey you! Don't do that. That's mean. I agree with Dawnstar, that should be your name. Because you love mud so much maybe you can go live in it and then die in it too!!"

Shadowclan warrior - 19 moons - Large dark brown-and-white tabby she-cat with green eyes.
(Purrks: N/A)

Once Dawnstar began speaking again, Mosstangle paid full attention. Newly promoted warriors! It was always great to see the young earn their rank within the clan. She wondered, for a moment, what name Morningpaw would earn and what traits their leader would honor when she finished training him.
"Cloverlark! Midnightclaw!" She echoed her leader's chant with the clan. Bravery, stealth, intelligence, resilience. These were the traits of their new warriors. Mosstangle had yet to interract with either of these new warriors, but she planned to welcome them as everyone else.
Reassignments and newly accepted cats were next. The tabby couldn't imagine how any warrior could neglect their apprentice so. Sure, it could be busy, but it felt worth it to see Morningpaw's progress. She could say that she was relieved not to receive a second apprentice, though.
And then...
Their recent event was fully out in the air, now. Whatever whispers may have spread before about it... well, the fox was well known, now. Mosstangle's heart skipped a beat when she heard her own name. She couldn't agree with her leader more, but it still frustrated her deeply. This should have been a non-issue, and now here they were. The dark tabby felt like everyone was staring.
Let them stare if they so chose. Mosstangle glanced at Blackjaw before lifting her chin and standing to leave Grimpeak. This would not be a challenge for her to fail. She refused.
Mosstangle would prove her worth. So help any cat that got in her way.
cloverpaw watched as midnightclaw got their name. then dawnstar moved to hers.
"I give you your warrior name, Cloverpaw, from this moment on you'll be known as Cloverlark. We honor your intelligence and resilience and welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan."
she had done it. she actually did it. cloverlark purred quietly as she took in her warrior name. this was a thousand times better then when she had became a 'paw. he padded on back to his corner once the cheers of his and midnightclaw's names had died down.
the rest of the meeting had cloverlark frowning. how had a group of warriors get destroyed by a fox pup? he and two other apprentices had taken down an owl, and warriors older then him had probably taken down loads of adult predators before. the half-blind tabby sighed at the mention of a surprise sparring event. he had just become a warrior too. but hey, the more training the merrier. because that would mean it'd be easier to rip apart the other clans when the time for battle came.
and with that, the leader dismissed the meeting. the small now-warrior stood up and was about to head to the apprentice's den. he quickly diverted his path and stalked over to the warrior's den instead. he wasn't an apprentice anymore (thank god). so now they would have to find a new nest.
he approached the den, sniffing around the entry before entering.
[eeeeeee - closed, cloverlark has left the meeting.]

Blackjaw chanted the new warriors names with the rest of the Clan. Then his ears burned. His name, with the rest of the patrol, was out there. He had to acknowledge inside himself, yes, being beaten by a fox pup was disgraceful. His eyes burned with frustration but he knew that it was necessary. ShadowClan couldn’t be seen as weak. Blackjaw looked at Mosstangle, the same fierce determination in her eyes as his. He nodded at the she-cat. “Perhaps we can train together to get ready for these tests,” he mewed to Mosstangle.

Pinepaw lifted his head when he heard his name. So... Mentor. Right, what did that mean? He looked around to see the warrior he was paired with. Rosedove? An odd name, but so was Pinepaw. He'd just have to get used to this stuff if he was to impress Dawnstar. He wanted to call out Rosedove's name, but was nervous that it'd seem weird if he did something like that, especially with him being new. So there he was, wandering in a clearing of so many unfamiliar cats... And trying to pick out one of them.
