☆ attendance here precedes punishment+confinement to camp!

Salamanderpaw perks up, seeing who she's on errands with. Her right-hand-cat and...thay other guy!! Beaverpaw!! Aaaand someone else!!! She can recall wanting Beaverpaw in on her warband many moons ago...now, with a long and skeptical look shot at the tom, she wonders if that plan might still be worth enacting. Every warrior worth a damn needs a posse to roll with, right? She's got to start hers somewhere...

"Hey! Beaverpaw! How hard can you hit?" She's not thinking about herbs at all right now. After an attempt at greeting Seapaw the usual way (a rough headbump aimed at their shoulder), she gets straight to interviewing. "Did your mentor teach you how to mess cats up yet? You have to tell me." In fact, she's so not paying attention to their task that she makes a mess of her collection of the little orangey-yellow whatever-they-ares, yanking up sprouts with such force that she gets a few roots unearthed in the process. Yuck, this is so lame! Medicine cats must have been invented as some kind of sick punishment from Starclan.

"Gleh, theshe tase rodden!" She complains through her mouthful, hauling it back to Berryshine quickly. Salamanderpaw spits the flowers out after a moment, not letting the unknown cat (to her) in their little entourage go unquestioned:

"Hey, Cricketpaw! That's you, right? Cricketpaw? How hard can you hit?"

Both Seapaw and Salamanderpaw had flowers now.
Well... sorta both.

Oh, Salamanderpaw was speaking to him now.
Uh, good thing he had just set the flowers down for a moment while he waited to go.
How hard can he hit...?
"Um... I'm not... sure?" Beaverpaw replied quietly, as per usual "I... have been given.. battle training, though."

He then watched as she was talking to Cricketpaw as well.
He doesn't know that apprentice yet.

He does spot Riftpaw though.
Honestly, he's glad there's at least a few cats he knows here.
At least some things stay unchanging.

She glanced up from her flowers when her name was called.

How hard could she... hit? The tabby apprentice shrugged, she didn't exactly know that off the top of her head.

"Like soft, medium, or hard?" how would one classify a hit. Beaverpaw elaborated saying he hadn't had any battle training, and Cricket'Paw nodded,

"No worries, neither have I." turning her gray gaze back to Salamanderpaw, her tail flicked slightly. "I don't know, if you want I could try it on you, though, it might be... Possibly weak." well it was better to admit she had no idea how strong she was straight up than lie about it.

*UMPH* - the apprentice stumbled as his sister headbutted him - was he ever prepared for that?!?! Mess cats up?? Uh oh...Looks like they wouldn't be impressing Salamanderpaw anytime soon. "Uhhhh, not yet - but I can hunt real good!" they pounced down excitedly - 'real good' may be a bit of an overstatement... They'd caught a total of one vole. "Anyways, messing cats up is your speciality!" He chimed, ear flickering. Beaverpaw had battle training, but he didn't seem super confident. It was a comfort to know that not everyone was super into fighting - even if they weren't terrified of it the same was Seapaw was. He feared he didn't have much to add on the topic of fighting - last time Oliverat tried to teach him... "I'm sure you can hit harder than me, Cricketpaw!" he joked, "just uh, don't try it out on me-" ears flattened a little awkwardly as he clarified.

Berryshine purred in amusement to Daisypaw who bounded over so proudly, nodding in acknowledgement to her adoptive sister. "You did great," she mewed, resting her tail briefly on the little 'paws shoulders.

Berry did take notice to some of the other apprentices' methods as they gathered herbs, noting to herself that she hadn't really told them how to do it; she'd just sort of assumed they would know not to just... rip up everything brutally, but to pluck it. But one glance at Salamanderpaw's 'work' told her that she should've been more clear. Heh... good to know for next time, she supposed. Having some herbs, even if they were banged up, was much better than none.

Once all the apprentices assembled, she raised her tail again in a gesture to quiet them down, Berryshine stood to her paws. She'd grabbed some cobwebs and moss in her free time of waiting on all the 'paws, and now was time to head back. Dropping her supply briefly, she raised her voice so they all could hear.

"A-Alright, everyone! Take your herbs and let's head back to camp — t-that way we can get this guessing game started." Leading the way, the small brown she-cat padded back to camp, trusting Brokenstream to take up the rear.

[ if you haven't posted yet for your kitty gathering herbs, feel free to make one after this and have them arrive with everyone else because ic we wouldn't leave ya behind hehe ]

When they arrived, Berryshine greeted the excited kits back at camp and settled down, waiting for everyone to circle around and drop off their herbs. She gave a somewhat apologetic, yet amused glance to Caveclaw, wondering how the Lionheart fared being the kit-sitter. But once the participating apprentices and kits gathered around, Berry pawed forward some marigold first. It was an orangey-yellow flowerhead with small, ripply petals on a thin stem with fern-like leaves. It had a pungent but traditional 'floral' scent to it, and was clearly a low-growing plant.

"Okay! First up... we have a very common herb that you may have seen around. I-It grows a lot everywhere, but especially in the sunshine. They usually grow in clusters. For herb purposes, you'd chew this up until it makes a sort of juice — we call this a poultice," Berry explained, her usually-shaky tone evening out a bit as she explained her herbal knowledge. "You put this on wounds to help fight infection before you'd seal it up with cobwebs. Anyone have any guesses?"

The medicine cat let her leafy-green gaze survey the assembled young cats in front of her, having to resist the urge to stare too long at Marigoldpaw in case she gave it away — but she figured if any cat might guess it first, perhaps it'd be the 'paw who bore the namesake of the pretty flower?

Shellpaw happily bounded up, a bundle of cool smelling herbs in his maw. Dropping them, he listened intently and excitedly shuffled his paws. "Ooh! Ooh I know! It's marigold, right? Its yellow! That's my favorite color!" he purred. Swishing his tail happily. He nudged Marigoldpaw. "Pretty name! And a really cool flower too!" he smiled.

Mintkit relaxed when the big cats and smaller big cats arrived, holding bunches of strong-smelling plants. I didn't do anything wrong! She thought, relieved. Now that she wasn't paralyzed, she could see the other kits had stayed, too. So she did do what she was supposed to. Her ears perked up, and she walked closer to Berryshine, peering curiously at the herby-plant, all her curiosity restored, unafraid now. She listened attentively to Berryshine's description. "Hmmm... Sunflower? 'C-Cause you s-s-said it grows in th' sunshine?" she guessed, sniffing the plant curiously.

Softkit had no idea what to do, but she didn't want to admit it. Thankfully, she was saved by the apprentices and warriors coming back. She wrinkled her nose as the yucky scents of the herbs hit her. She did not want to be here. But she had said that she was going to do this. So she couldn't back down. Because Duskkit. Though when she caught sight of the plant they were doing first, she looked at it more curiously. "It's pretty," she said. She liked pretty. And the yellow would go well with her light-brown fur.
"You guess," Duskkit said.
Softkit looked at Duskkit incredulously. She had forgotten about the game. Guessing the name sounded boring. It was just a name. Why did it matter? And she hadn't been listening to the medicine cat when she was talking about it. But she couldn't back down. "I don't know. Why do I have to guess it?" she huffed, though she had to at least try even though she didn't want to. "Yellow flower? Dandelion? It could be anything!" she scuffed the ground in frustration. She didn't waaanttt tooo.

Okay, none of those sounded right either.
Especially not dandelion.

"Uhhhh..." Duskkit thought for a moment, before she had an idea.

She leaned toward the apprentices, perking up an ear to hear the guesses.
Cheating was okay sometimes.

She heard the same word.
"Marigold!" She then states loudly.

The flower she had collected. What was it called? A few cats muttered something like marigold. Marigold... That word was familiar not for the plant but other stuff too.

"Marigold." her tone was sorta quiet, but still audible. Hopefully this would count for something.
