Cougarbite dipped his head to the cat who'd been more of a mother to him than his actual mother. "Hello Nightshiver." He greeted. "I've been more or less alright. My apprentice is doing amazing, she'll be a warrior in no time. But I did have an interesting encounter... with someone I used to know, the other day." He said, not going to give up the fact that it was his real mother that he had just talked to. He assumed the rest of the clan thought she was dead or gone for good. "And that kinda threw me off, I thought they were someone I'd never see again." He added.
"How have you be though?" He asked.
A smile spread across the queen's maw as Cougarbite found it within himself to greet her - a subtle sign her worries had been for nought. She relaxed, settling down her nerves and listened to her friend's kit, eyes attentively glancing his way and ears perked to catch the words. They hadn't spoken in some time, and she was sure a lot happened. At least, and luckily so, Cougarbite still seemed to be in good health. That simple observation brought her comfort. Though, it was surprising to hear he'd made an interesting encounter -- someone he thought he wouldn't see again? Nightshiver wasn't going to pry and ask who it was, though she admitted to being curious. "hm.. sometimes.. felines do... come back... for just... a moment. It... is always... strange."
she mumbled, a bit in thought as it reminded her of her own mother, who came and went several times. It made losing her over and over again all the more difficult, but she couldn't blame her. "I have... been.. well, thank.. you. Transitioning... to forever... queen has... been... different, but. I.. enjoy... working.. with the... kittens."
Her smile grew gentle as she recalled the kittens in the nursery and the way they never failed to brighten her day, despite the aching in her hear whenever she looked at them.

As soon as she'd woken that morning, the grey and white she-kit had made her way out of the nest and straight for Papa Elmshadow's den, though she quickly found out that he wasn't there. She searched next for Barky, Uncool Pip? She couldn't stop thinking about how MooMoo had said he liked hugs and she must've been so not nice because she hadn't given him a hug when they'd hung out last, she hadn't known! But she didn't have any luck with that either. She made her way back into the clearing and plopped down in a sunny spot, her pale blue eyes rotating around the clearing. Miss Storm's kits crossed her mind and she considered going back into the nursery to see if they were still in the nest but as she sat there her thoughts wandered and she found herself simply waiting for something to catch her eye.
Harekit poked his head out of the nursery he had just woken up from a nap and was curious to see the outside world as his amber gaze scanned the clearing he spotted Sunsetkit his new sister well mama had told him that this was his adopted sister he didn't know what that meant but she was his sister. Without a second thought the young tom trotted clumsily over to the gray and white kit smiling sweetly "H-hi Sunnykit!" he greeted her in a friendly tone "W-what are you d-doing?" he asked curiously tilting his head.

Cougarbite's belly churned in a strange way when the kittens were brought up. It was like his body knew he was expecting before he himself even did. It wasn't uncommon for signs not to truly show till 3 weeks after. So while it would take him a week or so more to realize himself, his body already knew and the kittens were forming inside. "I uh, I've been thinking about kittens too. Since I've had a mate.. Roseshine, I've been kinda hoping to have some kittens myself. Maybe not yet.. but soon. You could.. help with them maybe? Like be an aunt or grandma figure?" He offered. "Since you're close to a mother to me." He added, quieter though. He wasn't sure why but he didn't want to loudly admit that he saw Nightshiver as a mother figure.

HOUNDHUNTER Death: Reversed
Pronouns: Haunt/Hauntself || Massive black and white cat with heavy flank scarring, orange and green eyes.
Purrk: Beefed Up || Tier 1
[ ➥ MENTION(S): @Undertaker , @Leafí ]
Slowly but surely dragging the body of Turtlesong was a challenge in itself. Placing the lifeless cat in the clearing near the camp entrance before calling for the Deputy and Leader. “Vulturefang! Dawnstar! Turtlesong, killed. Found in Icy heartland. Killer could still be out there, ” Mewing to them both is they appeared from whenever the bell those two stayed. Houndhunter waited on a response, and those who wished to say their goodbyes. The warriors voice boomed through the clearing, taking haunts respective place next to the dead warrior. Standing still as the world kept on moving, like Houndhunter was frozen for a moment. Ugh. The black and white cat exhaled sharply. Death was common, no need to panic about such a thing. But haunt couldn’t help but want to meet Hazehound, bury haunt’s head into his white fur and just stop to think.

Finally he had learned to speak, he had been the one who was learning that longer than his siblings! But well... Now he was done, and he could speak (well, not perfectly but yeah... He could!), coming out of the nursery after seeing his brother Harekit going out, and followed him... To their new sister! He really appreciated her, even tho she was adopted, he stood a bit behind, trying to decide if he should approach or remain behind...
"I am ash... I am embers... My flames once danced bright. My flames now fade... But it returns from the depths... The fire devours me whole... It's the birth of something greater..."

Clearsky had nothin' much more to do today, other than sit in the clearing and watch all the other cats in the Clan mill 'round. She wondered briefly where her brother and his friend(? what were they to eachother, anyways?) were at this fine morning. With a stretch, she was determined to find them. Tracking them by scent was easy, but unless they were yellin for her, she wouldn't hear bird dookie! With some soft humming, she began her little mission. Quickly enough, she found her brother and Houndhunter. What a nice ending to this! "Hello, darlins'! How are you two today?" She purred gently, sitting down infront of them and curling her tail around her paws.

hazehound had found a cosy lil nook, sheltered from the rain, along with his boyfriend, his love, his husband! houndhunter probably wouldn't agree with any of those titles but the big thing couldn't read his mind so HA! Haze won that round!
he was bored, grooming his own pelt pointlessly for once. his white fur was mucky from the muddy earth of the forest, the rain dripping down and making everything smell like those big ol' pine tree above them. now everything smelt wet and sad and piney and.. ugh. thank god for that lil nose of his, he could tell one cat from the other like the back of his paw! even if he couldn't exactly see the back of his paw.
white ears - one tattered - immediately prickled up when he heard his sister.. "CLEARSKY!" Lucky enough for clear, and not so lucky for his companion, was that hazehound was naturally an overly loud cat! lose your eye sight, gain the lungs of a roaring bear it seemed... maybe he could've been called hazebear, but being a dinky white runt didn't fit that bear theme so well.
hazehound stood on those mucky paws, throwing himself into where he assumed she was, lucky enough he was right! his body would bump into clouds if the gal wasn't fast enough to move. it was some odd attempt at a head bump, but as reckless as usual.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
"rain rain go away... come back another day!"
a beautiful little rhyme that wouldv'e been sweet and soft if anyone else sang it. instead it was hazehound, voice loud and carrying across the clearing. he was unapologetic! and he wasn''t going to lower his voice for anyone else, they should enjoy it whilst it lasted!
"rain rain go AWAY! don't even bother coming back!"
the singing was gone, replaced with soggy frustration. rain made scents muddle and mix, damp and dirty, everything coated in that overly flamboyant scent of pines. ew! but, through the scent oof well watered vegetation, he picked up on the smell of one warrior; sagefeather!
a grin grew across his maw as he stood up, bounding across the clearing a little more faster than usual. the scent grew and grew until he was close enough to the other that his whiskers twitched at sagefeathers presence.
The pinecone Sagechaser had been viciously chewing on rolled out of his mouth, thumping on the ground with a soft thud, some gross strands of saliva on it. There'd been some crowing yowling before, and the young warrior had been unable to help the little smirk that crossed his face when he'd heard it. Who wouldn't? Sagechaser wasn't one to mind the rain all too much, but sometimes the weather dampened his spirits, so sometimes he would want the rain to go away.
But here was Hazehound now! He grinned ecstatically, glad that somebody had come up to him and basically chose for him what to do today. He still has to figure out what to do with all this adult freedom. "Like what?" he asked, getting up to his paws quickly, nudging the pinecone away. Hopefully, nobody else tried to chew on that. That'd be a bit gross. "Don't say jump in puddles, I just cleaned my pelt," Sagechaser added as an afterthought. That was the only thing he wouldn't do. He hated when he got his white fur all muddy, 'cause he could never get away with it!
Sagechaser's mind paused as he scrabbled for ideas. "Uh..." C'mon, he just had an idea before it slipped away from him! He shifted his paws restlessly before shrugging and peering at Hazehound. "My mind's blank, whatcha got?" he demanded eagerly. Maybe they could go find Larkfire and bother her, but he didn't want to bother her if she was busy. So that idea was dead. Lilypaw was likely still healing, so going to rope her into some crazy scheme was also a bad idea.
And then an idea hit him! He could technically just leave, he didn't have to ask anybody's permission to go out on the territory. But maybe Hazehound had something else planned, so Sagechaser kept his mouth shut as he barely patiently (what a change) waited for the other guy's answer.
