Brackenclaw would look over towards the fellow Hornet. Brackenclaw was glad to see them more their old self for awhile he was worried for the tripod but Brackenclaw wasn't the best at the whole emotion thing so he didn't know what to do to help. Instead Brackenclaw resigned to just watching and giving space. Seems Brackenclaws patience paid off whether it was time or whether someone helped Mudhound outta his funk it didn't matter what mattered is things were finally starting to get back to normal. Even Lavendersong had returned to them. Brackenclaw would nod at Mudhounds comment of the weather in acknowledgement but would look around at the bright sky his ear flicking. "To be honest I've always liked the quiet of Leafbare more but I assume Newleaf isn't bad either." Brackenclaw would meow his deep dark voice betraying the fact Brackenclaw was glad to see Mudhound feeling better. Brackenclaw would hear Mudhound needing to talk to him. "First I wanted to say I'm glad your feeling better. We should go hunting some time together to celebrate." Brackenclaw would tell Mudhound. "So you needed to talk to me huh what about?" Brackenclaw meowed his deep intimidating voice as he motioned the spot in front of him where he was sitting. @Rani

"Ooooh yeah! Hunting sounds fun, Id like to do that at some point!" Maybe he wouldnt wanna after the conversation but if he was still open Mudhound would love to make proper friends with a fellow big cat.


"Honestly? Healing has come from a kinda unexpected source. I always got along with younger cats well and love training apprentices and I guess I forgot that in all that was going on..... Quackpaw though, well we bonded while sick, I told her stories and we cuddled a bit and I guess after she felt better she really wanted me to teach her some stuff.



Im sure you know how hard it is to say no to her hehe so Ive been forced outta camp for training and just talking and fun, its done wonders for me." The tripod downright blossomed as they talked grinning bright and sunny in a way that hadnt been seen in moons. Mudhound was happy, themselves again, bullied into doing something they enjoyed and were good by a kid so very similar in personality as them.


"Which is kinda what I wanted to talk to you about. I know its super selfish and unfair in a way, you have been doing well with her but.... Well we get along so so well and she made a couple of comments about being my apprentice before everything went bad. Honestly I can justify to the moon but the short of it is Id really like to kinda steal Quackpaw from you but I dont wanna hurt you in the process."
There was probably more the tripod could say, that Quackpaw had suggested the idea again in a training session with Mudhound. That she had admitted she wasnt getting along with Brackenclaw, something Mudhound could kinda see given the complete personality differences. But the hornet was kinda struggling to figure out what to say beyond that, lapsing off into silence.

Despite how long she’d had her new apprentice, Flowerhawk hadn’t trained her at all. This would not do. It was time to take her to see the world—in other words, ThunderClan’s territory. “Smokepaw!” the tabby warrior called, too lazy to actually go and find her. It would be weird this time, taking an apprentice out on her own, but probably for the better. Blackbird—Blackbirdwing—didn’t have a good track record with apprentices, after all.

Hoping no one would panic over the two bodies of the dead elders slung over the hornets back Mudhound padded through the clearing, poking head into the medicine cats den and spotting Wolfhawk.


They hadnt really talked much of late, first Mudhound was depressed then recovering then Wolfhawk was sick and itd scared the tripod too much to make themself face their old apprentice. Which wasnt fair to him, at all. Maybe after this they could hang out, but for now there were kinda more pressing things.
"Hey puppy? Uh, Mudtrot and Foxskipper just passed away, one after another. Can you do a quick chew to make sure it was natural causes? Dont want this to be a sign of trouble we just assumed was normal." It was probably nothing honestly, but after the plague better safe then sorry. Sickness was banned.


"After I was gonna take them to the rise to bury them and I was wondering if you could come with and say a short prayer or something, to comfort Orangeflower and Hivepaw or guide their souls with the starcave being down or something. Just thought it'd be nice."
Words were all you could give the dead really and Mudhound wanted to give that respect.

Wolf is not out as demi yet !!

It was taking a bit for the medic to recover from his sickness, but he was feeling better very fast, and that was good. However he still found himself sleeping most of the day away. Thankfully, nothing major had happened lately like there have been the past few moons.

He whipped his head around at the sound of his former mentor's voice. Muddy was talking to them! It had been so long. Wolfhawk bounced over with a smile on their face, but slowly morphed into a look of sadness. oh. elders passing away. surprisingly, he hadn't seen an elder pass, most of the time they'd go missing or get killed by something else.

"sure," the tripod mumbled, limping closer to the bodies. His green eyes grazed over the elder's fur and sniffed to see if he could find any other signs, but none were to be found. "No injuries or scent of sickness, it was natural causes," the large medic told the hornet. It was strange how fast wolfhawk had grown over the past two moons - he was close to rivaling mudhound in size (although it was clear he was shorter then the older cat).

"Yeah, I'll come n say a few words. Fine by me," Wolfhawk told them, glancing around the clearing. "Do ya know where Orangeflower n Hivepaw are?" they inquired, tilting their head to the side.

He was gone... finally. Their father had finally stopped showing up in camp. Perhaps he'd given up on them and their litter, perhaps something had happened. Either way, Mallow didn't care. The torbie point kit let out a sigh as they stared out into the Thunderclan camp, narrowed olive green eyes carefully scanning the clearing.

They'd been doing their best to stay close to the rest of their family, especially after their sibling disappeared. Losing both their parents wasn't too big to Mallowkit. Well... it was big- but there was no point dwelling on it. Life must go on. The Thunderclan kit sighed softly. Making their way toward the fresh kill pile. They picked up a bird and settled in by the nursery. They took one last look around camp for their siblings before taking a bite of their prey.

Today was... weird.
No sign of dad or anything.
Definitely weird.
No mom nearby either.
Had she been paying attention that little?

Ivykit, despite her best interests, had walked out of the nursery.
She spotted Mallow.
At least one of her siblings were out here, so she wouldn't hate being out as much.

Mallow doesn't look very happy, though.
Hm.
Words aren't Ivykit's thing, she can use them, she just isn't good at comforting others, but maybe she can try something else.

Ivykit quietly walked over to Mallow, and quietly sat next to them.
She wasn't sure if she should say something, so she just sat there for now.

Sighing in relief that this wasnt a greater issue the tripod leaned down (but not as down as they once needed to) and rasped a tongue over Wolfhawks head in thanks, purring at him briefly. "Thanks puppy, I know its not fun but its nice to do." Head craning up to look around for the aforementioned family members the hornet mused "Actually there might be more cats, Foxskipper had more relations. Uuuuuuhhh... Sit here with the bodies for a moment, Ill go inform everyone."



Setting down Mudtrot and Foxskippers bodies gently the maine coon padded off across the clearing and inform the family. It wasnt a small number too. Hivepaw, Orangeflower, Spiderpaw, Dragonflycliff, Chasmpaw, Fawnpaw, and Darkwing at least and the hornet was praying they didnt miss anyone. Each got the same words.
"Can I get your time for a moment? Im really sorry to tell you but I just found Foxskipper and Mudtrot passed in the elders den. I promise you it was peaceful and simply old age, and me and Wolfhawk are soon to take the bodies to the rise for the funeral.



The choice is up to you of course, but as their family youve the most right to be there, if you want to come, we'll leave in a moment."


Perhaps it was sudden, to inform these cats their kin was dead and then trying to wrangle them all to the funeral out of camp quickly but it was risky to leave corpses for long. Safer for everyone really to do this now, if they couldnt handle it now Mudhound would tell them where the grave was so they could visit later.


Padding back to Wolfhawk and sighing over how sad this whole thing was the tripod leaned against the medicine cat, cuddling and meowing a low "We'll wait to see who gathers and head out soon while the weather is still good." already tired.
