Alpinepaw was not paying any attention to Beetlepaw as she was absorbed in her thoughts. She looked around while thinking. There were a few cats in here. Most of them were talking to each other.
A small puff of air escaped Sprucejumper at the sight of Snotzilla, looking positively less snotty and a lot more sunny. Perhaps the time off had done her some good? Maybe she had learned to cope with loss. It was such a constant no matter where you were in life. Might as well get used to it as soon as possible. Less potential to be rendered a sobbing mess when reality reared its ugly head round a corner in life you simply weren't expecting to encounter devastation at. He was careful to remain detached from the situation, however. No need to question his apprentice over her own private matters. He was here to teach her, as she had already asked. How? Well... he would burn that bridge when he got to it, now wouldn't he?
A nod was the solitary response Sunpaw got to her question, the silent warrior feeling as though a verbal answer was simply not worth the effort in this instance. Deadpanned eyes swept over the golden tabby, hiding his surprise at finding himself for the first time not being younger or the same age as an apprentice he was spending time with. His last apprentice had been a whole moon younger than him from what he'd heard. Of course, having never met the tom, he didn't know how that training would have been handled, but awkward might have been one of the choice descriptors for it if he had to garner a guess. Was this what growing old felt like? The age gap between Sunpaw and himself were still leagues beneath the age gap between himself and The Boulder, though, but if he were reading her age correctly, then she was almost at the point he had done his own assessment. Which meant one thing... Her training was probably almost done, correct?
"Education?"
Despite his mostly blank countenance, Sprucejumper lifted a brow in query. It would do her no good for him to repeat lessons that she had already accomplished with her previous mentor, assuming she had any knowledge within her already. Especially with the tight restrictions on ThunderClan right now. Even he couldn't go out without escort while the owl was menacing the forest's floor from above. Which meant that every trip needed to count for something. Such as learning something new. Or reinforcing knowledge that Snotzilla might be wanting to practice. Just... please not fighting. Heavens knew he probably only barely passed that part of his assessment after The Boulder squashed him flatter than a kit shaped leaf in autumn.
Sunpaw I'm chasing dreams since I left the womb + she/her + The collector [active]
Sunpaw had no initial opinion on this one that stood before her with so little words to be said. She hadn't really talked to others who would only say one word and nothing else, conversation was her thing. She was sure that it was possible to work with, she just needed to translate in her mind what he was trying to say. However, she did like that her new mentor was more willing to check on her and actually be a mentor. Her last one hadn't tried to greet her when she first got assigned to them, guess they didn't care. That was over with now and she was back home and with a new mentor, one who seemed a hundred times better. For a moment she stared blankly at the other after the one-word response, it took her a bit to think about it okay? "OH!" ok yeah, she got some training done, not a lot but it was better than nothing that was for sure. "Nothing much, though Mrs. Hawk had taught me some battle!" and she sure enjoyed the lesson that she had given.

Okay so she’d really taken her time to do this after that last meeting, but better late than never. Making her way over to the apprentices' den, Snakefang looked around for her new apprentice — only to remember she had no idea what they looked like. Okay the name might’ve been a giveaway, but how could she be sure?
"Hey Goldenpaw, you in there?" She asked, stepping a little bit inside the den.
@nyme (I’ll get the thread set up just after they leave to start training!)

GOLDENPAW . 6 MOONS . HE/SHE/THEY . THUNDERCLAN
Truth is, Goldenpaw is pretty golden...but only in some places. The game was rigged from the start!! The chiefest of those golden places, her thick tail, is draped over her face while she sleeps in for yet another day in a row. It's not that Goldenpaw sees no issue with her apparent laziness, just that she's got no idea what to do with her body's sudden urge to just sleep and sleep and sleep all day besides heed that urge. Besides, this nest is very cozy. Who can blame her?
Luckily she's only dozing at this point, and not so deep in it that she can't hear her own name being called.
"Uyeah tha's me!" Goldenpaw gurgles sleepily, rolling like a pillbug out of her nest. This is the wrong move; she over-rotates and has to battle gravity, the ground, and her on stupid twisty body to figure out how to get her paws back under herself. "Noo.....ghhhh—imme a sec,"
Aannnnnnd, ta-da! Like some pompous bird dancing for attention, the apprentice pops up miraculously, feathery tail lifted—a banner of victory. He blinks roundly at the warrior and practices his biggest, sunniest grin.
"Whassup, buddy, you needed me? Hey, g'mornin' by the way." It doesn't matter to him whether it's actually morning time, mind. He is his own sun, and the day starts when he does. Goldenpaw blinks slowly at the warrior, picking his brain. Who uh...who?
Oh! Snakefang! Right, rightrightright. He remembers being all excited on account of her cool name.
"Hey it's YOU! You're Sssssssssnakefang, yeah? Gonna help me get all strong 'n warriorly? This is gonna rule,"
Alpinepaw sighed and whimpered while sitting down at the very back of the den. Her fur was too clean and a bit overgroomed. Something was gnawing at her. She started to think that she would never have any close friends. Alpinepaw was alone mentally, and she laid down, facing the wall.
"Aye, that’s right. Lookin' forward to training I take it?" She took a few steps back outside the den. "Let’s go then, anythin' in particular ye wanna start with?"
@nyme (her posts aren’t usually this short, just early in the morning and I’m far from a morning person XD)

BeetlePaw was busy cleaning out a nest, but from the corner of her eye she could see Alpinepaw. She let out a sigh. “Maybe you should talk to cats more.” She seemed too busy to taunt the apprentice, a rare occasion where Beetlepaw actually says something nice.
Alpinepaw listened to Beetlepaw. She knew that she could not talk more because she was too shy. Alpinepaw's whimpering grew quiet as she did not want to draw any attention to herself. She continued laying down on the bare ground.
