Ohh boy, drama. Yay. From his corner in camp, Hollowpaw had watched the grieving cats, he'd steered clear for this dead was not someone important. To him, he tells himself, shying away from the meaner remark that this cat was also not important to the Clan. He still thinks it, but he does not acknowledge the thought any more than the second it pops into his head. Ashpaw is not a cat payed attention to - he'd heard the rumors, of course, that this cat spoke with the dead, but it wasn't enough for Hollowpaw to really care about her.
And then the spirit appears right there in the clearing. And all Hollowpaw can do is blink.
He's seen spirits before, but never while awake. He thinks he's just seeing things at first, but then others acknowledge it. Hollowpaw doesn't react more than just watching. Bumblestar makes an appearance. The spirit vanishes after spouting some nonsense empty threats about always watching. And Bumblestar rounds on Ashpaw, confronts her about the spirit, and the moron confirms that she knows of it. She's exiled. She's angry. Claims the name Ashwhisper now. Hollowpaw will never use it. It was not earned.
Figkit watched the scene unfold with widened eyes, unsure what to do. Did the Clan often argue this much? She had barely left the nursery enough to know for sure. Even more concerning was her brother Eveningkit's response, loud and sobbing into their mother's fur. A knot of anxiety filled her chest, taking in all of the negative feelings in the clearing. It wasn't as if there was anything she could do - she didn't even know what they were arguing about!
Uncharacteristically quiet, she leaned against Eveningkit and Whitesplotch, pressing into their fur and looking up at her mother. "...I wanna hear the story..."
Whitesplotch purred and licked over her son's fur, attempting to comfort him. Her heart ached to hear him sob like that. "Shh... Shh. I'll explain with a story, how's that sound?"
She then looked at her daughter and touched her nose to the kittens. "Well, get the rest of your siblings then. This story's a long one too!" She mewed before going back to tending to Eveningkits little tantrum. This one was so fussy it was no wonder Cinder didn't come over. She quickly shook the rude thought out of her head. He was a kit after all.

Eveningkit nodded, his fur flattening as he straightened himself. He wrapped his tail around Figkit, a surge of sorrow running through him. He needed to protect her! He needed to protect all his littermates! Ok, Mama. He sniffled. He kept turning around, as if hoping his father would come and join them.

Ashpaw quickly dodged out of the way of Bumblestar’s claws, before giving her a cold stare. Since the cat was the clan leader’s height, it was easier to look her in the eye.
She wasn’t scared anymore.
No, why would she? Bumblestar wasn’t her leader anymore. She never deserved to be in the first place.
“Fine. I will leave. But this wont be the last time you see me. And I won’t be coming back for sanctuary — no, NO!” she yowled.
Ashpaw stepped closer to Bumblestar.
“Thunderclan was never the place for me in the first place. I knew I couldn’t trust you to let me stay. You’d only end up exiling me anyway. But it wasn’t even my fault for this!”
Ashpaw backed away slowly, a harsh glare plastered on her face.
She turned to the clan,
“And don’t even THINK about calling me by that name you once knew. My name is no longer Ashpaw. I should have never entrusted the Clans with teaching me their silly rules.
My name is now Ashwhisper, and by Starclan will the Clans know off it by heart.”
Ashwhisper suddenly grinned. An evil, evil grin. “You all will regret abandoning me like this. Your time of reckoning will come, and I will be the one to reap your spirits once the new moon rises. Goodbye, Thunderclan. I will not miss your rotten souls.”
And with that, she swiftly dashed out of the clearing. She was gone, hopefully for good. But she knew she shouldn’t have left Nettlepaw behind.

Nettlepaw had come out of the apprentices’ den by now, and was absolutely horrified at the scene. As Ashwhisper left, they could only yowl an echo of her thoughts.
“ASHPAW! NO! YOU CAN’T- YOU CAN’T LEAVE!”
Tears welled in their eyes as they began to sob. Their only living relative was gone. Before they knew it, they would probably see her washed up dead like their father and mother.
This wasn’t fair.
Dandelionmane ♦ They / Them ♦ Thunderclan warrior ♦ 17+ moons
Dandelionmane had been lounging in the warrior's den when everything began to go down. With a yawn, they pushed themself to their paws, blinking sleep from their eyes as their pale gaze scanned the camp clearing
Oh! Ashpaw, Nettlepaw's sister and some cat- Wonder who that... wait-
The warrior's eyes narrowed, was that a ghost? They wondered to themself, scanning the clearing, everyone else seemed to be seeing it too. Their pale gaze returned to the ghost
But just as quick as Dandelion saw the ghost it was gone, told to leave by Bumblestar herself. The pure white warrior listened carefully to what everyone was saying, a frown crossed their maw as they heard Bumble's final verdict, exiling Ashpaw.
They noticed Nettlepaw exiting the apprentice den, suddenly learning of their sister's exile. Their frown deepened as they rushed over, pressing against Nettle's side, giving a sympathetic look "I'm sorry Nettles" They said softly to their apprentice, resting their fluffy white tail on the dark apprentice's back.
Trying to claim a warrior name? Bumblestar could only sneer at Ashpaw as the she-cat spat useless nonsense. "Time of reckoning" her ass. She was gone. No longer a problem.
Her attention turned to Echobarley as the warrior continued the trend of spewing meaningless slop, and only moved to block Rosekit from his view once his ire had turned to her. Then they were both gone. "If I see either of you on ThunderClan land again, you're dead!" she roared after them.
Huffing, she looked back down at Moonfur's body. For as much as she wanted to, Wolfhawk's previous shouted threat of sickness prevented her from getting any closer, so she opted to silently mutter her apologies to the dead warrior for the chaos from where she stood.
"Take care of the body," she grunted to Spiderthroat. "Then go see Wolfhawk after. Don't need you getting sick."
She took a moment to survey the rest of the clearing. Rosekit clung to her, Hivepaw seemed distraught, the other kits present seemed riled up enough, and Nettlepaw... Bumblestar flattened her ears. She'd have to talk to them later. Maybe Hivepaw, too.
"Go with Sunpaw," she muttered to Rosekit, before raising her head. "Whitesplotch! Get the rest of the kits in the nursery. Been enough excitement."
Bumblestar hissed through her teeth. "The rest of you, listen to me 'n listen clearly. The next time I hear about anyone gettin' involved with that spirit, or any other spirit for that matter, you may as well save me the trouble 'n go. We're healin' from a plague. Cats've died 'n we're tryin' to resettle. If you have time to talk to the dead, you have the time to make yourselves useful 'n put yourselves to work! Take a wild guess at which one I'd rather see. If I find out you're prioritizin' ghosts over your Clanmates who still breathe, I'll handle you like I've handled every other traitor in this Clan. I don't care how you help. Hunt, patrol the borders, fix up nests, guard the camp, keep the kits entertained - anything is better than wastin' precious seconds chasin' after the dead! Get to work or get the hell out."
Her head pounded. She'd have to bother Hollowpaw later. For now, she stepped off to the side, eyeing the current group of cats.
@/dragonwind - echobarley left on his own, but as of this post he's considered exiled. he risks being attacked and/or killed if he's seen near or in TC territory. ]
FireflyPaw (for once) had been resting, unfortunately for her, it was whenever the most ruckus seemed to be happening in camp. Boo-boo for her, she missed it all. By time she scrambled herself up, did her best to get her pelt clean and organized, and made her debut into the clearing for the day, it appeared most the entertainment was over, all she saw was a dashing away apprentice. She had heard a bit of the pathetic speech, but honestly had no clue what it was over. So, she made her way to her father, a curious yellow gaze on his. “Dad…what happened?” the she muttered, now confused by Aunty Bumbles demeanor, as well as the body in the clearing.

Mallowkit ♦ She / Her ♦ Thunderclan kit ♦ 2+ moons
Wait- What was going on in camp? She did her best to evade her mother's paws to be able to listen to what was going on. Curiosity burned brightly in her olive eyes as she looked out at the clearing.
Woah!
"Ma! Why's that cat sleeping out in camp?" She asked loudly, pointing towards Moonfur's body in camp with a paw, before looking back toward her mother, head tilted.
Did Whitesplotch think a simple story would stop this line of questioning? Absolutely not! Mallowkit managed to wriggle out of her mother's grasp and almost slip into the camp clearing before Cinder picked her up and dropped her on the sibling pile once more.
The pointed torbie kit pouted, glaring up at her parents.

Cindersmoke ♠ He / Him ♠ Thunderclan warrior ♠ 37+ moons
He'd been watching everything unfold in camp, he didn't particularly care either way, not knowing Moonfur, Ashpaw nor Echobarley. Their presence in Thunderclan made no difference to his life.
The ruckus this was causing in the nursery though, that WAS his problem. A frustrated sigh escaped his maw as he heard the piercing cry of one of his sons, Eveningkit likely. He'd always been a dramatic softy, eurgh. Reminded him too much of his own mother.
The gray and black tom wrinkled his nose at the thought of having to deal with those creatures, but alas, he had to. He had to keep his sweet Whitesplotch safe, and unfortunately for him, with her, came them. A softer sigh escaped his maw as he prepared himself to enter the nursery.
Immediately unprepared for Mallow's question, he furrowed his brows, his jaw remaining shut tightly as he mentally stumbled around for the right words to say. He watched her trying to slip past him into the clearing, but managed to snag her by the scruff before dropping her back on her siblings.
His cold blue glare locking on the entire litter, hoping to scare the rest of them into staying put.

Any ghosts...? Marigold often visited his dead brother, did that count? The chimera kit narrowed her eyes, no. It couldn't count, and it's not like Bumble could stop them in their dreams. The kit silently observed the in camp chaos.
