She paused in her rapid pass as the clan began gathering below her. It was a literal struggle to keep herself still and watch the cats below. Her ears were alert and erect, listening to the meows beneath the high advantage point. Few dared to utter anything about the leader's visible anger.

Dawnstar was rarely happy, content was the best it was going to get with her, and anger was second nature with her. Her anger often came in stages of wanting to maim and severely injure, to murderous induced rage, and finally her unhinged, uncaring, madness. It's been a long time since she hit the latter, but today she was almost there.

Her eyes were naturally drawn to the source or rather cause of her ire, Larkf-- Lostspark. She was sitting with Darkfall, who honestly at this point, also contributed to Dawnstar's horrible mood. It wasn't purposely their fault, but they played their part in upsetting the leader. She might have missed him if it hadn't been for Dawnstar grandkit, Sleepykit, joining her blind mother. There was another kit with Lostspark and Darkfall. It wasn't ShadowClan.

Dawnstar knew every cat within ShadowClan, as it was her job to know those in her clan, but that kitten was unfamiliar. Did Lostspark and Darkfall adopt a new kit... no they still have to go through her to get the kit into the clan. Plus, Darkfall had made a point of bringing her his kits when he returned with them. It seemed foolish that he'd not bring her that one.

Has the kit been hiding in the medicine den? Dawnstar tilted her head, anger forgotten, as she stared long and hard at the kitten.

"Darkfall, bring me that strange kit," Dawnstar demanded glaring at the unknown kit. The mountainous she-cat brown fur remained standing on edge as she finally took a seat on the Shadowledge.

"Spiderkit, Eaglekit, Littlekit, Flamekit, Glowingkit, come gather beneath the Shadowledge or your apprentice ceremonies." She yowled without removing her gaze from the medicine den.

Despite the seemingly obvious aggressiveness, Poppykit gazed at the leader in admiration from the nursery! Gu- oh ya.. Only kits from other litters stood around her. She had no siblings and her mother had gone missing. She was sad and alone…

Swampstream stayed inside, air too cold for him.

Gentlebloom was with her ktis.

Softpaw was in the apprentice's den.

Hiddenkit ran back inside when she saw how furious her leader was.

The young molly glanced up at the leader as she started announcing apprentice ceremonies. She smiled a little, remembering he own one. The commotion that was happening was somewhat aware to her, but she decided to not pay attention because it wasn't her business.

Nightstalker glared at the kit, the senior she-cat crouched like a loaf of bread.

Mothcloud gathered with her kits and helped her mate not step on the wild kits.

As Darkfall took too long to follow simple orders, Dawnstar tore her intense glare away from the medicine den and settled it on the kits below her.

"From this day until you receive your warrior names, you'll be known as Littlepaw, Flamepaw, Eaglepaw, Spiderpaw, and Glowingpaw." Dawnstar announced and then looked into the crowd of cats.

"Cougarbite, it's been some time since you've last taken an apprentice. You'll mentor Glowingpaw. Pearnose, your apprentice is Flamepaw. Silentraven, you'll mentor Littlepaw. Flamegaze, you'll train Eaglepaw. Spiderpaw, your mentor is Flowerblaze."

As Dawnstar fell into a more mundane role of everyday tasks, she'd like to think that her temper simmered, but it just boiled underneath the surface.

"Reassignments. Bumbleclaw you'll train Featherpaw. Stagskull your with Shadepaw. Nightstalker you'll take over Wasppaw's training. Mistlewhisker, you have Squirrelpaw as your apprentice. Ibispaw your with Shrewstep. Dovedance you have Lostpaw." Now on to the troublesome idiots.

"Eggpaw, as you've lost yet another mentor and have failed to show any interest in actually completing your training. You will be meeting me in my den and I will be deciding whether you are fit for clan life or not." Eggpaw should have been a warrior some time ago. Honestly, he should be embarrassed to even still be in the apprentice den. It seemed he had aboustely no motivation to get anything done.

"Leapmoon, Brokentalon, Starrywhisper. As you've all been demoted for failing a patrol. You'll be known as Leappaw, Brokenpaw, and Starrypaw. You will be resettling in the apprentice den, and you'll be given mentors to finish your training. You are to be treated as apprentices and are not allowed to leave camp without a warrior. Those of you who do not carry out your punishments promptly will be booted out of my clan. You know what you did to get punished, you know what you have to do to get your warrior statues returned, get it done, or get out."

"Tangledrose you'll be mentoring Brokenpaw, Snakestorm, you have Leappaw, and Chirpshine you have Starrypaw. I trust you'll apprentices will fill you in on what needs to get done with their training as it is their heads on the line here." Dawnstar hissed warningly at the three fools.

"Vulturefang, those who repeatedly fail their patrols, I expect harsher punishments to be handed down," Dawnstar growled to her deputy, knowing for a fact that Leappaw had failed patrols multiple times now, and was continuing to do so.

Cloudpaw slightly smiled, nervously. He turned to give the new apprentices a small nod and smile of welcoming to the rank of apprentice, cheering each of their new names. “Little paw, Flamepaw, Eaglepaw, Spiderpaw, Glowingpaw!” before cringing a bit as the rest of what Dawnstar’s words came out. He felt bad for the warriors that were now demoted back to apprentice. That must suck! He hoped that’d never happen to him.

Dovedance
ShadowClan Warrior

A dappled, stocky silver-and-white pseudo-tabby she-cat was sitting in the clearing, her ears perking up as she heard Dawnstar call her name.

Looking around, Dovedance's amber gaze narrowed as she searched for her new apprentice, Lostpaw, in the crowd of cats. Spotting Lostpaw, the warrior got to her paws and padded over.

Dovedance dipped her head respectfully to the young cat.

''Greetings, Lostpaw,'' She meowed, voice soft yet firm. ''I am your mentor, Dovedance. It's a pleasure to meet you, and I'm sure you'll learn well.''

In a lower tone of voice, Dovedance added. ''I'm honored to get to mentor you, but we will need to set a few ground rules.''

The warrior whisked her tail. ''Rule one, you are to listen to what I say at all times, older than me or not. I'm not playing around, and Dawnstar will have my tail if she catches me treating you like you run the Clan.''

''Rule two: You are to do as I say when I tell you to do it, Lostpaw. Understand?'' Dovedance watched Lostpaw through narrowed eyes.

''Last, but certainly not least, rule three. Try your best to have fun. As your mentor, Lostpaw, I should be a cat you know you can trust and confide in. But I can't do that if I have to yowl at you to listen or straighten up all the time.''
