Re: ShadowClan Nursery
Beetlekit stepped around the camp, still close enough to the nursery in case she had to come back in early. She grinned as she found a few stray rocks in front of her. Beetlekit sat in front of them, admiring the appearances of each of them. Rocks are wonderful. Even though some would say they look the same, the edges of each are completely different! Her tail flicked with excitement as she gazed at them. How could something so small have such an impact on a kit?

Midnighkit squeezed themselves inside the nursery and padded over to their nest, feeling tired. They laid down to rest, Midnightkit curled into a tight ball, wrapping their tail around themselves and resting their eyes.

As part of her little tour around the camp to learn where everything was, Firepaw decided to pay a visit to the nursery. She wasnt really all that familiar with kits, (the only kits she had ever seen were her siblings, and that was while she was also a kit), so maybe she could learn a bit about them while she was here. Caring for the clans young was also important after all, and she wanted to adquire every single skill she could to proove herself usefull. Maybe she could find a queen to help out or meet some of the kits, some of them would become fellow apprentices in just a couple of moons, it would be a good idea to get to know them.
The older apprentice trotted inside the nursery, her paws very carefull to not step on any little fuzzballs once she was inside the burrow, and inspected her sorroundings, the warm scent of milk filling her nostrils as soon as she breathed in. Memories of her own kithood flushing back to her mind, her and her siblings wrapped around their mother's tail, resting on top of a warm, confy kittypet nest, listening to the old she-cat's stories, some about rogues, some about twolegs, many about ShadowClan... Firepaw shook her head. Those times where over, she loved those memories dearly, but she had to move on, longuing for her previous life too much could be dangerous. she tried to refocus herself with the task at hand, find someone to help, she could fetch something for a queen, help distract the kits... Whatever any cat needed from her.
Otterkit Woke up, light brown eyes shining in the light of the sun shining through the nursery entrance, blinking as it hurt them some, they were still trying to get used to the life of not having any parents or siblings to help them live. They cuddled up to the stuffed bear that was their mom's. The medicine cat let them keep it in memory, it was soft and silky brown. Their little head rubbed against it, facing the bear shielding from the light of the sunrise. He was getting used to their daily wake up time their body had somehow set for them.
They decided to walk around today, they didnt do it alot as they stayed in a little corner in the nursery, there was moss in their little corner that they slept in, they got up and stretched, speckled toe pads pressing the ground lightly while a tiny mouth was carrying their stuffed bear.

Firepaw continued walking deeper inside the den and sat near one of the walls, where she had a good angle to inspect the whole nursery, in hopes from there she could spot a queen or kit that needed her help. All around there were queens sitting in their nests, some playing with their kits, some feeding them, their little fuzzballs clinguing to their belly. She also noticed plenty of playfull kits all around, playing with eatchother, batting at mossballs or pawing at eatchother in mock-fighting... And a single kit curled up in their nest, no parents to be found. Firepaw gave another scan to the nursery to try to find the kits parents, but she came up emty, no queen quite looked like them, and no cat seemed to be looking after them either. That was... Odd, to say the least. A kitten so young should have parents to help raise them, or at least a caretaker in case they were missing. However, as she was about to approach a queen about what was going on with the kit, giving the young cat a second glance gave Firepaw the awnser. The kit carried something familiar. Soft, fuzzy, brown... The smell also felt familiar, not exactly just like she remembered it, but similar enough: A twoleg toy, a "teddy bear", she thought. Was this kit also an ex-kittypet? Maybe, or maybe the kits parents were loners and managed to steal one of these stuffed toys for their their kit. Either way, now she was curious, the possivility of meeting with someone like her being far too thempting, even if it was just a kit. Firepaw stood up from her sitting spot and padded over to the kit, very carefull with her paws to not step on any wandering kittens, and crouched down near the kits nest, nudging them gently with her muzzle to gain their attention.
"Hey, little guy." She said, her tone soft and quiet as to not startle the kit."If you dont mind me asking... Where did you get this?" She continued, pointing at the stuffed animal with her tail.
Light brown, glimmering eyes looked up, startled by the apprentice that had came up too them. The apprentice asked about their teddy bear, they looked up at the apprentice, for some reason getting a trusting feeling, the voice of the apprentice was so soft and calm, and kind. Something that otterkit has never heard before. He noticed the apprentice was kinda desperate to be friends with them. They laid down in the corner as the apprentice asked about the teddy bear, they didnt know them, if he let them touch the bear they could steal it! But this apprentice they could trust, at least they think so in their little mind.
"Um.....hewo...." they said nervously, never spoken to anyone before, this was their first time speaking to anyone, their surprised they even spoke. "Um...t-this bear was..m-my...mommy's....um..i dont have....any..siblings...i have this bear....because..the medicine cat..um...let me...keep it..." they said softly, and kindly, trying not to spook the apprentice infront of them, being as nice as possible as this is the first time they have been spoken to. "I-i dont have...any...siblings...or..parents." they didnt expect to be saying that so soon, it just came out, they couldnt stop it. It was like they wanted to talk, wanted to hear themselves talk more. But they were going to wait for an answer this time, no more talking to overwhelm the apprentice infront of them.

"Oh, I see... You come from outside the clan? Maybe you belongued to some twolegs before? Or were your parents loners?" So he was an outsider, that explained it. It was disheartently common for kits and their parents to be separated by those twolegged monsters, for their enjoyment, or for their convenience, or for... Whatever wicked reason they did it, that was the why she had ended up in Shadowclan after all. The apprentice let out a little sigh, at least she was glad the little kit was able to keep a memento of his mother, the medicine cat (whoever they were, she hadnt had the pleasure of meeting them yet, though she hoped that if she did it wasnt becouse they had to go to their den for something) was very kind to let them keep the suffed animal, she guessed most Shadowclan warriors wouldnt be thrilled to see such a twoleg object in their camp. The apprentice gave the kit a warm smile, they were like her, in a way, in an unfamiliar clan, with unfamiliar cats, and with the only things you thought of as familiar so, so far away. She came here willingly, after being separated from her mother, but this kit... She guessed not so much. This little fella was just a kit, sure, but Firepaw couldnt help but feel a bit of comradery towards them. She wasnt the only one, and even if this kit wasnt a kittypet, instead an ex-loner or rogue, it would still be conforting to have another outsider friend, even if they were a third of her age. Maybe she would make a habit of visiting the nursery to check up on them.
Firepaw looked back at the kit and smiled, a small glint of mischief in her eyes, maybe she could cheer up this kit's day. "Well, either way... If you have gotten here, that means you deserve to know something..." She continued, a hint of dramatism in her voice. The apprentice tapped the little kit with her tail and crouched as low as she could manage to be at their eye level. "You wanna know a secret?"Firepaw leaned in to speak in Otterkit's ear, her voice low and quiet "I'm an outsider, like you!" Firepaw lenaed away from the kit with a smile. "Yeah, we both come from outside the clan, so we are kind of the same boat here, nice to see im not the only one!"
A little curious face came up on the kit. they only knew what loners were from their mommy's stories, not two legs. They had never been outside of the camp before, the kit shook their head, having a little itch and rubbing their tiny little paws against their face, opening their tiny maw to speak. "W-well...im not an outsider! My m-mommy was one....before coming t-to the clans...." they said quietly, mimicking the whisper that firepaw had, not knowing how they should speak so they mimicked the person they were talking to, they let out a little smile, a teethy smile it was and always was.
They got out of the laying position and sat down, keeping their bear a good distance away from the apprentice infront of them, they couldnt risk loosing the bear. "I-i'm...kinda all alone....b-but! I like it....like that!" even though that was obviously a lie, and they didnt like to be alone, but it was something they couldnt control because no kits or queens wanted them. They thought the teddy bear was weird and that a kit shouldnt be reminded of the life their parent had in the loner world, they needed to worry about warrior stuff, how they will be when they grow up or just try to be the best person they could be but sometimes it's hard. you can hurt someone and they say that they forgive you the next day then they turn away from you. Life isn't easy in otterkit's point of view. Life is something they are gonna learn about along the way. They already know about living and dieing, and trama what else more is there to know about this life!
@Lil'Ember <3 sorry for the random vent at the end of otterkit's post, i couldnt hold in my feelings and had to do it some way or another, im so sorry again.
