RiverClan Patrols

Right a good number had gathered and the late comers could listen in and catch up while he was explaining their lateness was on them. So with an ear flick he began.

"Alright in the past Ive sent out cats in full patrols to do herb gathering but that has been inefficient so Im sending you in pairs after a specific herb. Sorrelhawk @tulle you and Morningpaw @littlelove are going after dandelion leaves, their flowers should be white and puffy if they havent already blown away by now. Seaspray @Papaya take Featherpaw @Silverfur & Co go after borage, blue flowers fuzzy leaves and stems I need the leaves. Wormbite @x ghostie and Looncry @Jackolantern Jay you two will be with me you'll be getting chamomile white flowers with a yellow center and very soothing mild leafy scent. Ill be grabbing burnet personally but you dont need to worry about that I just need an escort." Winter was setting in and predators would be getting hungrier and the dangers of the territory would be more prevailent. A untrained medicine cat would stand no chance, it was smart to stick some warriors just in case. "Finally Birdbrain @spade you can be with Plumstorm @implimm starclan knows you two need to get along now that shes a shield, youre on cobwebs."


Plumstorm in general still made him nervous and now that she was a shield someone outta the high ranks needed to have a rapport with her for ease of communication. Snakeheart was determined to not be that high rank so foisting the molly off on his brother was the best option, the Birdbrain did kinda owe him anyway.


No time limit for this just report when youre done in this thread passing over the herbs to snake and mention me! If a patrol mate stops responding feel free to wrap up and finish without them! Cats can carry five herbs max.

Truth be told, Kestrelstar had been over at the base of the Streamstone zoning out on nothing in particular. His mind felt like a puddle despite all of the responsibility he still had on his shoulders. It felt nice, to not worry about anything. To let the day slip by unaccounted for into just another memory...

But the voice of Snakeheart roused the RiverClan leader from his aimless daydream, and confused eyes flickered over to where he was positioned in the middle of camp. Wait had he paired him with... of course. Swallowing a bit, Kestrelstar rose to his paws and headed over. He hadn't really spoken with Plumstorm since their fateful night near the WindClan border. Still, he cast a knowing look forward the molly for a second before nodding to Snakeheart. "You got it Snakebite," came the leader's reply, lips twitching into a smile as he watched his brother. "Cobwebs coming up."

Returning his attention back to his companion, he sucked in a breath before letting it out slowly. "Ready?"

Cobwebs? "Don't you think you could use all the catmint you could get?" the silver cat complains under her breath. Still... Her gaze wanders again as she wonders if Kestrelstar would approach- And she freezes for a heartbeat as she catches his eye. But, nearly without missing a beat, Plumstorm clocks her chin up and sighs airily. There is a mischievous glimmer to her sky blue hues. "Very well. Our all-powerful and far too confused leader needs a babysitter to watch him collect cobwebs outside. How noble I must be to be chosen as his guardian."

Flicking her tail, the shield-warrior turns and motions to Kestrelstar, ignoring his second look. "I'll already be gone, if you really want to stand and chat. Come now, Kestrelstar."

Featherpaw nodded blue flower fuzzy leaves and stem "you got it snakeheart." She mews ready to go and pads toward the entrance to camp

Morningpaw arrived to the group of cats as Snakeheart called, and stood wearily near the back of the small clowder of cats. Her ear twitched a bit in interest as Kestrelstar's name was called, wondering why the leader would be bothered with busywork like collecting herbs, but it probably would end up freezing over soon. All paws on deck would be good.

Sorrelhawk? She hadn't chatted much with the rosetted warrior, but she knew the other molly was just a few moons her senior. She padded up, waving her tail in a slightly tired greeting. "You think dandelions are even out this late in the season? I hardly ever see them after green-leaf." She commented, hoping at least a couple of the tufted flowers would still be out. They would be good if Snakeheart ran low on poppy seeds.

Ooo, herb gathering! How exciting! He was a little late, but hey, that was all right, because they hadn't seemed to have left yet. So technically he was on time? Aye, let's go with that. Seaspray approached the group with a bounce in his step and a lopsided grin on his face. "Borage, aye aye, sir," he chirped as he neared. "Never heard o' that, but I'm sure it won't be a problem! Aaaannd- Oi, you there!" His expression was warm as he bounded over to Featherpaw. "I assume you're Featherpaw, aye? Going t' be my partner this afternoon?"

Featherpaw nods " Yeah that's me." She mews excitedly and looks at seaspray nods and was ready to go.

Turning a curious gaze towards Morningpaw - wasn't she one of the older apprentices? - Sorrelhawk offered a warm smile. "I sure hope so. Otherwise we'll be venturing out into the cold territory for nothing," she chirped, the fur around her neck fluffing out as if to prove her point. She hoped that this would be quick, although a thought did come to mind...

They were vague memories, distant, but she still recalled them nonetheless. Paws resumed their dance towards the camp entrance, gesturing with her tail for Morningpaw to follow. Lowering her voice, she replied, "I actually know where a really good patch grows. But we'd have to go a bit further than just the territory. It could be a little... adventure!" It was a risk, and though RiverClan's leadership knew of her kitty-pet past they had already done a lot by allowing her to join RiverClan all those moons ago, this could definitely put her in a negative light. Blue eyes were alit with excitement as she cast Morningpaw a look as they exited camp.

Trotting back into camp, Kestrelstar made a direct line for Splashleap. There was mild concern in his eyes, but it was mostly covered. He didn't want to alarm anyone else if there was no real reason too. "Splashleap," he called, beckoning the deputy over to where he was headed. Veering away and settling at the base of the Streamstone near his den, so that they were out of earshot of most of camp. "The winds near Sedgewater Valley were the strongest I've ever seen. I'm sure WindClan has got a handle, but any patrols that get sent there, just advise caution. We didn't mark them near the stream, and instead stayed back where the wind couldn't quite reach." Shuffling his paws absentmindedly, the RiverClan leader added, "I have a feeling we may find a few loose WindClan cats on our territory - the winds seemed strong enough to blow kits away, and perhaps even full grown warriors if they're not careful enough."

Waltzing back into camp, Kestrelstar spotted his brother nearby the medicine den entrance. Yellow eyes were sparkling and he appeared to be in probably one of the best moods Snakeheart could say he'd ever seen him in. "Found a bunch of cobwebs for you, Snakebite," he stated as he talked around the stick. Setting it on the ground and showing his front paws, he began to remove the clinging substance and move it onto the stick. Soon, it was filled as much as it could be with the webs. "That should be quite a few," he ended, rather proud of his collection.
