Cautiously padding over to Bumblestar's den, the small grey warrior attempted to lick down a few stray pieces of moss and debris that littered her pelt. She would need to make herself a new nest soon seeing as she'd practically torn apart her current one with her pacing around in circles in an attempt to psych herself up to speak with her leader outside of polite greetings every now and again.
Clearing her throat, Mistheart ran a final paw over her face before stepping up to the den entrance.
"Excuse me... Bumblestar, may I speak with you for a moment?"
Not hearing the approaching footsteps, Swanpaw nearly jumped out of their skin when they felt a touch at their shoulder and subsequently a brush past them into the den. ”I’M SORRRYYY DON’T EAT MEEE!” She wailed, jumping back.
Oh, false alarm. It was Bumblestar. There was just one thing…
That was worse.
Pelt burning hot with embarrassment, Swanpaw looked at the ground and dragged her feet as she followed after the clan’s leader. She was cooked. She had messed up so badly and now she was about to be exiled. She wouldn’t see Mommy, Daddy, Sunpaw, or even Elkpaw again! This was terrible, so very terrible…
”B-bumblyst-star.” She cringed inwardly as she once again made that mistake. Ears pinned against her head, she closed her eyes tightly and crouched down to make herself look smaller. ”M-may I a-a-ask you s-something?” She braced herself for the no, for the yelling she was sure to come. She deserved it after all, how could she mess up so much?

Being the last to follow in after Spiderthroat, limping up behind until she made it all the way into the den, Redhawk took a seat near the entrance. Owl. An owl had taken Springlight. Owls lived in trees. Trees that she couldn't climb anymore. What... what use would she be if she couldn't help in this situation?
Springlight was gone amidst all of this and Redhawk had never felt so hopeless about her paw situation. Looking down at the twisted, mangled, forever-altered useless limb, Redhawk sucked in a quiet, shaky breath. She had finally, finally, worked up the nerve to talk to the medicine cat about what her options could be - just in time for her to be gone. Drizzlecloud was always an option, but Redhawk didn't want to burden the retired medicine cat with such trivial matters.
Oh, right. Back to the topic at paw. "I t-think luring it out could prove dangerous..." the quiet hornet piped up, but immediately flattened her ears and shrank back a bit. "O-Or it could work well. With - with p-prey, yeah. But, um, owls are much b-better hunters t-than any of us c-could hope t-t-to be at night. A-And t-they sss-sleep during t-the day..." Truth be told, the reddish-brown warrior didn't really have much of an idea of what to do. On one paw if they lured it out and tried to take it down, owls were a lot larger than normal birds - she guessed that meant their talons were larger than normal, too.
"Maybe a-attacking during t-the day when it's sss-sleeping...?"

The tom's head snapped to the side as Redhawk walked in. Soundlessly standing up and walking closer to the molly. Swiping to gently lift the paw if she allowed and inspect. He wasn't an expert, but yep. That sure was a hurt paw. Humming and hawing in between her sentences "Ya really gotta stay off of this." he huffed beneath his breath.
Once she'd finished Spiderthroat looked at the Hornet. "Has your paw been looked at, at all?" he asked. Everyone was already voicing his concerns as well as his opinions, as soon as something differed the deputy will speak up. "Like the draw it out idea. Gotta figure out with what." he tossed out, while keeping attention on the hornet.

But these fingers and these palms
Full of love despite the scars
They show indisputably I have so much more to grow
Oh, I can change, I can evolve
I can get up when I fall
I'll live contentedly, I don't need a reason why
Standing tall and standing strong
I have found where I belong
In the arms of somebody, there is no more need to cry
"Then we'll go looking!" That was the easy part. "Maybe we can.. maybe we can find what's left of her, if anything, too.." At least that'd bring some closure, though a bitter one. She deserved more of a burial than being an owl pellet. "As much as I'd love to slaughter this thing when it's in its element at night, an owl would probably yoink one of us before we could even blink. We'd be better off luring it out with something it'd want 'n following it back to its nest. The question is, do we want to try using prey or do we want to put a cat up as bait? Whoever is used might end up like Springlight if we're not quick enough, but an owl's probably more likely to go for a cat than some mouse we throw out."
Wolfhive didn't miss how Redhawk looked at her paw or Spiderthroat's question regarding it, and tucked the observation away for later.
What did her brain mean she felt anxiety of all things while approaching Bumblestar's den with the bird she'd caught - a kestrel, now she cringed to think about it - clutched in her maw. It was a… peace offering? An apology? A please-don’t-delay-my-ceremony-please-please-pleaseeeee. She couldn’t afford to wait another moon, not when she had already practically told her father she’d be named next meeting.
Casting Brackenclaw a worried look over her shoulder, suddenly feeling the well of restlessness bubbling in her, Kestrelpaw exhaled shakily. It was now or never. Ignoring the blood trickling down her cheeks, making her injury look worse than it was, Kestrelpaw forced herself to stop lingering outside her leader’s den and go in. Immediately, she dropped the prey she’d caught to the floor.
“Um, Mrs. Star I kind of. Accidentally hurt myself.” Kestrelpaw grinned sheepishly, except her grin was probably more than a little off-putting considering the blood on her teeth. “Just kinda. Can you help me? You can also have.. this.” A paw gesture towards the dead bird.
Brackenclaw would remain beside the Apprentice for now. He didn't want to leave Bumblestar and Kestrelpaw if he could help in some way. Especially since a big contributor to this issue was that he wasn't fast enough when he saw the owl. Brackenclaw silently cursed himself for being too slow. Perhaps if he managed to jump on the owls back in time he could've stopped it from taking off with the Apprentice but he wasn't and because of that Kestrelpaw now had some nasty looking injuries. He waited with Kestrelpaw to see if his Leader would do anything to punish him for allowing an Apprentice to fet hurt. @Rose -Kestrelpaw @dino. -Bumblestar

Clearing his throat, he sits outside the leader's den after having brought his herbs to the medicine cat den. A patrol well done. No injuries, no fighting, just supplies and decent vibes. He couldn't ask for much more than that.
"Bumblestar? I took Acornfall and Sunpaw out on an herb patrol and brought back quite a bit. Everything we found has been put away."

The tripod still felt kinda rattled and shocked on the wake of that announcement, the knowledge that Springlight was just gone now. Mudhound had really liked miss feather-fluff, ironically enough bringing her large owl feathers she'd asked for on several occasions. It just... Seemed so random and cruel even though the maine coon knew this was just how life could be sometimes.
"She's really gone? Like theres no hope at all, at all?" The hope was desperate but deep down resigned already, the large cat drooping as they slunk into Bumblestars nest in a sort of self comfort.

He followed behind Bumblestar and Wolfhive as his name was called. Pawpads scraping against the floor. They got bested, by a damned Owl?? It made his blood boil thinking about it.
"Thing can pick up a whole cat with ease. How do we plan on killin it?" he asked as he walked in. "Owls are...fickle things, we'd have to get it during the day, and keep an eye out at night from what I'm rememberin."

Not much information on that wicked owl. Still, there had to be something they could do to avenge Springlight's death, to bring comfort to the ones close to her. "Mabye we could lure it out from it's nest, when we find it, with prey or something, and set up an ambush." She suggested, a bit wary about voicing the idea. Could be risky and lose resources in the process...but was it worth it when other cats lives were at stake?

"There wasn't a body," she answered Mudhound, words strained, "but the amount of blood was... it wasn't survivable. She's gone." It hurt to say the words out loud, even if it was necessary. Springlight had been something to her; not as close as Wolfhive, but close all the same. Family.
She sucked in a breath and let it go again. Most of them were saying the same thing about daytime, and luring. "So maybe we find the nest first. There'll be signs, I think - pellets, feathers, left-over prey scraps. If we can track it personally, even better. Then we could go in waves at night and kill it. A few patrols, just a few cats each. One for bait, a second to protect those cats, and then a third to get into the nest and destroy whatever might be in there, so if it gets out alive it has to leave."
It was difficult to keep her thoughts in order, but this was important. "Once we've dealt with it, we can go looking for... remains. So that we might have something to bury."
Grey paws padded into the leader's den, coming in with some serious information she has found out, she needed bumblestar to hear this immediately before it's to late. So she looked around looking for him, she finally spotted him. "Bumblestar, I have something serious to tell you." she said in a serious tone, to make sure she gets his attention.
If cats could just start with whatever was on their mind as soon as they entered, it would make things much easier. Bumblestar lifted her head to fix Almondbay with a sharp look. "Then spill. No point in waiting if it's important."
