Of course, sitting in the nursery all day was boring, especially when you're all by yourself. The pretty silver tabby queen stretched in the sunlight that beamed from the sky, warming the neatly, shiny fur of the tall feline. Her chin rested on her front paws, tail twitching often to show she was still alive. Her kit, Iciclekit, was probably off seeking her father for Starclan knows why. Though, it was nice to lay in the sun, but she wish for Cinderblaze to be beside her.

Ever since the invasion and the trek to the Haven, she had rarely seen her mate around camp or had time to spend with the gray deputy. He was always hunting or talking with Dawnstar, or other things. As she lay there, Rainyglow wondered if her mate would come to see her after all, she was Rainyglow.

Nectarbuzz rolled his eyes. Of course. He was an orphan. No mother or father to tell him off. He sighed. "Fine. " he mumbled. He beckoned the kit to a shady Side of the clearing.

**Elmshadow & Cougarivy**

Glancing at the prey pile as she trotted along on her way towards the camp entrance, Cougarivy’s blue eyes caught Elmshadow’s shadowy figure moving towards the same direction. Her smile broadened and her bouncy steps quickened. Dawnstar’s order to only go out in pairs rang in her mind. She’d considered it when she first decided she wanted to go out but hadn’t put thought into who she’d want to take out with her. She needed to get her apprentice out soon but that wasn’t the kind of company she was craving at just that moment. What was Elmshadow doing, heading towards the forest all on his own? She purred as she pulled up beside him, matching his pace with shorter, choppy strides. ”Heading out? All on your own?”

Elmshadow felt his muscles tense as Cougarivy’s bubbly voice popped up beside him. He looked sideways at the younger she-cat, seeing only the cat who had broken his relationship with Goldenstep. Not for the first time, he cursed himself for falling into her carefree allure. He’d been looking for his daughters, wanting but not knowing how to mend some sort of relationship with any of Goldenstep’s offspring. None of this was anything he cared to bring up to Cougarivy so instead he meowed gruffly, ”I’m the medicine cat and know well enough how to look out for dangers.”

Cougarivy shrugged. ”All the same, I am the enforcer commander, ya know? And so it’s my job to enforce Dawnstar’s orders. One of those was to not go out on your own.” She let only a heartbeat pass, long enough to make a statement but short enough that Elmshadow couldn’t interject. ”As it happens, I’m free to go out with you!” She smiled, looking at Elmshadow with sparkling eyes. She couldn’t understand his distant demeanor. Goldenstep was gone, she figured that would bring Elmshadow back around to her but the old tom was being stubborn. She shrugged away the thoughts; he was cracking, she could see it. She’d have her mate back in no time flat.

The dark medicine cat sighed, considering turning back around and staying in camp, but the lack of marigold was concerning. He realized he couldn’t justify abandoning his search for marigold over a petty dislike of the enforcer commander. Without looking at the she-cat, he nodded lightly and ducked out of the barrier entrance. He could nearly feel the she-cat’s giddy shiver as she paused then hurried to catch back up to him.

When she first joined the clan, she had had her ideas about what clan life was like, she had done her research after all before coming here, and so far it had been like expected. Well, the thing with the twolegs had been a little unusual, but otherwise, it wasn't anything out of what she had heard. Though she had been a little disappointed in what she had seen at the prey pile. So much rotten food left for crows and maggots to feast on, and not disposed of properly.

Annoyance prickled through Owlstorm's fur, and after a few moments of thought, the stormy grey and silver-furred molly finally got to her paws. "Shadowclan! I'm going out hunting since the freshkill pile in embarrassingly low, and we'll need to fix that, so get over here if you want to come with." No one was allowed outside for one week per Dawnstar's orders, but the clan also wouldn't survive with that little food. She made a mental note to suggest to Cinderblaze that more of those hunting patrols were sent out, but for now, she could at least do this.
