Their medicine cat apprentice was dead? Shock buzzed through the five moon old molly as Ravenkit’s eyes blinked in a mixture of fury, bewilderment, and surprise. Why would those stinking ThunderClan cats murder their medicine cat? They already had enough issues to deal with on their own! ShadowClan is already suffering from the defeat of ThunderClan, so why should they decide to act like they rule the forest and kill one of their own? An irritable huff was quick to escape the mottled feline, her tail lashing as she sat down in the marshy clearing, ears pinned against her little head. ThunderClan was filled with nothing but scared squirrels. All they do is climb and climb and climb until the fall and fail. That’s what they are. Ravenkit didn’t really know much about the other clans, but she knew for a definite fact that they were filled with nothing but a bunch of meanies and are jerks. That was at least what the young mottled molly thought they were.

Under all the din about the kitten classes, Woollyfeather noticed her little bird among the gathered Clanmates, she stood and approached Ravenkit.
"Would you like to sit with me, love?"
She could see those gears in her head turning, and she could only guess what was bothering her. She wanted to soothe those anxieties if possible.

Ears perking up, the feline whipped her head around to look in the direction of her mother, Woollyfeather, a large, beaming grin quick to form on the young molly’s maw. Just the perfect cat that Ravenkit wanted to see. “Mama Woolly!” she chirped, shuffling herself closer to the lilac point as she excitedly tapped her front paws against the ground, nodding nimbly to the question that her mother stated. She would definitely wish to sit with her mother. All of the recent upbringings of this meeting have only just made the mottled molly’s brain confused and questioning most of the things that Dawny spewed. Looking back up at her mother figure, Ravenkit pressed her smaller body against her own as she sat right by her, glancing up at her mother with a questionable glint in her yellow depths. “Why did ThunderClan kill our medicine cat apprentice? It’s a mean action to do and we should give them payback.” She admitted, both majorly upset and confused for the whole situation. Why did they actually do it? Was it because they were greedy? She wasn’t sure, but she hoped to know the answer soon enough.

Re: The Shadowledge
The worries of war and bloodshed became all the more real all of a sudden. Dawnstar mentioned it in actual words, reassigning to kit classes to the queens and elders for that reason. If the dark leader was envisioning a war so big no warrior or enforcer had time for kit classes anymore, Nightshiver could only fear the worst. And those poor kittens... She could only pray this war would never breach the walls of ShadowClan's camp. The children were too young to face such terrible sights as the sights of war -- having to see the continuously more injured warriors was bad enough already. But the permanent queen took a deep breath, telling herself to not get too far ahead. The war had yet to start, and no one wanted it to breach the walls of ShadowClan. If anything, these changes weren't too bad in itself. She admit to having been a little startled when Dawnstar spoke her name all of a sudden, but understanding soon overcame her mind in remembering that she was already taking care of a kit class; and perhaps might have to consider taking on a second one to compensate, but which one? Those were worries for another day, when the voice of one of their queens - Honeysuckle - broke through the crowd. The white lady flinched a little, unsure of what to think of her accusations. Surely taking on one lesson could be alright? As Hawkbite had stated, the queen wouldn't mind babysitting while the teacher-queens were gone teaching a lesson, given she wasn't teaching one herself (that being said hers wasn't amongst the most popular, so she still had enough time on her paws). In case the queen looked her way at the mention of her name again, Nightshiver would give a soft smile before turning her mismatched eyes back up to the large leader. All the news was a little unsettling, save for the changes which she could see reason in, and secretly the feline hoped... Perhaps a bit of lighter news would follow.

Re: The Shadowledge
High Rank Announcement [#hrannouncement]Dawnstar's gaze was drawn to the loud queen shouting nonsense. Not all her queens were as daft as Honeysuckle, right? The leader didn't even bother wasting her voice trying to correct the cat, she already knew that someone with common sense would do it for her. She didn't have to wait too long, Hawbite and Woollyfeather were already on it.
Dawnstar faintly wondered if she should remove Honeysuckle from the nursery. Dawnstar had enough queens to take care of kits, even newborns. If Honeysuckle was too mousebrain to make sense of everything Dawnstar said, the leader said kit lessons multiple times, it might be safer to remove Honeysuckle from the nursery. If she couldn't handle listening, how the hell did she function as a queen?
Perhaps she'd talk to Nightshiver later, she hasn't spoken to the skittish she-cat for a bit. It might be just her worrying but she didn't need peabrain cats taking up space in the nursery. You need some common sense to take care of kittens, but as it was it seemed Honeysuckle was even lacking that. Definitely, something to see about later. Anyway, with no sensible protest, Dawnstar assumed all was well then.
"We've got some promotions. Hawkbite and Nighthound have been promoted to Enforcers. I trust the two will make great additions to the team, they're both impressive in their own right and I'm certain the clan will come to count and depend as we do the rest of the Enforcers." The ShadowClan leader locked eyes with both the green-eyed tom and the orange-eyed tom and gave them a respectful dip of her head.
Dawnstar felt a little more at ease with the Hawkbite and Nighthound amongst her Enforcers. With those two replacing Shadowfur and Mirehound, she felt a little more stable, rooted. Dawnstar hated losing clanmates, but she absolutely despised losing Enforcers. She only had a set amount of them, cats that she confidently depend on, and when they died or went missing it bugged her immensely. One of the reasons she was always quick to replace them, quicker than she had been with the deputy.
Thinking of deputy, a certain warrior caught her eye, and she then inwardly cringed. Was she that desperate? No...maybe... the murder of her daughter vexed her, but the loss of their medicine cat apprentice troubled her. As much as she hated to admit it, going to the gathering without her medicine cat apprentice and deputy... It was hard to put on a strong front when your high ranks were a mess. Damn, those squirrels! She didn't want to do this... she really didn't want to, but the need to make sure that her clan remain strong outweigh her personal problems.
She could tolerate him, she'd much rather tolerate Shadefrost, but that plan wasn't going to work so she'd have to settle for him. She could always toss him once she found someone... halfway decent. She wasn't looking for a successor, just someone to mind patrols and hopefully bring ShadowClan's morale up. Dawnstar could make this work, would have to make it work at least for a little bit.
"After some contemplating on who should be ShadowClan deputy, I've finally settled on a cat. Vulturefang will be ShadowClan's deputy." The big brute fit the image of a ShadowClan deputy better than any of her last picks. By looks alone, you'd never know Dawnstar picked up the pain in the tail in the outskirts. Honestly, if she could pick someone else, she would, but right now her choices were limited. She refused to waste her Enforcers. After the behemoth... every deputy has been a downgrade... now she understood why her mother kept that softhearted fool around for so long.
Vulturefang would most likely annoy the hell out of her, but since he wasn't as bad as Slytiger, she'd be fine. Dawnstar's tolerance for aggravating cats seemed to grow with each new one she met. She hadn't killed the last three and they were bad, so she'd go bang her head against a rock later and maybe she'd feel better about this choice tomorrow. She glared bitterly at Vulturefang before turning away from him.
Anyway, while the three toms obtained whatever congratulations that came their way, Dawnstar waved her tail to catch the attention of a few select apprentices in particular. "Sagepaw, Starlingpaw, Aspenpaw, and Batpaw, come and sit beneath the Shadowledge, it's time for your warrior ceremonies." The leader would start their ceremonies once the clan quieted down.

Re: The Shadowledge
Skybranch thought I see Dawnstar has made Hawkbite and Nighthound enforcers oh and she has finally chosen a deputy. The heavily pregnant queen wondered what kind of deputy Vulturefang would make and what kind of enforcers Hawkbite and Nighthound would make. She would have to wait and see. Open

Re: The Shadowledge
[ Hawkbite]
The newly named Enforcer puffed his chest out and lifted his chin as he accepted the new role. He and Dawnstar had spoken about this prior, she'd clearly made the right decision. . . even if he was the one that went to her asking. There was a desire within him that he felt getting tamed down. His work had paid off and his ambition was getting put at ease for now.
His gaze did move through the crowd to find Nighthound. A tom he hadn't interacted with yet but looked forward to. He offered the new Enforcer a small nod in congratulations. [ @lio. ]
Hawkbite's gaze then shifted to seek out Vixensnarl. He had to see the look of his sisters face with this announcement. Now, he could bother her all the time and there was nothing she could do to stop it. The schemes were already brewing. [ @Lillian ]
Vulturefang, hm. The tabby tom searched for the large feline. Not the looker, that's for sure, but nonetheless, deputy worthy so he'd chant his name with the Clan a couple times before moving on. Dawnstar didn't seem. . . as impressed with the tom, odd.
Finally, his focus shifted to the apprentices being named. More warriors! Just in time for the chaos.

Re: The Shadowledge
Sagepaw gave curious glances to the new enforcers, understanding all too well that one of them was meant to replace Shadowfur. He had no idea where his old mentor went and doubted he'd just up and left. Didn't make sense. Sagepaw shifted his paws, growing uncomfortable. That had happened a while ago, though. Moons since Shadowfur left. He just guessed that seeing the new enforcers spurred the old thoughts. Considering that Dawnstar was doling out compliments to the two new enforcers, they must be pretty good. Sagepaw certainly had no qualms about them. He sort of remembered going on a patrol with Hawkbite once, and the guy seemed alright.
And then there was a deputy! It'd been a while since there had been one. Sagepaw chanted Vulturefang's name, though he would admit he had only heard of the guy because- oh! He's Lilypaw's mentor! The apprentice searched the crowd for his friend, wondering if she was as excited by that fact as he was. And to think he'd been saying that Vulturefang has smelly breath. Well, as far as Sagepaw was concerned, he did. If Lilypaw said so, then he must. No questions. Oh well, could be worse.
Sagepaw's amusement died off when he was called forth to receive his warrior name. Woah. It'd taken a while, what with his sixty different mentor reassignments, but he'd finally gotten there. He'd actually done it, not that he doubted he would. It had just taken him atrociously long. Well, whatever, that was all in the past. Sagepaw could hardly push down his excitement (and nervousness) as he inched forward some to sit under the Shadowledge. He struggled to sit still, reminding himself it would be just for a couple of seconds.

Re: The Shadowledge
♔ Aspenpaw ♔
He/Him | WC: 437
He was a little late to join the game, choosing to see Elmshadow to ease the ache in his jaw before sitting out the meeting. He caught the end of Dawnstars conversation about kit curriculums and gathering requirements. The latter was something he appreciated, he had been to two of the things, neither of which provided him with any substance. His stomach turned as Dawnstar announced two new enforcers, not out of jealousy as one might expect, but from something that was as close as the emotionally disconnected teen could manage of mourning. However as the queen spoke with the word deputy falling out of her mouth, it turned to something of regret and anger. Mostly turned into himself and the uselessness he felt, moons of that position sitting empty, and he had not stepped close to filling it. He was being overly pessimistic, he knew that. But it was the thoughts of a calico molly glaring down at him, with such disdain that it made his small frame tremble under her gaze, that racked his mind in this moment.
He wasn't sure why, it had been a long time since he thought of his mother. The woman who had disappeared not long after his apprentice ceremony, one he hadn't thought of in many moons. But as Dawnstar called his name forward, he could think of nothing but. She would be so disappointed in him now, becoming a warrior so late, failing at his one step to stardom, immortality, even just in the eyes of his queen. Part of him knew the woman would never be proud of him, that he would have always been scum in her eyes just because of his heritage, he had done plenty of self-reflection in the past, even if it had landed him nowhere in the depths of his consciousness. An even smaller part knew that her prejudice was the reason he pushed everyone away, why in this moment there was no one for him to glance to, to give him even an ounce of praise, despite the lies he told himself he knew even if he would never dare to say it aloud.
Despite his earlier sentiment, there was someone he wanted to find in the crowd, maybe even two someone's. But he couldn't, it made no sense. One was his bloodsworn enemy ( @Rose ) and the other a nepotistic child he barely knew ( @JackHunt_17 ). So instead his eyes trailed along the dirt beneath him as he joined the other soon-to-be-made warriors. Until his jaw set ( much to the dismay of his wretched tooth) and he glanced up at Dawnstar.
