The tom ran over and slashed at the foxes muzzle as he barked at it no real words, just a warning sound he learned from his brothers when two legs they didnt like showed up to their den. Quill made sure to stay infront of the fox using his body and a barricade maine goal is for the kits to be safe, all he could think of is rooster being attacked, that whole thing fulled him in wanting to keep the kits safe.

Juniperkit and Foxkit's words did little to console the small tom. No, of course he wasn't okay! Weepingkit tried to breathe, succeeding with a few small breaths. The tears slowed, but the noise in his ears grew louder. 5 loners, all to the rescue of 3 little kits who had made the stupid decision to leave camp on their own. His apprentice ceremony was SO getting delayed when they got back to camp.

If they got back to camp.

No Weepingkit, don't think like that! There is surely a patrol searching for them. They were getting too big to go unnoticed now. Weepingkit's crying had ceased, but he was still shaking in fear and pain, the nub of his ear throbbing, heat radiating from the wound.

Omen leaped through some bushes, taking in the sight quickly. One giant fox, three kits, two of them already bleeding. Was the kit's ear torn off?? Darting in after Quill, the outsider aimed claws at the fox's flank. The fur on her spine bristling as she took position on the other side of the kits. Let the fox try and flank, she'd happily add to those claw marks Quill already gave the thing.

Paws thundered against the forest ground. He'd caught it's scent before he even saw it. A stupid fox. He could hear the ugly barking and chittering. Oh. He had enough of Predators. He was very ready to just grab one of their heads and put it on a steak as a warning.

"FOX! Keep your guard up. First priority is the kits who ran outside!" he yelled to the patrol. Stealth be damned, he didn't know what state the kits were in, or if they were even too late.

As he burst into the opening where the fox and kits were, he noticed there were other cats as well. Ones that belonged to no clan, no specific scent clung to their pelts. gross. One was even wearing some sort of twoleg garment.

But. The kits were safe. Were they protecting the kits? Doesn't matter. No time for thinking, fox needs to be gone first than Spiderthroat will ask questions once the threat is gone.

Instinctively he lunged forwards. Almost landing squarely on it's back. He'd miffed it somewhat, truth be told he was still incredibly sore. But either way he'd managed to barely latch onto the upper side of the fox.

Claws sinking in he began to bite and nip.

One more attack from each of his warriors should definitely spook it away. It was far too big to kill.

She briefly glanced at the other loner who helped to protect the kits - grateful that she wasn't the only one focused completely on shielding them. She then turned her attention to the three cowering kits, assessing their wounds more closely.

The ear isn't life threatening... although if there aren't any medicine cats in their clan this one could bleed out. The crying one with a missing chunk definitely needs to be treated first.

"Quiet." She bit out, directing her attention towards Juniperkit. Screaming and crying would do nothing but make the situation worse. "We need to move. If they cannot defeat the fox it will come after the kits again." A look to Omen, urging her to agree. Hopefully she felt no ties to the ones fighting. A paw moved to herd the kits into a nearby bush, only stopping when a new sound caught her attention.

Just then, the sound of thundering paw steps and a barked command rang through the forest. The kit's clan had finally come to the rescue. They burst onto the scene and immediately began their assault. Plum had never been more thankful to see clan cats in her life.

Ohhhhh Bri was not gonna be happy. But what was he supposed ta say?! Spiderthro- Spiderstar? Spiderboss asked him and Pineblossom to help track down some lost ThunderClan kits who wandered out of the nursery. What if it had been one of theirs? Or Butterflykit or Mothkit? Kits were valued clanmates, part of this larger extended family. How could he say no? Besides, his wounds had long since stopped bleeding and healed. He was fine. And he’d need to get back to warrior duties sooner or later, sans one eye or not. True, he’d promised her he wouldn’t volunteer for anything else for a while, at least while he healed, but this was different! And it was supposed to be a simple search and bring home mission! …supposed to be.

The stench of fox slapped him in the face, bringing forth an instinctive snarl. Acornfall didn’t wait for Spiderboss to say something, he was already quickening his pace. This was a predator he was well versed in handling. He noticed the other cats - protecting their kits? - but that wasn’t the immediate thing here. If they were protecting their kits, then good. He needed to back up Spiderboss against this fox. As his leader leapt onto the creature’s back, Acornfall slipped underneath it. Given that this was his first fight single-eyed, you’d think he’d be more cautious. Go the hindleg so somecat else can take the face. But this was Acornfall. So…no such luck.

Tilting and turning his head if he needed to, the large brown tabby clawed at the fox’s legs as he darted under it. Turning sharply and lunging at the creature’s face when he emerged on the other side in front of it. The creature spat at him and reared back to dodge Acornfall’s claws, guess he wasn’t totally 100% yet (shock). So, the warrior launched at the fox’s shoulder. Grabbing the fox’s neck with his jaws and tearing at the shoulder with his claws. The creature screamed, in both pain and fury probably, and tried to shake both him and Spiderboss from it. Reaching around to try and grab Acornfall in it’s teeth to throw him off. The creature seemed to be starting to feel overwhelmed…at this rate they might convince it that these kits weren’t the easy prey it was going for.

Well this was sure to be an experience. Pineblossom shook out her pelt, emerald eyes blazing as she stood to meet Spiderthroat... Spiderstar... whichever- and Acornfall at the camp entrance. Time to go find some kits. The queen followed the patrol, keeping steady pace with them as they ran down the hollow. Then it hit her.

Fox

That damn smell. The queen's nose twisted. There was a metallic tang in the air, squealing and hissing of cats and an overwhelming stench. As the patrol burst into the clearing, Pineblossom's eyes raked across the scene. A group of loners fighting the fox, while one stood by and guarded the kits. Pineblossom's eyes narrowed as she looked over them, two injured and one just clearly frazzled. Weepingkit missing an ear, Juniperkit's shoulder bleeding rather profusely and Foxkit, trying to calm the two of them down.

Pineblossom immedietely threw herself into the fray, claws out and ready to do damage. The queen's muscular formed leapt, landing behind the fox. She raked her claws down it's side, sinking her jaws into it's legs and tugging as she repeatedly tore at the beasts pelt. With the three of them practically encasing the fox, it was sure to tuck tail and run soon. At least thats what she hoped. She still had an apprentice to finish training, a father to look after, and now a deputy to poke fun at.

Other cats came along, they smelt differently, kinda like dirt and trees…forest smell- like cats who live in the forest. Yeah, anyways the cats were attacking the fox and the fox was chittering at them, the fox angry but also chittering about something he coudnt exactly make out. To be fair he was better with dogs considering his brothers.

Quill barked at the fox again and scratched his claws towards its eyes the fox was being overwhelmed and it chitterd, well more like cursed towards the whole group of cats before turning tail and running. Once the fox ran off quill got a better look at the other three cats his dark blue eyes scanning them ...Heya- Names quill, Thanks with the fox, Orange thing was attacking some kits, poor lil guys look hurt his voice was friendly maybe a bit of a weird accent that was hard to pinpoint, but quill looked at the kits who were safe now besides the blood. He would be devistated if that happened to rooster… ROOSTER! Dear god he left rooster alone. He hoped they were okay, he would have to go run back and check on her, to make sure the fox didnt find a new target.

The tom looked at the rag tag group, ears twitching as he took it all in. They protected their kits. Without even trying to figure out where they were from, or what they could get out of it. After some turmoil the calico looked at pineblossom, and in a silent order, moved his head in the direction of the kits in a swift motion. A quiet 'go get em. Check on em.'

The queen would notice most likely, given how perceptive she was.

He watched as one of the helpers went to do something. What it was, he only mildly cared. Truth be told, it had been a long instance since ThunderClan had allowed outsiders within their ranks, but based off of how the rouges fought off this Fox...it seemed well worth it.

"Come back whenever you're done doin what you're doin if you could. I gotta talk with you lot." he hummed. Giving the one who called himself Quill some time to come back.

"What you've done for ThunderClan is appreciated, that's where those kits are from and if they've got parent's I'm sure they're loosin their minds out of worry." he began. Looking at a vast majority of the Loners. "That bein said, they also knew better than to up an leave the camp, and I'm sure after a just punishment it won't even cross their minds again...right?" his question was drawn out, giving the kits a light hearted squint. Although there was a stern look hidden behind it. "Rules are there for a reason. As much as I personally hate em it's to make sure brats like you stay alive. Pineblossom will bring ya back and get you looked at by Treetiger." he hummed. Giving the Tabby queen a thankful look.

"That bein said. I'd like to extend the gratitude, if you lot are willin. We'd be more than happy to introduce you into ThunderClan, an make you fully fledged Clanmembers. Live in our camp surrounded by friends...is what I would say but it's mainly a weird bunch. I'm not gonna lie." he hummed, looking over his shoulder.

"If you're willin. Feel free to follow. I'll show you the way. It'll be food every day n moss beds as well. That bein said, there's three other Clans. I ain't gonna promote them, but be fore-warned sometimes we'll fight with em. Not often...now. But often enough to where I'll let ya know."

Quill had been gone a while, and the ever-so-curious Rooster decided to investigate!

It didn't take long to figure out what happened - Quill's scent led to that of a fox and a gaggle of cats. Rooster side-eyed them as they made their way to Quill, giving him a quick lookover before plopping against his leg. "No." Don't play a hero again, because Rooster didn't like all the blood and carnage that'd just played out.

The white one kept talking. Rooster didn't know what half of it meant, but they weren't sure they liked it.
