Blazingflame purred and began to pad back to camp, his head high with pride. Once he entered the camp he bounded over to Foxshadow, who was laying under an oak tree. "Foxshadow...I'm going to be a dad."

Foxshadow looked up at the tom, her eyes bright. She looked behind him at Rainingflower and let a gentle purr. "Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!" 'Scorchflower would be so proud... And so would Forestflame,' she thought/

Rainingflower went back to camp with Blazingflame. Her eyes showed all her excitement. She just followed Blazingflame cause she didn't know who she should tell it to.

Blazingflame stood next to Rainingflower, his head held high. He watched as Foxshadow stood on long legs, her ginger fur sticking out in all directions.

Seafire gritted his teeth, biting back what he wanted to say. Maplestar was his leader; of course he would give her respect. He just thought it would be nice if maybe everyone else would give him a little respect as well.
“Well,” he murmured, “I’m going to finish what I started out here. I’ll, uh... I’ll meet you back at camp.” He sounded put out, sad, and he didn’t even stop to groom his messy pelt as he stood and ducked underneath a leaf, disappearing from sight.

Maplestar watched Seafire go, hesitating. Maybe she should follow him? Had she been a little too harsh? She sighed, and began to trot after him, "Seafire?" she called, "I'm sorry if I was harsh. I'm under a bit of pressure. I hope you're not upset."

The red tabby paused as Maplestar's voice echoed through the undergrowth. He sighed as she came up beside up, and tossed a glance at her. "It's not you," he said. "I'm just a bit tired, I guess. I got up too early this morning." He ducked his head, looking embarrassed. "And... it might seem weird, but... I kind of miss my housefolk." He surprised himself with the use of the word; he hadn't used kittypet language like that since he set foot in the forest. "It probably makes me sound treasonous, I know, but it's the truth." he'd only realized it since he'd spoken with Smokefur a couple minutes before, when he'd talked about being bred for his coat. His housefolk had loved him, and he'd loved them back.

As if to rid himself of the thought, he sat down and began to rapidly groom, trying to lock out the dirt and leaves the clung to his fur.

With a prick of guilt, Maplestar remembered Seafire's background as a kittypet. Sighing, she sat down beside him and began gently licking his ears and forehead, "I'm sorry. You must miss them a lot," she sympathized, "I don't think you're being disloyal, as long as you don't return to them. Either way, I'm sorry - you were with them since birth, weren't you?"

I looked for them, maybe hoping they would see me and come running, to stroke me and give me treats... but there was a new car in the driveway, and instead of housefolk kits there was a dog, and the faces I saw were different." He felt his voice begin to waver and he clamped his jaws shut, swallowing the lump in his throat. "Since birth, yes," he managed to choke out. "I can't even remember why I left in the first place..." He then opened his eyes and glanced up at Maplestar, suddenly aware that he'd told her the very thing he'd worked to keep secret in order to gain the trust of the Clan.
