She figured that winning a contest would help her prove that she was a good warrior, and she was sure that she could do it if she tried. She sniffed the air for any scent of prey, stalking through a clump of ferns. She tripped on a pebble and fell face-first into a mud puddle. She leapt up and shook it out of her fur. Gross! Atleast being covered in mud will disguise my scent. She thought.

With a bit more concentration in herself she focused on her prey once she spotted one. She would go after any kind of prey she could nab, she was atleast going to bring something back to camp. When the timing was right, she swiped and dragged out a fish a perch nonetheless. She grinned with the fish in her mouth giddy as one can be to finally catch something and gently sat it down to grab later. Briefly she had glanced over at Puff, she had heard his comment earlier but ignored it for now, and smirked. "What was that about staring at prey?" she shot back at the other. Even if she didn't win she was going to try and collect as many prey and points as she could, maybe use it to throw in puff's face later on. With her renewed confidence she got back into a crouch and readied herself for the next piece of prey.

Lionpaw paid no mind to Springpaw's catch. She just got lucky was all! More confident than ever he attempted to hunt the impossible. He spotted a rabbit nearby and did his best to sneak up on it. It seemed he got a little too close though because when he pounced the rabbit raced away in a flash, causing Lionpaw to land belly-first into the dirt. The rabbit kicked up dust while it ran as if to mock him

He grumbled to himself before getting ready for his next catch.

He caught it, he actually caught it! A grin splayed across his fave as he jumped for the fish and pinned it down. It wriggled out, but he bit down, hard. His fish now. Trotting triumphantly out of the water, he set it down near a tree and stared at it with glee before turning and trotting off in search of his next catch.

Snowstripe was disappointed that she didn't catch her catch that it got away but she kept trying.

With no further fish appearing, likely scared off by his first catch, Gingerfrost decided to move on to lang hunting again. It wasn't long before he tasted the familiar smell of a shrew in the air, which he idly followed as he crouched low to the ground, getting closer and closer. The creature in sight, you'd think it would be an easy catch when snap, whether it came from below his paws or somewhere else he didn't know; all he knew is that the snapping sound alarmed the little shrew, scaring it away. With haste Gingerfrost hurried after the little creature, leaping to catch it mid-run. By some strange luck, he managed to just barely lock it's backside below his paw, quickly slapping his other paw over the shrew before delivering a final bite. That made two, and Gingerfrost quickly went to bury the shrew near the fish he'd previously caught.

Catching sight of movement in the water, Firelight slowly moved over to the riverbank, careful not to let her shadow fall into the water. When she saw movement again, her adept claws struck down, scooping a fish into the air and catching it between her teeth. This was a good—another one! She swung her claws into the water again, aiming her blow so that the fish fell on the bank, and killed it swiftly. Dropping the fish in her mouth, she examined them. Two carp killed cleanly; good size, too. She probably looked good hunting them. Hopefully, someone saw that! Firelight felt like the best cat in the forest at this moment. She might even win this competition!
