Fleckkit bowed her head in shame, slowly sinking off to the nursery

Tallkit had been watching from the nursery, happy to stay out of the cold rain but as soon as her name was called she trotted through the puddles to the front of the crowd. She gazed up at Dawnstar, excited to see who her mentor would be.

[Morning!]

Owlstorm's lean figure moved closer to the Shadowledge as she heard Dawnstar's voice, a curious tilt in her head. Briefly, her blue-green gaze diverted as a bunch of kits (who most certainly didn't have permission to be outside, quite the opposite, actually) made a mess, but that was quickly cleaned up, and Owlstorm turned back to Dawnstar.

Iciclekit jumped up from her cold nest the second her leader's voice rang outside, calling a meeting, but she froze in her place when Dawnstar continued, ordering everyone except the warriors and apprentices to stay inside. Apparently, it would have to be enough to listen to what she could hear of the meeting.

Dawnstar refrained from rolling her eyes at Foxkit's immature behavior. She hoped that she grew out of that and fast, she didn't need the kit growing up feeling like she was entitled or worse an entitled brat because Dawnstar called her kin. Foxkit would learn very fast kin or not, expectations would be held and failure to follow very simple orders would result in nothing good.

"From this day forth until you receive your warrior names you'll be known as Foxpaw [ @Archbone ], Daypaw [ @candy hearts. ], Tallpaw [ @Wings ], and Starlingpaw [ @Apollo. ]." As the rain showed no sign of letting up, Dawnstar swiftly scanned the gathered cats for mentors.

"Lynxblossom [ @Erebus ], it's been a while since an apprentice has trained under your paws, you'll train Starlingpaw." Dawnstar hadn't a clue where the molly was, but most of her warriors tended to show up after she called out their names, and it hadn't been that long since Dawnstar last saw her in camp.

"Tallpaw, you'll be training with Slytiger [ @NinjaBloss ]." She should really make that tom swear allegiance to her at some point in time. Not that an oath made that big a difference, cats still abandoned her and ShadowClan for pitifully stupid reasons all the same. Regardless, this would be his first apprentice, she did hope he fared better with a paw than some of her clanborn clanmates. Perhaps cats in ShadoClan will take training more seriously if two former outsiders succeed.

"Shadefrost [ @Levi 99 ], you've had quite a few apprentices now and none of them have ever made it to warriorhood. If the same happens with Foxpaw, you and I are going to have to talk." Dawnstar couldn't remember how many apprentices she's given this tom since he's become a warrior. Though rather average when compared to her Enforcers and medicine cats, he never came off as disloyal or particularly lazy. So Dawnstar was befuddled with his loss of apprentices.

"Frostscreech [ @Lambert ], I want you to train Daypaw." Noticing the tom's irritated glance at Brackenfire, Dawnstar nearly forgot that she had to announce the challenge issued to the Enforcer. Sadly, Brackenfire has done little to nothing to keep the rank she earned, and quite frankly Dawnstar was dissatisfied. She lazed around camp more or less using her kits as an excuse to play kittypet. If Frostscreech hadn't wanted to fight her for the rank, Dawnstar would have already dismissed her. Regardless, Frostscreech had done little to nothing to earn the rank of Enforcer, and if Brackenfire weren't so lazy it was unlikely Dawnstar would have allowed the challenge. Training an apprentice and calling Brackenfire out was at least a start for the tom.

"Ruepaw [ @neptune ], Daintypaw [ @jupiter ], Ratpaw [ @Angelique ], and Batpaw [ @Emo Rat ]. All of your mentors have either abandoned you or proved to be worthless dungheaps, so you'll be getting new ones." Dawnstar shifted her huge paws as she stared long and hard at one apprentice specifically.

"Flamecall [ @Willowfern ], you get Ruepaw." So nothing she's heard around the camp has put Ruepaw in a positive light. It doesn't seem like he's done much other than be a pest. He was Flamecall's problem now. The leader was also aware of the mess that was the apprentice den, however, considering that she had a clan full of apprentices with mentors, she didn't see why she needed to order someone to fix it. Not to mention, it hadn't been a problem until recently which meant the paws were the ones who made the mess, so they could clean it up. She wasn't their mother!

"Maplestep [ @nyx ! ], you look dead on your paws, but the fact that you're here must mean something I suppose. I'd like you to take over Batpaw's training." The reason that Whiteshine was losing her apprentice would be present after she got finished with reassignments.

"Cougarivy [ @Ravensong ], see if you can make something out of Ratpaw." Dawnstar's given the Enforcer Commander a weakling to train before and she turned her into someone worthy of being called a ShadowClan warrior. Too bad twolegs interfered with that. Dawnstar was looking forward to seeing what she did with Ratpaw.

"Vixensnarl, you can decide if you want to take back your former apprentice, Daintypaw otherwise I'm assigning her to Pumpkinglare." Vixensnarl could decide if she wanted to take on a second apprentice or not. She knew how Vixensnarl liked to keep busy. If she didn't want Daintypaw back, she knew who to pass her on to.

While they all got acquainted with each other, Dawnstar began summoning a new batch of cats. "Cloversun [ @Rabbiteye ], Icepelt [ @TheDragonGoddess ], Calmriver [ @Silvershadow13 ],, Willowspark [ @Wintersun ], Fogshadow [ @CacklingMemester ], Flamefrost [ @Holly Jolly Ashie ], Marshpaw [ @Peachy Wolf27 ], Thornpaw [ @Fawnhearted ], and Galepaw [ @vellichor ]. I want all of you in front of me now." So many cats, Dawnstar had assumed ShadowClan would get their asses into gear after the last warning, but nope. They continued to be incompetent, she had no clue why she thought anything she said would change the outcome. So now it was time for action, maybe that will teach them to take their duties more seriously cause Dawnstar was sick and tired of it!!!

Flamecall’s ears flicked up at the mention of their name. They were quite surprised to hear that they’d just received an apprentice! Exciting! They hoped that this one would be friendly enough.
They stood from where they were sitting next to Brackenfire, muttering a quick,
“Pardon me,” as they made their way into the throng of cats, water dripping off of their nose as they searched for their new apprentice, Ruepaw.
They barely registered the second list of names that were called, they didn’t really realize that something was going to happen. Right now, all they wanted to do was meet their new apprentice and make a good first impression. They did their best to clean up their dripping fur as they looked around.

~ Daykit looked over at Larkpaw who had taken a seat behind him before playfully rolling his eyes at his sister. Daykit then glanced at Dappledleaf who was ushering kits into the nursery. Daykit did feel a little sadness in his chest before shaking it off. The turkish angora mix looked back up at the Shadowclan leader listening as she assigned each apprentice a mentor. Dayk- Nono. Daypaw's face lit up when he was given his mentor. Frostscreech. Daypaw stood up quickly glancing over at Larkpaw.

"Now I get to bother you in the apprentice den."

Daypaw said before looking around for his new mentor and spotted him before padding over to him with his tail held high and leaned his head forward to touch noses with Frostscreech. ~

Cloversun gulped. She was going to die. The dappled she-cat stepped forward to Dawnstar. She gritted her teeth in anticipation for the worse.

this wasn't fair. galepaw knew why he was being called up, and he wasn't about to have it. with his jaw set and amber eyes blazing with righteous anger, the pale tabby stepped forward and looked dawnstar in the eye. with a flick of his fluffy tail, the large tom started. "listen. look at me. i'm 6 moons old for starclan's sake. i have no training. i don't know how to hunt! you know who was supposed to help me out? calmriver!" galepaw spun around and bared his fangs at the incompetent warrior. "how can i, barely an apprentice with zero training and experience, be expected to go out on my own and provide for the clan? i can't!" at this point, galepaw's rant was beginning to escalate. "i want to provide, i want to do my part! but i can't be blamed if a lazy ass warrior abandons me to do something i don't even know how to do!" burning tears began to well up in galepaw's eyes as he felt an overwhelming sense of failure and anger. "i hate you! i hate you calmriver! i can't leave by myself so i shouldn't be punished! i don't know... anything... i'm useless...!" suddenly, the apprentice's legs began to wobble and his head began to spin. he really was useless, wasn't he? did he... did galepaw even deserve to be in shadowclan? hot tears stained the ground below.

Foxpaw heard what Dawnstar said about her mentor often abandoning his apprentices and she groaned. Why did Dawnstar give her to him? Did she want her to fail? She looked around for Shadefrost though. She had to at least greet him as apprentices were expected too. So when she spotted him and padded up to touch his nose, she muttered "You better not fail on me or abandon me, alright?"
