Not to mention, she's never taken the medicine cat for much of a liar. Scarastic, playful, stubborn, sassy, but certainly not a liar.
"You are Cardinalpaw's mentor. You must train and take responsibility for him. Yet you're telling me his disrespect and attitude are not your problem is quite concerning. You've been given the honor of guiding these young cats into warriorhood, if you want to turn a blind eye to their wrongdoings, I'll reassign them both at the next meeting. Hopefully, their next mentor will do better than you." If she got yowled at for something regarding the apprentice, yet was choosing not to tell her who, she couldn't assume it was probably Crowtooth, Lightingstorm, or someone else she selectively decided to respect.
"Leechscar and Lightningstorm both said they watched you come up and try and take over the patrol from Willowpaw. Yet you're telling me you did not." Twilightstar huffed. Someone was lying then. "It seems you've forgotten that Leechscar has permission to be controlling. He earned the right when he became a Fury. He holds a rank higher than the average warrior as do all the furies, and thus sits above you in rank. As far as I have heard, if you act like a kit, you will be treated like one in return. You going off on him and running out of camp before he can reply, is rather immature." Leechscar was a lot of things, but a bully wasn't one of them. Fadingdawn made it sound like he was out to get her or something. Yet it seemed like the other way around to the leader.
"Here's the deal, as I've yet to hear anything that would make change my mind about this. You can either take the punishment or feel free to leave the clan in exile. I can not have you disrespecting the furies or training apprentices wrong." Twilightstar was done trying to discuss this matter with her.
Yay, new baby. Twilightstar cocked her head as one of Leopardsong's bunch arrived in her den. "Hello to you too." She purred without getting out of her nest. "In battle, and no, I'm not telling you the stories. You'll have bad dreams and I'll feel bad when Leopardsong has to try and put you back to bed." She told her with a chuckle. Most if not all of Twilightstar's scars were rather gruesome tales, no need to traumatize the child. "I'll tell you when you're older. Do you have any other questions for me?"
The WindClan matriarch fought a losing battle with a yawn while listening to Crowtooth. She gave a mild chuckle as he called her a hypocrite, which in hindsight was very true.
"That was one time and I was downright exhausted. If you had to deal with the same mess your predecessor left you that mine did, you'd want a nap too." Twilightstar smiled, the start of her leadership had been such a pain. Back then she had stepped up because someone had to, and she walked a long and unstable path riddled with danger to get WindClan back onto its paws enough to challenge ShadowClan and prove to the other clans that they were more than just bunnies.
However, she hadn't thought about the repercussions that would have caused nor Dawnstar. She wouldn't say she regretted it, but so many lives and so much blood on her paws. If she truly had to leave all this behind to Crowtooth, she didn't want to leave the same legacy Brightstar unfortunately had. For him or these kits. She learned to give the tom some more affectionate licks before resting her head on him. "Nap time, I'm tired." She grumbled and nuzzled into the tom.
[I ran out of steam with this post if you can't tell. But we can wrap it up here so reply is optional]
Twilightstar waited to continue her cleaning until Jaggedkit joined her on her other side. Once the kit got to work, she followed suit and finished rolling the old moss up and tossing it towards the opening in the den.
"Leaders always get their own den, I'm not sure why, but that's tradition..." She started and then paused when Jaggedkit further elaborated. It seemed like he wanted to know why she had this den in particular. Honestly, that's a good question. She hadn't liked the den at first, but now leaping into it had become second nature to her.
"Though it's difficult to get in here, it doesn't seem to sway the numerous visitors I get. So many kits get in here without any problems, your sister, in particular, didn't seem to have any issues trying to steal my nest when she visited." Twilightstar trilled in amusement. Once finished with disposing of the old moss, the leader turned to grab the new moss and laid it down where the old one had been.
"Quite frankly, I do miss sleeping with my clanmates, especially when leaffall and leafbare come. But as this is how things are when a cat becomes a leader, I've never had much interest in changing it." The she-cat slowly added in new moss while forming the new nest. Though it was rare, she did get a few cats and kits interested in naping with here once in a blue moon, the bigger the nest the better.
"OH okay." Skykit emwed. She didn't want to have nightmares. "How well do you know my mama? How long have you been leader?" She clamped her muzzle shut. She hoped she didn't annoy the leader. But, she was actually talking to the leader!!! Now, THIS was something to brag about ot her siblings.

“As am I.” The queen meowed, following her kit into the leader’s den. Heathernose bowed her head to Twilightstar in respect, blinking at her apologetically after she lifted her head. “I know you asked for Lionscar, however he’s been missing ever since…” She swallowed hard, glancing at her kit next to her. She didn’t wish to go further into the topic with Ferretkit present, and she hoped Twilightstar would understand that. “I have come in his stead. I was closeby when the incident occurred so I can answer any questions. And I’m prepared to accept his punishment in his place.” She meowed, standing straighter as she spoke.
Truthfully, she’d taken on Ferretkit’s punishment too if she could, but she knew it would be best for him to learn on his own. Solidarity was her motive. In Heathernose’s eyes, as the parent to the kit at the center of the incident and the mate of the other cat involved, she shared responsibility. Therefore, with Lionscar gone it was only fair for her to atone in his stead to return the family to good standing.

Autumnwhisper padded into the den, gait a bit nervous. Its expression did not show guilt, hate, joy, or anything of the like–simply a neutral face as it dipped its head at the sight of its leader. Autumnwhisper spoke not a word, awaiting Twilightstar to speak first, just a tiny sigh escaping its jaws. It has nobody to blame other than itself, for whatever punishment came.
Nightfall entered Twilightstar's den with his head bent down, shoulders lowered and ears flattened to his skull. Gosh, he had really messed up everything. And it wasn't an ordinary patrol; it was an emergency where he hadn't been able to follow some simple orders.
He definitely deserved whatever Twilightstar decided for him.
@Moonraven
Why was it that nightmares always followed him? The kitten awoke from the night terror, panting, alone in his nest as he always did. He couldn’t even remember what exactly had been scaring him so badly but he could only imagine that it was something having to do with his parents and their fates… mixed with the terror he felt during the fires. It was likley that it was something having to do with one of those. Maybe he had one of his forever lost dreams, but those never left him gasping for breath. The feline sighed slowly, and shaky, and shifted his hazy gaze out of the nursery, catching the darkened outside.
Why was it so open? It was convenient in the day, when there were so many kits and cats coming in and out and in and out. But right now it made Patchkit feel terribly open, and vulnerable to anything that wantedto hurt him. It would be so easy for it to creep in and there would be nothing to stop it. So where does he go? How can he be safe in an open place like the camp or like the moors he’s heard cats talk about. The warriors den, but he would be kicked out, apprentices couldn’t protect him well enough… medicine den? Perhaps, but he would likely get in trouble for imposing. The leader’s den.
The kitten would be safe there, it was harder to access and the leader would be inside and she would be capable of protecting him. Yes, the leader’s den was the best place to go. Patchkit stumbled onto his feet, whole body shaking with fright and with the cold leaffall air as he stepped out of the nest and warm nursery and out into the clearing. It was dark out, he couldn’t see that well, but he made it to the galewood and slowly clambored the beast of a tree. He slipped once, and then twice, but on the third try he managed to pull himself up and over the edge of the tree and stepped without hesitation into the den.
Then he stepped forward, without waiting for a reaction from the leader herself, and found a space beside her away from the entry, to curl up in a little ball. He was frightened still, his fur along his flanks still rippling at any too loud breeze that passed, or some other natural noise, but he simply tightly closed his eyes and forced himself to focus on his own breathing. He was safer here, in the galewood. He would have to hope that Twilightstar allowed his stay, or perhaps she would mistake him for one of her own… though that was unlikely. As much as he was smaller than most five moon olds, he wasn’t the size of a kit of Twilightstar’s litter.
The she walked up to the den entrance letting the leader of Windclan know that she was at the entrance. "TwilightStar may I talk to you it's urgent?". The once enthusiastic she asked with sorrow in her voice. Her green eyes glimmered as a tear escaped her eye.

´´Twilightstar,´´ Wrenwhisker dipped her head respectfully. ´´I found this kittypet within the territory. His name is Ham. I challenged him and told him to leave serveral times. When he did not, I attacked him - hence his bleeding ear and shoulder - and brought him to you so you could decide what to do with him and in hopes that he will explain himself to you, since he didn´t want to with me.´´
Ferretkit poked his head into the leader's den. His gaze looked around, he finally spotted Twilightstar sitting on her nest. "Um...Twilightstar..." Ferretkit said nervously as he walked into the den, and right up to her. Sitting down in front of her, he said. "I'm sorry for my behavior, but I'm ready to receive my punishment. I know you are doing this so I may learn."
Twilightstar was confused when Ferretkit and Heathernose arrived at her den instead of Lionscar. However, she got her answer a few seconds later. It seems that Lionscar had gone missing and Heathernose wanted to take his punishment. In all her seasons as WindClan's leader, this was another first for her.
"Ferretkit, you will spend an extra moon in the nursery and miss out on your first gathering. I don't know what compelled you to leave camp after being told not to multiple times, but I'm glad you know what you did was wrong. I do hope you learn from this so we won't have repeated incidents in the future." Twilightstar told him and then looked at Heathernose.
"Though I can appreciate your desire to take responsibility for your mate's actions, at the end of the den he was the one who didn't follow orders, not you, Heathernose. If Lionscar returns he will be the one to own up to his inability to heed direction. You trying to take on his punishment isn't going to teach him anything." It was a sweet gesture sort of, but not how punishments work.
"Unless you have any questions you are dismissed."

"Hi Mommy!" he purred, snuggling up against her. Looking up with wide kit eyes, he admired her. All those scars looked SUPER COOL! "I just wanna say I'm sowwy for making fun of Coldy. I didn't realize it was mean until Leechscar said something. But I'm going to grow up to be the best big brother ever!" he mewed, puffing out his tiny chest. He'd protect all his siblings! Nobody would ever lay a claw on them, never ever!
"I'm bored though. Can you tell me a story? Maybe about the times you beat up Dawnstah? She sounds really mean. I hope you totally kicked her butt! he said, pummeling Mommy's belly to imitate what she did to the ShadowClan leader.
Drat, her den was found. The one-eyed leader looked up at the as Coyotekit clambered into her den with a hello and nuzzle. She purred a warm greeting in response and licked her son's ear. Twilightstar had been hoping to keep her den to herself for a bit longer, but it was hard to be upset with her kits especially when they only wanted to be with her.
"Oh, well I'm glad to hear that Leechscar got through to you. Your older brother can be a bit of a grump, but he's a good brother. You should learn well from him if you want to be the best big brother." Twilightstar hummed with a grin on her maw.
Her ears twitched erratically at Dawnstar's name. She lifted a front paw and dropped onto the kit to cease the belly kicking. "Be nice," She huffed, drawing him between her forelegs so she could groom him. "Who's been telling you stories about Dawnstar?" She asked curiously between her licks. Twilightstar didn't mind sharing stories with her kits or informing them about her scars since she thought they'd learn from her tales. However, she normally waited until they were older to bother them with such fearsome tales. Kits imaginations could be quite active and she didn't want her stories giving them nightmares.

"Your mama was born in WindClan. I watched her grow up and even gave her her warrior name. As I've done for many cats within WindClan." Talking about it reminded Twilightstar of her age.
"I've been the leader for a long time, probably too long, this will be my fourth leafbare as WindClan's leader, I believe." Twilightstar wasn't fond of this topic as she felt older and older with each word that left her maw. But WindClan had cats even older than her so perhaps she should not be complaining too much. "If I'm lucky, I'll be around to give you your warrior name too."

Nightfall looked gloomy as he entered her den. She couldn't feel bad for him when he brought this upon himself. "Nightfall, not only did you disobey three direct orders from your leader and deputy, but you failed to heed your medicine cat's call too. The fact that you managed to disobey nearly every high rank in WindClan is more than a bit concerning." She might have exiled him from WindClan entirely if he didn't look so upset.
"You'll spend the next two moons as Nightpaw with apprentice duties. You'll also be confined to camp for the next half moon and you'll be missing out on two gatherings. I pray to StarClan that you learn something from this. In all my moons as WindClan's leader, I never had a cat go out of his way to ignore his leader, deputy, and medicine cat. I won't be tolerating such disobedience again. The next time you decide to go against orders you will be exiled from WindClan." She growled the warning softly. As much as he was smaller than most five moon olds, he wasn’t the size of a kit of Twilightstar’s litter.
She truly needed to start teasing Crowtooth more about his inability to climb into her den. She's lost count of how many kittens have managed to get into her den by now. The WindClan leader rarely used her den these days aside from taking meetings. She normally rested in the nursery with her litter. It was warmer inside the nursery among the little bodies and put her more at ease. But there were rare times she found herself sleeping in her nest again, alone.
Her kits seemed to be growing day by day and Twilightstar didn't want to get overly attached to them. She was going to have to back to her den as soon as they were fully weaned so she was slowly trying to get back into the rhythm of sleeping alone. However, the nights were getting colder and sleep was harder to come by so she usually just laid down and rested her eyes until eventually her body fell into an uneasy rest.
Tonight, though, it seemed like she was to have company. She could hear tiny claws scrabbling against the bark outside. Aside from opening her eye, she didn't bother getting up. She had just gotten warm enough to stop shivering and didn't feel like getting up if she could avoid it. Eventually, the noises went silent and she found an additional furball in her nest. Twilightstar finally lifted her head and shifted a little to make more room for her newest denmate.
A bit too big to be one of her kits. Twilightstar kittens were larger than average WindClan kittens thanks to Beastspark, but the one curled with her was certainly a few moons larger than them. Her eye adjusted to the darkness and she made out the ginger pelt. Too big to be hers, none of them had ginger pelts anyway, and too small to be Owlpaw.
A quick sniff gave her the answer she was looking for. The kit reeked of fear but underneath that was a unique scent. "Hello, Patchkit." Twilightstar uncurled herself from the ball she was in and leaned in to wrap herself around the shivering kit. "Did you have a nightmare? Or is there something scary outside?" She whispered while coiling her tail around them.
The she walked up to the den entrance letting the leader of Windclan know that she was at the entrance. "TwilightStar may I talk to you it's urgent?". The once enthusiastic she asked with sorrow in her voice. Her green eyes glimmered as a tear escaped her eye.
Oh dear, what was it now? She could hear the sadness in the young warrior's voice and naturally, her concern grew. "Come on in Swiftstrike." Twilightstar meowed. The leader's tail tip twitched back and forth in mild agitation once the she-cat entered. "What's wrong?"

What the hell? Twilightstar stared long and hard at Wrenwhisker as if he had completely lost his damn mind. The leader took a deep breath in, shut her eyes, exhaled, and opened her eye. Nope, not dream they were still here.
She was so done with this! "Out, Wrenwhisker, take this stranger with you and get out of my clan you're exiled. I've said repeatedly not to bring outsiders into my camp! Yet you decided to jeopardize your clanmates' safety and bring a random cat into our home without my permission." Twilightstar didn't care if the cat was nice, or young, or whatever. She didn't want them in her camp without her permission.
"Get out, if either of you are seen in my territory again, you will be killed." Twilightstar hissed with a shake of her head.

She dismissed the cat with a wave of her tail.
[Nightfall will be demoted to Nightpaw until Dec. 12th. He must have at least three posts with 50 words of apprentice duties, cleaning the dens, bringing fresh kill to queens, kits, or elders, taking care of the elders, fixing up dens, etc. Nightpaw is confined to camp until Oct. 31 and can not go outside of camp without a warrior until their punishment is up on Dec. 12th.
Glad that argument was over with. "Good, you will be Fadingpaw until you complete a territory tour and two more apprentice lessons. I will not be assigning you a mentor you must find a warrior to take you for training on your own time. I'll be reassigning your apprentices at the next meeting. However, if the disrespect continues with any cat I will be exiling you from WindClan instead. Unless you have any other questions, you are excused."

The she looked at her leader in the eyes "CardinalMist has died near the medicine cats den. She told me to tell you that she couldn't stay much longer. I am so sorry, I sat with her until I found you not busy." The she's tail tucked in her between her paws, she had witnessed the elders death and had great sorrow for the elder.

The tom sat in the ditch waiting for an answer from Starclan. "Silverpelt is quiet, maybe being a kittypet was a bad idea."The tom lied down falling asleep.
