From where she clung to the top of the tree, breath billowed out in a quick succession of puffs. Blue hues widened and closed as she tried to settle her racing heart. Normally climbing did not involve remaining high up in tree for very long, but Cornpaw was taking his sweet time getting this event started, was he not? Maybe he really was just as stinky and disrespectful as every cat was saying. Maybe once she got out of this tree she would - No. No, absolutely not. Cornpaw was an apprentice and her Clanmate, for the sake of StarClan. It was the fear talking, and Cindersky shook her head vigorously to clear any and all thoughts of that manner.

Ears twitched as a voice called up to her, and it took every ounce of energy to look down to where Dogbark was. It was not him she saw, rather yet the ground and how far away it was. A tremble of fear passed through her and she swallowed, her throat dry and feeling hoarse. Her voice would sound shaky if she answered now, and the last thing she wanted was to reveal her well hidden fear to the rest of her Clanmates - and the deputy, no less.

But if she gave no answer it would stir concern, and Cindersky did not want that either. Sucking in a quick inhale of confidence, the senior warrior forced a smile onto her face. "Doing great!" she called, her voice a little higher than normal but nothing too out of the ordinary. "Oh yeah, really far! As far as one can!" That was it. That would be her answer. With another hasty smile Cindersky refastened her claws into the bark, chuckling nervously just to herself.

She sniffed haughtily. Did she look like some sort of newbie? She was, but it was still annoying. "Sure I have." I just haven't had official training. She wasn't sure if climbing a tree once, without supervision, counted. If it did, great, if it didn't, should she lie? Foxpaw didn't think it looked that important. Narrowed eyes watched each of the already accepted cats. It seemed as though some had stayed down to cushion others falls. So it would be fine if she fell. Other than the humiliation. That may not be fine.

"I mean, kind of? I haven't really climbed before. I climbed with another apprentice once and neither of us fell. That's fine though, right?" Despite the passive nature of her words, her voice still managed to make her sound annoyed. And she would be if she couldn't do this. It was more about pride now than climbing. It wasn't her fault that she hadn't had any official training. She could take that up with Mistyshade later.

Whooh climbing sounded dangerous! Well, she did it fine while she was traiing, so she hped she did okay. She dug her front claws into the thick bark of the tree and hoisted her self up.
