Make sure to congratulate Versailles on their promotion from c-mod in training to fully fledged chat moderator! They've worked very hard, and we can't wait to see where they go from here!
Yellowberry sat stubbornly at the mouth of the warriors' den, a tightly compacted loaf, tucking her dainty white paws beneath her to shield them from the sensory nightmare that was freezing rain. Cold, she could tolerate, sure. But being cold and wet? Absolutely not. She’d sooner roll in a nest of fire ants.
"This better be important," she muttered, ears flicking irritably against the icy drizzle.
Shrikepaw | she/her

A meeting? In the rain? And she was meant to stay in her den? No way! Shrikepaw burst out of the apprentice's den and into the downpour - her fur almost instantly flattened by it, making her appear rather like a wet rat; Not that she cared! The apprentice sprung round the clearing, splish-plashing in the puddles that were beginning to form for a few seconds, before coming to a stop.
Right. She probably shouldn't spend too much time playing, she wouldn't want to get in trouble with 'ma - or anyone else for that matter. What she needed, was a warrior to hide under. Her eyes scanned the clearing, looking for anyone - preferably someone she knew. Hm. Maybe they were all in their dens. How boring! Well, she supposed it was the perfect time to make a new friend. Who was that pale yellow warrior over there? Hm. She sprang on over, looking up at her with big green eyes. "Hello!!" She chirped. Now that she was seeing the warrior's face properly, she realised she looked a little irritated... Oh well! She'd soon cheer her up! "Can I. Hid from the rain here? Please?!"
@sleepyjax (omggg i was hoping a wet cat would approach her! lmao)
She was astonished by how many cats willingly braved the rain, wrinkling her nose at those who even seemed to enjoy this despicable weather. Great StarClan, was there no dignity left in her clanmates? With a huff, she turned her nose up at the thought before swiftly grooming away the stray droplets clinging to her golden fur.
Her moment of peace barely lasted a heartbeat before some drenched apprentice came blundering straight into her personal space. Yellowberry recoiled, blue eyes widening at—who in the stars was this?? The poor thing was hardly recognizable in that sopping, rat-like state. Good grief.
"U-uh, suuure... darling..." she hedged, still failing to place a name to the sodden creature. "Just—just sit over there, if you must. And mind my fur, please—I’d really rather not get wet today."
Daffodilpaw's ear turned when she heard her name, smiling when she noticed a familiar figure. "Hey, Nectarpaw!" She purred, scooting a little closer to be able to talk more effectively. Cramped quarters and all. "Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if everyone was tryin to watch the meeting from the dens." She mewed, her whiskers twitching with amusement. "I will never understand RiverClan's thing with water." She mewed with a chuckle, sticking her nose out briefly only to retract it quickly with a raindrop landed on her whiskers, as though nature was helping to prove her point.
"Rain is beautiful in its own way, but not when I'm in it." She added with a soft laugh, looking up at Nectarpaw with her head tilted slightly. "You're close to your ceremony right? You think it'll be today?" She asked excitedly. The prospect of one's warrior ceremony was an exciting thing! She was pretty close to that day as well. Just gotta pass my assessment and then I'm there! But stars how would it work to be made warriors in this rain? Eh. I'd go out in the rain for a warrior name.
Rabbitfur turned when a familiar presence made it's way to him, purring in greeting to Shimmertwilight. "Cold?" The long-furred tom scooted slightly, making space for Shimmer to sit next to him if she wanted. She was already recovering from injury, he'd hate to add sickness to that list.
Heathernose purred loudly when Lightnight came to join her. Sitting next to her mate, watching the meeting, it was almost surreal. She just needed to tell the kids it was official now. The wiry feline twined her tail with his, blinking up at him affectionately. "I will brave many things, but this rain is quite another matter." She mewed, a bit of a chuckle in her voice. Heathernose scooted closer to Lightnight for warmth, his pelt was much thicker and softer than her own, it was comforting.
Songpaw noticed her mother and Lightnight and couldn't help but avert her gaze, ears flattened against her head. She stayed where she was, hunkered down in the apprentice's den, crouched low to make room for the others while we watched the meeting from cover.
Sparkpaw was excited about a lot of things, rain was not one of them. She grumbled as she stuck her nose out of the den, looking upwards. The bright green-eyed she-cat blinked and sneezed when a rain drop hit her nose head on, shaking her head as she retracted into the apprentice's den to watch the meeting.
Lightnight purred. "Im sure you can brave the rain if needed" teasing his mate as she scooted closer. "Dont worry. I'll protect you from the rain" twining tails with Heathernose he moved shoulder back lightly, licking her ear as he let her snuggle up.
Fernpaw saw his sister, padding over he was intterupted by Firepaw bounding up to Softpaw. Settling down beside her. "Heyyy Soft!!" She purred. Her bright eyes softening. "Hey? What's wrong...you look like your upset" Firepaw mewed.
Fernpaw sitting on the other side of his sister. Licking Firepaws ear gently. Fernpaw stayed silent as he pressed against his sister

Songpaw jerked her head up, clearly snapped from her thoughts by the sound of her friend's voice. She purred a greeting, and before she knew it Firepaw was on one side and Fernpaw on the other. Great Stars, was she that easy to read? If it were just Firepaw, she could probably get away blaming it on the rain. But with Fernpaw there too, she highly doubted it. "Hey!" She purred, touching her nose to her friend's cheek affectionately. "I'm...okay." She mewed honestly, glancing towards the warrior's den where she could Lightnight and Heathernose getting even closer. Wait... Are they twining their tails?! Songpaw swallowed her horror. Fernpaw was right...Lightnight made Heathernose happy. She knew that. And yet...she still felt this way. "I guess...I'm just struggling with a lot of emotions." She admitted with a sigh, glancing at Fernpaw. She figured the two of them could piece things together fairly easily.
"Did Fernpaw tell you, Firepaw? About mom and Lightnight?" Songpaw turned to Firepaw as she asked her question, all too happy to take her eyes off them.
Heathernose laughed softly at Lightnight's tease. "Well of course." She mewed, huffing jokingly as though taking his words as a challenge. But she wasn't itching to get wet on purpose, not without reason. "But if it's all the same to you, I'd much rather avoid it altogether." She added, a shiver passing through her as she fluffed up her fur against the damp cold. Nothing was worse than damp, cold rain. Well, almost nothing. The wiry she-cat gladly accepted Lightnight's invitation, leaning close and pressing her head against his shoulder. Sheltering herself even from stray droplets. "I believe that was part of the job description, sir." She teased. "Mate and sky water shield." She couldn't help but purr happily, finally getting to refer to him as her mate. If it weren't for the rain, they could go over and tell the kids now. But it'd have to wait.
Sharing the news was not urgent enough to convince her to get wet.
"Woah a paw already! I know why you're excited now!" She mewed hobbling along with her limbs out. It was an awkward way to walk, especially wet, but it was the only way Sixfoot could think of!
"Have you thought of any cool warrior names yet for when you become one?"
He's curled up in his nest, only half-awake when his mother calls a meeting. Peachpaw blinks any remnants of sleep from his eyes as he pushes himself out of his nest, padding toward the entrance to the apprentices' den. While he had fully intended on staying in the den to avoid the rain unless Snowybreeze called him for training, the meeting changes things. It's still too cold for it to be considered new-leaf, and his mom is up on the Galewood alone. Last time he wasn't big enough to get up there and keep her warm, but now he is.
Amber eyes narrowed in determination, Peachpaw takes a breath before darting out of the warmth of the apprentices' den and into the chilling rain. He ignores the way his pelt begins to dampen, clinging to his frame and weighing him down. He makes his way through the Clanmates, slipping a little on the ground before he's at the base of the Galewood. He only takes a moment to judge the distance, not planning on letting Leechscar stop him before he's leaping, paws scrabbling to get a grip on the slippery wood. It's awkward and ungraceful, but he manages to heave himself up onto the branch beside Twilightstar and gives her a blinding smile. "Now that I'm up here I can keep you warm. And you can't kick me off, or I'll be sad and cold."
Songpaw jerked her head up, clearly snapped from her thoughts by the sound of her friend's voice. She purred a greeting, and before she knew it Firepaw was on one side and Fernpaw on the other. Firepaw rested her head on Songpaws flank as she rested. "He did" she mewed. "I understand what you might be feeling" Firepaw mewed. Pressing her creamy pelt against her best friends. "I...I don exactly have parents for an example. But my mother before she passed. Had a new mate... I felt resentment sense he wasn't my real dad. But just appricating how he loved my mother and seeing her happy was enough for me to tolerant him. And in the end having an extra adult to lean on is pretty helpful" Firepaw mewed softly
Fernpaw brushing Firepaws flank with his tail. The long lived tom watching his mother and fa...mate?
Lightnight gave gentle purrs as she joked around. Feeling her pelt fluff up and her headrest against him. Lightnight couldn't stop his heart from beating fast...but he didn't have to be afraid of showing the love in his gaze. "Mate and water sheild... I like that title" he purred. Licking her ears

Wispshard sits at the entrance of the warrior's den, observing the gathering from afar.
Carpkit ran away from his nursery and joined the gathering, eager for her apprentice ceremony.

StarClan, he hates the rain. And the cold.
But he sees Carpkit, and he's pretty sure she'll become Carppaw today.
He can't just not be there.
Sunpaw takes in a breath before quickly exiting the apprentice den, moving over to Carp as quickly as possibly.
As soon as he managed to get to her, he stood next to her. "It's so wet." He muttered.
Carpkit just straight off tried to ignore the cold rain. She’ll become an apprentice, and she won’t have the opportunity to miss the clan meeting by standing before the branch which Twilightstar uses as a perch. She puffed out her chest, and forgot to even huddle near the other warriors and apprentices. She then waited for the leader’s response, and waited, and waited.
Until her brother came.
Stars, she doesn’t want to be assigned as an apprentice all the way from the nursery’s entrance. But she also doesn’t want to get sick, especially at her first moon as an apprentice. He exhaled and cuddled close to his brother. She doesn’t want her brother to be sick aswell.
