Sleepysunrise

Sleepysunrise turned to Duskpaw with a dull gaze, studying her and her snapped words for several instances. She knew her cousin wasn't the brightest; she also knew that Duskpaw would rather snap at someone than think. She was brash. The new medic turned to face her in full, the petite cat tilting her head. "I am aware."
She stated plainly, more curious why the cat would jump to such conclusions rather than upset with her tone. "But. I am new to these herbs. You will know their texture and scent once your patrol mates find them."
She paused. "You can carry herbs, yes?"
It was a genuine question, and a genuine issue if Duskpaw could not do something as simple as help carry what her patrol mates found, or search based off what they found. Sleepysunrise had put Duskpaw on this patrol thinking she could trust her to show up and complete it, and she would rather Duskpaw not prove her wrong in this.

Taking a moment to turn towards Embercloud, she considered her question for a moment before nodding. "Very well. But you will be responsible for them, and do not let them slow you down."
Oh, she just remembered. "Embercloud. Rockjaw won't make it. You will be leading the patrol instead with Mothcloud and Cloverpaw."

Embercloud nodded understandingly to Sleepysunrise, smiling gratefully. "Thank you! I will!" She mewed, turning to where the apprentices gathered. "Midnightpaw! We have a patrol!" She called. She turned to Sleepysunrise when she was made lead of the patrol and nodded dutifully. Okay, Embercloud. You got this!
"Alright everycat, let's go!" She chirped before trotting off.

Herb patrol…herb patrol. Perfect. Honestly what he needed to relax. Seemed he was with two warrior. And he was assigned two herbs he already knew! (That was a bonus for him.) A part of him wished he was with SilentPaw or Sleepy…or even RockJaw, now that they’d work together more. Upon his hearing of Sleepy saying she would teach SilentPaw, he couldn’t help but approach her, dipping his head kindly. “Could you…uhm…perhaps teach me a bit…once you’re back? If you aren’t busy?”.

But why am I the one that has to pay?
herb patrols... ugh. WHY THE HELL WAS SHE DESCRIBING WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE? "unless you want me grabbing random plants, i'm gonna need a texture or scent to them. because unless you forgot, i'm blind. i cant see what youre describing." what a mess, was sleepysunrises' brain so cluttered with her fancy plants to remember anything else? being blind wasnt something she should just forget.
in any case, mudslide was a rather unfamilar cat to duskpaw, squirrelrise... she was on a a patrol with her once or twice. and she was the first one there other than silentpaw, who wasnt even on her patrol, again, unfamiliar, and didnt want her life in his paws.
rookfire, who had been lingering at the edge of camp, listening in on sleepysunrise make good use of the things he had told her and get to filling up the herb storage that was still resting rather heavily on his concions. was sickness really an excuse to slack to this degree? he'd probably never get an answer to this question but he didnt necesarrily care at the moment as he caught duskpaws comment, ear perked to catch every word. rookfire huffed, sleepysunrise didnt appear to have any issue handling the apprentice but he didnt like being a bystander in any capacity. ear pinned, the former medicine cat unwrapped his striped tail from his paws before sauntering over to where the situation was taking place. steps quiet, noise swallowed up by cats shuffling about, sharp gusts of winds and the clan chatting away in the clearing.
clearing his throat next to the apprentice to catch duskpaws attention, he leaned down slightly to hiss a few nice words in her vague direction, only loud enough to be heard by duskpaw and cats standing really close, in addition to perhaps sleepysunrise if she cared enough to listen in. "aint ya old enough ta' stick to yer patrol mates n bloody ask em ta show ya later? we dont need yer snark here, start working for yer keep before ye start bein' rude." he gave sleepysunrise a unspecific glance, head still tipped forward, and communication something he wasnt even sure of himself before stepping away from the scene. was this an overreaction? probably. but duskpaw was getting on his goddamn nerves and this day had been one singular wreck already so if he were to be rude to anyone it might as well be her.
Nightpaw’s ear perked up when he heard his name called for a hunting patrol. Huh, that was unexpected. He half expected not to be trusted with doing that again after his last one went so disastrously it got him demoted to kit. Determined not to mess it up this time, Nightpaw padded over to the rest of his patrol, giving a respectful nod to each of his patrolmates as he sat down, curling his tail around his paws.
Sinatra was swingin'
All the drunks they were singin'
We kissed on a corner then danced through the night
The boys of the NYPD choir were singin' Galway Bay
And the bells were ringin' out for Christmas Day!
Hawkbite trotted out from whatever corner he resided in at the time to his girlfriend calling for him. Then, she listed off patrols. He felt as if he hadn't been on one in a while. He sat and waited, casting a glance towards his remaining apprentice while he waited to be assigned. He'd assumed she'd be a part of his, it usually made sense, but to his surprise, Mistlewhisker had other plans for them.
Brows raised, he cast his girlfriend a curious look before turning to Hollowpaw with a small shrug. "Maybe you'll be on the next one with me," Hawkbite tried to sound encouraging. "Have fun out there, alright?" He would offer a small smile before getting up onto his paws and padding towards Rookfire and the apprentices. It was odd to be assigned with two apprentices.
"Right, when you're ready we'll go," he spoke, glancing over each feline, although his gaze would linger on Rookfire a moment longer. He wasn't sure how to feel about the warrior currently, but he couldn't have bitter feelings towards him. It wasn't his fault he got an omen demoting him. "You apprentices are to stay close to one of us. If you don't know how to hunt speak up or forever hold your peace," and with that, Hawkbite began to lead them out into the territory.

squirrelrise's ears twitch at the sound of her name being called for an herb patrol, yellow hues sliding to the newest medicine cat. rising to her paws (which had, unfortunately, already become numb from the cold), she pads over to the forming group. which, as of right now, only consisted of duskpaw and her. her eyes widen at the apprentices sharp words, mouth falling agape. she knew the younger ..well, sort of - they had been on a few patrols together -, yet she doesn't remember her being so..snippy.
"er...I can...inform..you of...of what the herbs s-smell..like..if you would..like, duskpaw." she offers, after sleepysunrise had finished speaking.
Embercloud's ears perked up when she heard her name called for a patrol. Dashing over, she dipped her head at Sleepysunrise. "Oh course." She mewed with a soft smile. "Would it be okay if I brought my apprentice?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. It would be good experience for them.

Was she a bit later than usual? Yes. It made her paws sting, ever so slightly, because she was usual first to every patrol, but being sent for a second one somewhat sent her for a loop and cracked her usual routine. Though, her patrol mates seemed reliable enough, even if one in particular was dead set on screaming.
Her icy eyes wavered over to Squirrelrise. She remembered taking the enforcer out to a border patrol when she was still an apprentice. Two new braids embroidered her orange fur. Huh. Interesting. Her gaze left as soon as it came. She went over the herbs said by Sleepysunrise. She couldn't help the way her brain buffered for a moment, wondering why Mossfreckle wasn't the cat calling for the patrols.
But she gathered regardless and looked to the other two cats dully before she flicked her tail at the two of them, and headed out. She knew what borage was, but the other herb was new.
