Red’paw shot up, he wanted to go! Sure he hadn’t learnt any battle moves just yet but he’d been practicing on his own. He was sure he could help keep thunderclan apprentices in line for a while. He’d find some way to be useful at least but he definitely wanted to go! “I’ll go!” he mewed, holding he would be allowed.

Speckle’pelt, while happy with this choice Dawn’star made, wasn’t sure if she wanted to go to thunderclan or not.
Sure she was happy they were helping them but Dawn’star mentioned attacking warriors that didn’t want help. It would be different if it were a battle, teeth and claws are expected to be used there but if thunderclan doesn’t want their help it shouldn’t be forced on them.
Maybe she’d wait until some news on thunderclans reaction before asking to go

"Yes I would like to hunt. Im very happy we are helping them though."

As her mother addressed her, Brackenfire hesitated slightly. As much as she would enjoy a Maggotkit running about, there had been no defining personality trait, like the arrogance Elmkitty had mentioned, that had popped up. She still very much disliked Maggot, but she was willing to give credit where credit was due. ''She's been fine. Still annoying, but considering I find most cats annoying, it's not a surprise.'' she paused, chuckling at herself, then reluctantly twitched her whiskers. ''She had earned her name back, I believe she takes more things into consideration before doing something, something she failed to do in the past, and her attitude problem has burned out a bit, she knows her place. Hopefully she will continue to remember that her rank and position is fragile.'' Casting a glance at Maggot, she swept her tail across the ground.

''And if you wouldn't mind terribly, I'd like to be on the patrol to ThunderClan.''

Maggotpaw’s eyes widened. Brackenfire thought she was ready to become a warrior again? Maggotpaw’s lips twitched, begging to form a smile, but she pushed the urge back. She remained cool and warrior-like. Maggotpaw didn’t want Dawnstar to know how excited she was, which might make Dawnstar change her thoughts and then make Maggotpaw stay an apprentice. So instead of grinning her head off and bouncing on her paws in anticipation, Maggotpaw nodded to Brackenfire and stared up at Dawnstar waiting to be called to get her name.

Dawnstar made a mental note of those who offered to come to ThunderClan with her and those who seemed to prefer to stay. Her daughter's words reached her ears and her attention returned to the matter in front of her. Dawnstar would never admit it, but she was just a little pleased to hear that Maggotpaw had finally got her act together. It was one less issue that Dawnstar had to worry about.

"It took you long enough," she grumbled peering down at the maggot with seemingly empty eyes. "I return your warrior rank and name, Foxstorm, but know that I will be keeping an eye on you. If you set a single claw out of line, I'm not going to be this generous a second time. You'll either be dead or looking for a new clan to join." Dawnstar has only ever given one cat more than a second chance, and look where it's gotten her. The molly had gone missing for whatever reason. The leader raised one paw made a shooing motion as she dismissed the she-cat.

As for the gnat buzzing in her ear, Dawnstar paid no heed to him. Brackentail was getting quite the break here. But if he wanted to act pathetic and beg so be it. Several of the cats around him were already muttering and giving him looks, he was only humiliating himself in front of the clan further.

"Orchidmoon, you'll lead one patrol with Ivypaw, Cougarivy, and Vixenpaw.
Rainburst, your patrol will consist of Shinepaw, Foxstorm, Pidgeonpaw, and Ravenblaze.
Ebonyfang, I want you leading Morningmask, Berrypaw, Redpaw, and Paleivy.
Grimhound, Fiercefire, Whispervine, Lynxpaw, your patrol leader is Brackenfire."

With her there would be about twenty cats, since she doubted this was going to be an all-out battle, she didn't mind bringing some less experienced apprentices with her. She had enough warriors to cover the inexperienced ones. Worst comes to worst, even if they did manage to make her retreat the first time, she merely bring more warriors the second time. There was no way ThunderClan was getting out of falling to her.

"Orchidmoon, your patrol will be coming with me when I talk to ThunderClan. I'm not interested in any worthless squirrel challenges, so you four will be dealing with any morons stupid enough to try and fight me. Ebonyfang, Brackenfire, and Rainburst, I want you and your patrols to surround the camp, but stay out of sight, use the trees if you have to. Their territory is not that different from ours. If necessary, we'll be ambushing them but only when I give the signal until then you stay out of sight." If all went well, this would be quick and easy.

"While I'm managing ThunderClan, since Shadestorm's proven less than dependable, Elmshadow and Owlfeather will be in charge of the camp. I doubt I'll be gone very long, but until then you can pester one of those three with your problems. Oh, and if one of you is up to it, I have a little mission you can do. I need a traitor found and brought back to ShadowClan, dead or alive. Redfur, a former ShadowClan warrior, tried to steal clan herbs and disappeared into the outskirts. Naturally, he's been exiled, but that doesn't mean his crime should go unpunished. No one steals from ShadowClan and gets away with it. If one of you is willing to go as far as hunting him down in the outskirts and bring him to me, it will show me how devoted you are to ShaowClan and may earn you one of the new ranks."

Dawnstar dismissed her clanmates by leaping from the Shadowledge and padding up to the cats that would be accompanying her. She'd have to remember to demote Shadestorm when she was done with all this. It was about time for her to find a more suitable deputy for ShadowClan.

Red’paw let out a quiet, but enthusiastic “YES!” he had been chosen! He couldn’t help but bounce and purr. But he should talk to Owl’feather, how’s mentor had been chosen to lead camp while him and his group where away, how exciting for her! But Red’paw got to go to thunderclan so he was definitely on top with this win. He’d get to show those lazy thunderclan fur balls a lesson or two and how Shadowclan was better than them in every way!
He turned to Needle’paw. “Sorry you don’t get to go, Needle’paw. But hey! At least one of us gets to!” he smiled.

Foxstorm smirked. It felt so good to hear her name again. Already she had straightened up and sat with more dignity, her ears pricked. Dawnstar didn’t even sound that annoyed at giving her back her rightful name. Perhaps she was always going to get her name back today, but Dawnstar just wanted to see what Brackenfire thought of Foxstorm’s performance for her. Which had obviously been good, which had then made Dawnstar even more confident in her decision. Made perfect sense to her.

She perked up even further when Dawnstar spoke of catching Redfur. There was also all that patrol stuff and Shadestorm being incompetent, but Foxstorm didn’t care for that. She hadn’t expected to be picked for the patrol, and whatever stupid things Shadestorm had done certainly didn’t concern her. But the Redfur thing, now that was something that concerned her. Stepping up, she raised her chin. “I can track down Redfur, Dawnstar,” Foxstorm meowed with confidence. This would prove even more that Foxstorm was still loyal.

The apprentice gave a smirk when her name was mentioned to go on a patrol. Now she would have a real battle experience if any of those squirrels decided to attack and she could show Dawnstar just how good she was! It was shame about Shadestorm, however. She had hoped he would have lasted longer before the leader became displeased with him, it would have given her time to become a recognized warrior and then deputy, but that was unlikely to happen now. Oh well, there were other ways to become important without being a high rank.

The scarred tom gave a huff from where he had been sitting in the shadows as he listened to his mother's plan. He was glad he hadn't spoken up, especially since there most likely wasn't going to be any fighting, but hunting down a traitor? Now that was something he loved. "I'll hunt down Redfur. Foxstorm, you're going on the ThunderClan patrol, how do you expect to be in two places at once?" he said as he shot a glare at the newly promoted molly.
