Brokenmoon immediately perked up. "I'll go" he hoped he was in time, they needed to find Bumblekit ASAP. This wouldn't be easy.

Orangetwist's ears perked and swiveled as Bumblestar shouted out to the Clan. She hustled over, listening in silent terror as the leader relayed the news. A kit, taken by a hawk. Attacked, but not downed. She flinched when what seemed like every cat in the clearing replied to Bumblestar's request for help. "Oh dear, oh dear..." she mumbled, shuffling her paws. No, no, she must stay positive -- there was still a chance they would retrieve the poor kit. Yes, she reassured herself, they would save the kit. After all, Bumblestar could do anything.

The calico she-cat had finally managed to nap until she was awoken by a clamor in the clearing. Curiosity and concern overrode any previous sleepiness and made her poke her head outside. She saw Bumblestar yelling -- not uncommon, but it still made her ears flatten and send a chill up her spine. Wait. A kit? A hawk? That... that could happen?? Timberpaw took a few steps back into the den, collapsing back into her nest as she took shallow breaths. No no, this was okay. They were gonna get Bumblekit and it was gonna be okay. She took a few deep breaths, in and out, before her thoughts shifted.
Maybe, maybe, if hawks were the problem, Timberpaw could learn to kill them. She didn't quite know where the idea came from, as she was far too small at her age to even try, but something told her that she could learn. Maybe she could even teach others. But she could imagine it, bringing down a hawk. It was so vivid, she swore she could even taste the sweet flesh of the dead bird. Fear turned to anger, anger to determination. She would need some more training, but one day, she would protect ThunderClan from all the hawks.

Grovekit watched all the commotion with wide eyes, making sure to stay out of the warriors' way. Ugh! She hoped she would be apprenticed soon, so she could be helpful with stuff like this! It felt awful and useless to be sitting around watching when a kit's life was in danger!
She new what her parents would say... that she was just a kit herself. But she was six moons old now! She was old enough to be an apprentice.
Bumblestar's ears twitched at Mudhound's request. It wasn't like it was unreasonable, but she didn't want to waste time corralling more warriors for this than necessary, and having two Hornets of three out of camp wasn't something she was keen on risking either in case something happened.
"Redhawk'll stay back 'n keep watch for any other birds." She shot the russet cat a look before returning her attention to her sibling. "Four cats is enough to handle a hawk or a RiverClan patrol if it comes down to it. We'll be fine."
Turning to survey the gathered cats, she called, "Vultureeye, Riversong! You two are comin' with. Follow Mudhound. They saw where it went so we're trusting 'em for directions. Let's go."
Whitekit stared at the kit in confusion. Just then, his mom Nightshine hustled over. "There you are, Whitekit! You scared me! Don't ever wander off like that again!" Nightshine fussed over Whitekit, even though he couldn't possibly understand what was goin on. Not if she was right about him, which she hoped she wasn't. The queen shivered.

Nightshine glared at the kit. "He's my kit, so of course I'm worried about him! And as for his "weird sounds and can't talk properly", I think that he might be deaf. I'm checking with the med cat soon. So try not to be so mean about it."
