Rainburst quietly walked into the meeting. Yes, yes, she was late again. Her usual happiness was replaced with a stone faced seriousness and she sat down a bit far from the Ledge. She could still, however, hear everything.

An idea of how to punish Maggotpaw further? Rainburst had no idea! A name change and demotion to apprentice would've been enough to shut her up forever!

And the strange Silverstones? Rainburst felt a trickling of guilt as Ravenblaze explained what they were. She wished she had knew something like that. She wished she had been useful this meeting. Rainburst shifted her paws and sighed.

Nightpaw looks at Dawnstar then Maggotpaw. "I say we exile her after tearing her pelt and make her beg for mercy." The black tom hisses angrily. "Or we make her die slowly in pain. Let her starve."
His dark eyes narrow as he glares at her.

Vixenpaw rolled her eyes in annoyance at the two toms. "Dawnstar literally just said if you're idea is to kill her then don't speak at all. Both of you need to shut your mouths, you're being just as dimwitted as Maggotpaw over there," she hissed.

Nightpaw glances at Vixenpaw. "That is killing her outright. We should make her suffer somehow." He counters, but not saying it harsh enough that Dawnstar would discipline him. Although he is wholesomely devoted to Dawnstar, the black cat would not want to be on the wrong side of her claws.

Rookscreech found little enjoyment in petty torture and conflicts. She was fairly sure half of her clanmates so eager for blood were fairly useless and simply didn't have the guts to satisfy their bloodthirst. The lived their little lives and loathed those above them and couldn't do anything so they just became a bloodthirsty mob when given the chance. When there were no consequences. Rookscreech was far from compassionate but she despised the notion of being part of the crowd mentally. Oh, people saw her as part of the crowd all the time. But it was fine only so long as they were wrong.

Spiderwebpaw was understandably upset about not getting to take a tour. She felt bad for her new apprentice. I’ll have to find some other cat to go with us. I don’t want anything to happen to him! She wanted to play if safe. If it put a few extra moons on his apprenticeship, it still wasn’t worth the risk. It shouldn’t. I’m sure this will all be cleared up soon. They’ll leave like they always have.

“I’m sorry Spiderwebpaw, but we can still practice inside the camp until we can find some cat willing to train with us. I’ll show you some hunting after this how does that sound?” She hoped her promise would cheer him up a bit. He was so hyper just a few heartbeats ago! He’s certainly a pawful.

Martenkit was beginning to get tired, and a little chilly. Specifically, his itsy bitsy feeties, which were getting tired of holding him up and just a bit chilly! So, content that the most interesting bit was beginning and he wouldn't be taking part, he dropped down, curling his tail around them in an effort to stay nice and warm. Good try buddy. Because it did just about nothing, and as soon as he had made it impossible to see over the crowd, Dawnstar asked a QUESTION! And he was gonna ANSWER IT! Because it looked like it was easy to see up on that rock, and he wouldn't be short anymore if he was up there!

Or maybe you automatically grew if you were the leader? Dawnstar was HUGE! HE wanted to be huge! But no, he was an itsy bitsy teensy tiny little kitty, but that would change! He would be a big bad leader, and everyone would fear him! He would be Martenstar, the most foul and terrifying! But first, question! Answer it, yes! And impress Dawnstar, who was currently the most foul. But he would be most foul soon enough! He just had to get a LITTLE bit older.

Hopping to his feet and into the air after a moment's thought, Martenkit made his suggestion. Oh! Make Maggotpaw teach all of the kits battle moves! And we can practice how to, like, mob an opponent! I bet we could win! Maybe it was a bit of a self-serving proposition, but surely the other kits could get behind the idea as well! It would be so much FUN! And they could beat her up, just like she deserved! OOH he really hoped Dawnstar heard him! Looking around for support, he didn't see any, but that must be a mistake! The nearest cat remarkably close to his size was soon reached, and he poked them firmly in the side. Right? Shouldn't we get to fight Maggotpaw?

~ IVYPAW ~

Admittedly, Ivypaw hadn't been paying much attention to the meeting. She'd been going over all the battle moves Shadestorm and Badgerscar had taught her. She was getting much better at standing on her hind paws now - she could actually stay in the air and swipe at the trees. Her claws were landing harsh blows and were growing sharper by the day, and tough muscles were beginning to form underneath her short yet thick fur. She was quite eager. But now Dawnstar brought up something that brought the apprentice back to her full attention. The great leader was asking them what they should do about Maggotpaw, who apparently wouldn't take a hint. Ivypaw's lip curled. Some cats were complete and total idiots. If she had been punished like that, she would've repented and gained back Dawnstar's trust, not made it worse. Was it really so hard? Maggotpaw was just a burden to ShadowClan at this point. They should get rid of her.

Yet Dawnstar didn't want her dead. Huh. Maybe there was something else that would work? Something to teach Maggotpaw humility, and to respect her leader. An idea entered her mind. Cats didn't listen much to Ivypaw's ideas, but she might as well throw it out there. The dark brown tabby she-cat stood up and fixed her sharp amber gaze on Dawnstar. "We should beat Maggotpaw up," she declared. "Give her wounds that'll last as scars, but not any that are fatal. But the catch is, we don't just exile her. Maggotpaw stays in ShadowClan, but she isn't allowed to get any treatment. She'll be stuck in camp, battered and bleeding, refused any treatment. To make it better, maybe she shouldn't get much to eat, either - a lot of other cats are recommending starvation, so that could be thrown in. Being surrounded by your Clan, helpless and injured. Surely that'll teach her some..." What was the word? "Humility."

Okay, so there was more news. Twoleg stuff. Creatures called deer. Something called silverstone. Dawnstar seemed to be taking precautions, which was smart, but the way some of what she said came off made Ivypaw think a little. Was Dawnstar being a tad bit soft? She wasn't sure - Ivypaw knew that she had a lot to understand. Dawnstar was just being smart and careful, that was all. No way was her great leader ever weak, even if Ivypaw didn't understand everything.

Daisypaw was torn. She didn’t want her former mentor killed or worse… exiled, but she also knew Maggotpaw deserved it. If they did go with Ivypaw’s suggestion then Maggotpaw could die… if it was any other cat she would have jumped right in. Instead Daisypaw thought of another idea.

“What if we send her away from camp for a while. A short exile. Maybe for a half a moon. “ she cast a sad glance at her old mentor. Daisypaw could not seem weak in front of Dawnstar.

First a new apprentice… than the whole Maggotpaw/Foxstorm thing again? Is there anything that isn’t fun at this meeting.

“I like Ivypaws idea! Except, we probably should feed her. We don’t want the other Clans to think us as monsters.” she let out a soft chuckle. The other Clans already thought them monsters. Or what did they say? Shadow-foxes?

She licked her paw and drew it over her ear. Maybe Dawnstar would hear her.
