"Yeah." Redmire huffed out the answer as she pulled herself further into the den, casting it a glance as the end of her tail twitched irritably.
"It was after you went after Fadingsun - after he'd bolted. Cats kind of went a little crazy. Strongstorm, or I guess Strongpaw now, threatened Grimpaw and I got in between them to make sure a fight didn't break out and just told him to back off.
"Goldfish butted in and blamed me for it, as if I was the one trying to start a fight or something. She didn't even try to figure out what was actually happening, even when I called her out on it! She just... doubled down, acted like I was in the wrong, and told me to go find something better to do even though I was already doing more than she was." Redmire glared at a set of clawmarks scored into one of the walls. "Then Owltalon ran over and tried to blame me for the commotion. No one paid attention to what was actually going on, except Sedgeflake and Ravenpaw- and Seabreeze." She'd nearly forgotten about the tom coming in toward the end to stick up for her. "If Strongpaw had actually hurt Grimpaw, I doubt either of his Lionhearts would have noticed; or if they did, I'd be the one getting blamed for it!"
Redmire just didn't get it. She had a temper, sure, but it only flared when cats did something to warrant it. She never once attempted to raise her claws against a Clanmate, or even expressed desire to, and she didn't understand why she was constantly treated as some sort of internal threat.
"I'm just aggravated. They act like they're blind and deaf to everything going on around them and then they refuse to acknowledge when they're wrong. It feels like I'm trying to talk to Fadingstar all over again."
...Well, that wasn't what she had expected to hear, and quite frankly it made her irritated. Never one to be good at hiding her emotions, the displeasure was clear over Stormstar's face as her ears flattened. Hearing that Breezy had been the one of reason surprised her a little, if only because outside of very recently, his presence around the Clan had been lackluster and had come to a T with his failed patrol report.
"Strongpaw's been demoted now, 'n I'll see to it he knows not to touch a hair on any 'paws head or he'll be outta here faster than he can blink." She made a note to keep an eye on the apprentice, she still had to talk to him to figure out why the hell he'd thought what he did was okay in the first place.
"I know things got tense durin' that... event, 'n 'specially after Fades ran out." Part of her wanted to think it was due to the dog fight - maybe both Lionhearts had sustained some sort of head injury? - but no. She didn't want problems like this to fester without any sort of communication. It wasn't demotion worthy, but she'd definitely be pulling the two in for a talk. "'Ppreciate you bein' the one to break it up, 'specially if it was a kid invovled. I'll talk to Owls 'n Goldfish, make sure we're not gonna have a repeat of my brother's era of unfair punishments." That was the last thing she wanted.
Stormstar rolled her shoulders back and let out a sigh. "Need to talk to the whole team, actually. Things're gonna be different around here with me in charge. No more... no more Fogmuzzle situations..." There was a far-away look in her eyes, something akin to regret, before she glanced back at Redmire. She knew the she-cat could often get heated, too, but her gut told her this was the truth of what had happened. "I know you've got a sharp tongue, 'n some cats just don't know what to do with that - I faced it ever since I joined RiverClan. So long as you don't raise a claw against another Clanmate though, I don't have a problem unless it'll put you or the Clan directly in any sort of danger."
Shifting her weight to one paw, she continued: "Thanks for lettin' me know. I've... got an uphill battle ahead of me to get this Clan where it needs to be, that's for sure." A gruff chuckle as she shook her head.
Dusklion's initial displeasure made Redmire flatten her ears, expecting more backlash. When nothing came, she forced herself to relax somewhat and tried to remind herself that Dusklion was not like Fadingstar or his minions. She was actually reasonable.
"I wasn't going to let a kid get hurt. He was being stupid, too, but he shouldn't get clawed for it. Strongpaw sounded like he really meant it. But, yeah, thanks for actually hearing me out on this." A pause, and then she added swiftly, "Goldfish's apology to Sedgeflake was crap. That's really the only thing I want from her personally, for her to actually admit she was wrong to my face." Lie. Redmire would love nothing more than to dunk Fishbreath's head into the river multiple times because she knew she would never get an actual, genuine, unprompted apology.
Whatever. This wasn't the time for that right now. Fogmuzzle... stars, why was a reminder of that necessary right now? She rolled her shoulders to conceal the shudder that rippled through her. "I'd never hurt one of my Clanmates. They might piss me off on the daily, but I could never go that far.
"And yeah, it's nothing. I figured I better let you know before someone else tried to twist the story in their favor. If you need any help - getting things moving again, I mean - I'm always here. Things have been going sour for so long... I know we can be better."
That sounded like the Grimpaw she knew. Kid had a mouth on him, that was for sure. The news of an apology sounded familiar - they had been the words Stormstar had caught back at the twoleg den. She knew the gold and black she-cat well enough to know that an apology wouldn't come easy, but perhaps there was a way to salvage this. Outside of this instance, her and Owls had been good, solid Lionhearts, but they would need to learn that Fadingstar's way of doing things was in the past.
"That's good to know." Not like she didn't alright. Her and Redmire were similar in that sense. Stormstar had been known to rip into a cat or two as well, sending their pelts flying up in defense - but she had never once raised a claw against a Clanmate unless they had earned that type of ire from her.
...Well, not in a way she didn't regret.
"We can, 'n we will." Fury's words echoed in her head as her jaws parted in a yawn; between the tragedy of the event, finding her brother's assumed death, moving the Clan, and visiting the Starcave, Stormstar hadn't really slept or eaten anything, and both were becoming glaringly obvious to her. "Glad to know I can call on you. It'll take the whole Clan to do it, 'n you've always been a hard worker so 'm not worried about it." She flashed Redmire an appreciative grin despite the exhaustion on her face.
Rising to her paws now, the leader blinked towards Redmire. "Anythin' else I should know about while I was gone? Gonna go see if I can spot Owls 'n Goldfish before this meetin' so I can get that sorted out." That definitely needed to be taken care of before the meeting, one hundred percent.
Well, okay. Redmire had pretty much melted when Cobwebfern had smiled at her during the meeting; now Dusklion was doing it, and she really thought she was going to physically turn into goop and collapse to the den floor. She managed a slightly wobbly half-smile in return. "Okay, right, yeah. I mean, no, that's- that was it. Only thing. Yep."
Yeah, great going.
Redmire cleared her throat, gave Dusklion the most dignified nod she could manage, and then turned and made a very quick leave.
Well that was... odd. Watching Redmire leave with a grin that turned into a puzzled on, the newly named leader decided to push it out of her mind for now. Following her out of the den, Stormstar stood at the entrance. She would need to call a meeting soon, but it was still pretty early and she didn't really wanna make the Clan get up any earlier than they had to. However, there were two specific cats she needed to talk to...
"Owltalon! Goldfish!" Hopefully the two would be in camp so she could get this straightened out. Another massive yawn parted her jaws, at the same time as a ripple of hunger rumbled through her. Shoving both of the feelings down, Stormstar waited at the entrance of her den for the two Lionhearts to make their way up.

Slowly Adderstrike walked into the leader's den. It seemed fitting that with a new den that there was a new leader. Perhaps the old camp was cursed and that den drained the life force from leader's. A curse that a leader just had to be in the den for it onset and fester in their soul. It was an interesting theory that she was building in her mind and despite how bad it would be that there was such a curse, it would be a relief that it is so in a way since now they were away from that cursed den. Now they could find solace in the storm. Hell would be raised if the storm was just another like the last few. The rogue group surely would just—
Adderstrike shook her head to dismiss such thoughts. There was something else that needed to be done here although, sadly, it was still gloomy in nature. Hopefully a crime that could be over looked. "Dusks..." Adderstrike wanted to add star but it just didn't feel right yet to say. "May I come in and talk to you?"

Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
With it still being as early as it was, the leader had remained in her den, for the most part trying to make it look at least... a little lived in. Scraps of a nest not nearly big enough, just gathered from what had been swept up with her tail. Something to distract herself before she called a meeting of the Clan together.
Hearing paw steps outside her den, Stormstar turned around to see Adds at the entrance, asking to come in. That reminded her... "Yeah, come on in, Adds," she gestured, turning to sit and face the young warrior. "It's uh... it's Stormstar now, actually. Fury - er, Goosefury changed it, when I was at the Starcave earlier." But there would be time to get into all that at the meeting. "What's up?"

“I can fix her!”
"Oh?" Adderstrike gave her a surprised look before coming over to sit down in front of Dus-Stormstar and gave her a warm smile. Quickly she check out the new leader and murred a laugh. "Its a very fitting name, I can feel the energy in the air around you." Metaphorically, of course. A cat couldn't possible call in a storm,... Well looking at Stormstar Adderstrike was going to put that up as a maybe.
Alright enough flattery. There was something that she wanted to say to Stormstar. Quickly the smile died away and she lowered her ears. "I'm sorry about Fading... It must be hard losing someone you were close to, and now you got the weight of the clan on your shoulders while you deal with this grief." Adderstrike said softly. She would never understand the feeling of losing a sibling. Sure she lost her parents, but to her they didn't exist as she never knew them. Thought sometimes she would wake up from a dream only remembering the scent of milk. It was sad, but just barely in her mind. She wasn't in the business of mourning something she never had... But Stormstar? She got to know her brother and spent so much time with him. Adderstrike didn't want to imagine what the shecat across from her was feeling right now. "With that being said, I'd like to offer my assistance with anything you need. I want to help Riverclan and taking some of your burden off of yourself I'm sure will help. If you are willing of course." Having that be said, Adderstrike came in here knowing fairly well there was a good chance that Stormstar would just say, 'Your normal duties are fine, continue on.' but where was the sin in offering?
It’s been a very short time since the clan had settled, or rather started to settle, into their new home and camp. It has been less time still since Dusklion had, hopefully, returned as Duskstar. She was certainly not wasting anytime about getting a name like Fadingstar and Birdsnow had done… maybe even faster than other warriors but also he couldn’t really remember that fair back even tho it really wasn’t that fair back at all… all things considered. Anyways! Enough tumbling down a useless train of thought the warrior pulled himself away from his place by the exit of the camp, the front one, where he had taken to guarding because he was too tired for everything else but his guilt actually kicked in when he was doing nothing…
It hasn’t done that in awhile. The guarding, though, had left plenty of time for Seabreeze’s thoughts to tumble on about this and that and usually this and that were him and his disuse to the clan. Especially recently. He knew Dusklion- sorry, Duskstar was pissed at him, and rightfully so, but until just recently… perhaps after the whole Covepaw thing and the actually doing things again thing, his brain is starting to come back from its floaty, endless apathy. Which led him to here. In front of the new leader’s den. He remembered visiting Fadingstar. He had been trying to visit Birdsnow but he was too scared and half the time backed out and the one time he tried to follow through, the feline hadn’t been in. Average Seab’ luck is all.
“Dusklion… or Duskstar now I hope…” He started, not wanting to invite himself in right away because it was very likely that Duskstar was busy with everything happening in camp recently. As expected. It’s likely the clan will be busy, Duskstar especially so, for some moons. “I wanted to talk to you about… things. Stuff we should probably talk about. Like my, uhhh… relapse, I guess you can call it.” He should be a poet with his way with words. He would kill in that profession. But he’ll have to stick with ol’ lionheart Seab. At least until he was kicked out of the rank just as he had been expecting any day for some time now. After all. He hasn’t exactly been a model.

[ Seab ( to my knowledge ) doesn’t know that Stormy is Stormstar now so uhh yeah. Also if this messes up your planned timeline for the lionheart meeting then just let me know and I can delete this o7 ]
