Snakestone gave a sly smile after Dawnstar finished speaking. The plan purposed seemed to sit right with him. He gave a nod and spoke up, "I wouldn't mind shredding a few fish, or RiverClan cats I come by." As Snakestone sat and looked at his leader, his intense green eyes now beamed with mischief.
Snakestone however grew deep in thought as he registered that there was no deputy- and how he would love to be it. Thinking to himself he said, "Well, now is your time to prove your capability to assist in leading Shadowclan back to the best clan he knows it is. No one would ever step all over the clan if I was deputy."
Clovernose padded after Splotchleaf. Dawnstar seemed quite angry after the gathering, at least that was nothing new.
Clover kept his ears down as he sat beside the tom. He was almost afraid to hear what their leader said.
~Splotchleaf~
He smiled at Clovernose as the cat sat beside him. It was a quick, soft thing before he centered his attention back on Dawnstar.
With every announcement his eyes seemed to grew wider and wider. Shifting in his spot her grumbled with a low growl “Kestrelstar is mousebrained for doing that.” he was still processing everything else as he got that one but out.
~Flametail~
Seeing his apprentice, a smile grew along his muzzle and her motioned for Darkpaw to join him. Though, when Dawnstar started speaking, the quick smile fell just as fast as it had come.
@Ashnose ~Sheepglow~
Terror stirred in her belly as she lowered her ears. She wasn’t sure she could do what Dawnstar wanted of them, it’d take pushing herself, but she’d do it. She didn’t feel like having Dawnstar view her as disloyal.

Pinewhisker looked at Dawnstar with surprise, she hadn't really cared about that stuff but when she thought about it she remembered that Marshwolf had been the one to call the last patrols... I wounder who will get as our new deputy...?
Hollyrose yawned, she had no interest in who was deputy.
Shadestripe's ears pricked up. Well, well, would you look at that the deputy position seems to be open...
the odd voice hissed to him inside his head The opportunity is right there... will you take it... or not?
Shadestripe didn't usually listen to the voice in his mind but... it had a point this time...
I'll take it... That's better... We have mush to work on... We'll start with your look, sit up straighter and don't look so angry all the time
He sighed, as mush as he resented the voice, it was right... He straitened his back and raised his head, wrapping his tail over his fore paws. Good, good, now, quiz time... What should you do if you find a dying rouge, anywhere?
Kill it! Kill it, bring it to camp and say it was on our territory and that I killed it... Purrfect... And make sure to be extra productive-
Yeah, yeah, we can talk later, I need to listen
Shadestripe mewed in his mind, he had agreed to let the voice mentor him, not to like it...
Well, it seemed as though Dawnstar had finally gotten around to what had been coming for moons. Finchwhisker was rarely seen around at this point, and having been assigned to a patrol by someone other than him in the past bit of time Shrewstep imagined having him out of the way would do a bit for fortifying borders and increasing hunting patrols. That was something to be glad of at least. Although who the new deputy would be was a bit of a matter for concern. Really he could live with anyone Frogfang aside, but knowing the little weasel he'd be trying to worm into Dawnstar's good graces as soon as he heard those words.

Marshwolf was the new patrol leader?! Stars, how funny was his luck?! Finchpaw was losing his ability to claim the warrior wasn’t significant..
His suprise turned slightly to annoyance as he realized that his antics towards his mentor would not... tolerated as much of Marshwolf kept getting higher in their clan rankings.
Ugh, he hated sucking up but he did want to go on patrol, especially around the Windclan border.
Glancing at his mentor across the clearing his eyes flashed with challenge.
Oh well, he would test the waters with his attitude... slower.
He left Rookpaw’s side, flicking his ear in goodbye and padded over to his mentor.
“Congratulations,” he muttered dipping his head respectfully.
Stemhop waited until Dawnstar finished speaking before speaking up,”Do we have permission to trespass into Riverclan to shred those at the border?” she meowed hoping it was a yes, she loved the opportunity to shred a few cats. She paused for a second,” I also think some battle training might be a good idea for the warriors, to keep are skills sharp for the inevitable battle with Windclan.” she meowed, hoping Dawnstar wouldn’t think she was overstepping. She honestly, found the prospect of deputy quiet interesting, leader was her overall goal, but deputy would do, serve Dawnstar and strengthen Shadowclan, she found the concept quite appealing.

So, this was more important than she thought. Finally an interesting meeting without someone dying. It was something that made her want to keep living in Shadowclan, instead of running out and finding somewhere where she didn't live in constant fear of losing somebody. That would be nice. Really nice. She hadn't known that Finchwhisker had been negligent of his duties. She had just thought that she wasn't being put on patrols because of, well, just because. She wouldn't have reported it anyway. They were in the same boat. Two mentors who didn't about their apprentices' rebellion. A rebellion that could have saved them all.
The brown tabby stood up and walked closer to the Shadowledge. Falconfeather started up at the murderer who was their leader and began to speak. "I agree that you should take out of place a deputy that failed at one of the most important jobs. And it makes sense to reward the cat who brought it up." She took the pause to nod to Marshwolf. Despite hating half the cats in Shadowclan, she still appreciated when someone stepped up for the good of the many, whether it was for that reason or one more... ambitious. "But I hope you have someone in mind to replace Finchwhisker soon. What'll we do at the next gathering? Have Marshwolf sit up there?" She barely knew the cat. Shouldn't the deputy be someone who radiates respect and strength?
Ravenpaw hadn’t gone to the gathering, they were too busy fighting Windclan, so they were grateful to hear the summary from Dawnstar, even if it was probably biased.
A new deputy seemed like a good idea. Ravenpaw hadn’t gone on a patrol in a while.

The Warrior's pelt bristled as Dawnstar spoke of the RiverClan cat's remarks. They were ShadowClan! ShadowClan, of all Clans! RiverClan wouldn't get away from this unscathed, that was for sure.
