Daywhisper quirked a brow, she could tell he was leaving something out, but they had a whole patrol to talk about it so she let it be, for now at least. She nodded to him before padding out into Windclan territory.
After they were out of earshot of camp she spoke "Starry Meadows is... uh... where we bury fallen clanmates" She said, a solemn expression replacing her normal bubbly smile. She wasn't sure if she'd ever brought Ashpaw here, she barely visited this part of the territory.
As they neared the flower-covered grassland an eerie feeling crept up her spine. She knew some of her ancestors rested here, her bio father included. A soft sigh escaped her maw as she turned to Ashpaw, an uneasy smile on her maw "Different cats have different opinions on hunting here- With leaf-bare coming up I do understand the need... I just worry it's disturbing our dead-" a nervous laugh escaping her maw, she had to keep her focus on the task at hand.
The patrol. Okay. The large she-cat sniffed the air "Stay within eyeshot, but if you must go farther at least make sure I'm close enough to hear you if something happens. I trust you'll do well" She said with a nod and a soft purr, following the first scent she caught.
Ashpaw didn’t answer at first, making it look like he didn’t hear his mentor saying what was the Starry Meadows. At last, he talked. “Okay” he said, not with a scared tone but more with an uneasy one. He was disturbed by the fact that he could, at any moment, walk just above some cat skeletons — or bodies.
The apprentice nodded at his mentor’s instructions. He wasn’t intending to do that anyways. This place made him tense. Seeing Daywhisper following a scent, Ashpaw tried to find one too. At the first one he found, he tried to focus on or to forget where he was. What prey is it? he thought. Probably a rabbit. he slowly approached it, crouching. Verifying the wind’s direction, he approached even more, and then jumped. Putting his claws forward, he tried to land on the rabbit — that got the time to see him and ran away. Ashpaw tried to chase out, but realising he was going further away from Daywhisper, he came back and searched for another scent trail.

Daywhisper sniffed, it seemed like it was just a mouse she smelled, but that's okay! Prey is prey. She thought to herself as she crouched, creeping forward, leaping when she was close enough to.
[ Rolled an 8 ]
She missed, though overall her crouch and leap were good, it'd managed to move out of the way. Daywhisper landed decently well though, she sighed as she watched the mouse scurry away. She hoped her apprentice was having better luck.

Ashpaw managed to find a mouse. That will be easier, he thought. Getting the correct angle, he crouched and crept forward.

Then he leaped, this time managing to land on the mouse, killing it directly. Good. The more we catch the quicker we get away from this place, he thought.

Daywhisper's ears perked up as she heard something, it didn't sound like a cat. She lifted her nose, parting her jaw as she smelled the air. It was a rabbit! The large Windclan warrior crouched, slowly making her way toward the rabbit. It seemed to be stopping to eat. Perfect. She crept forward, stopping once she was close enough to pounce. The large she-cat pushed off with her hind legs, launching herself forward.
[ Rolled a 19 ]
She landed skillfully on it, sinking her claws in before skillfully killing it. She let out a relieved breath, burying her rabbit before moving on to the next smell. It waaaaas... a magpie! Daywhisper quickly darted toward the scent, making sure to keep her tail off the ground and to not make any sounds. Once she could see it she once more leaped into the air, aiming to land on the bird.
[ Rolled a 4 ]
She mistimed her jump, almost falling but luckily managed to catch herself. There was still a shot though, the magpie went to fly off, she lashed a paw out at it, attempting to hook a claw into it.
[ Rolled an 11 ]
Daywhisper managed to just barely sink her claws into the wing of the bird, pulling it to the ground with a thud. A pang of guilt clawed at her stomach as she killed the flailing creature as quickly and cleanly as possible, hoping she hadn't let it suffer too long. She sighed and buried it with her rabbit. One more thing and she could call it a day, perhaps on the way home she'd find something too.
She sniffed the air, her tail gently swaying behind her. A squirrel! She sprinted off in the direction of the smell. She quickly caught a glimpse of it and went in for the catch.
[ Rolled a 16 ]
The large Windclan warrior pounced, landing on the squirrel before killing it swiftly. She unburied the rest of her prey before picking it up and making her way back to where she'd started. Finally, she could get out of there and let the dead rest without any disturbances. She looked around for Ashpaw.
That's when she saw something that almost made her jump out of her fur. A deer stood in the clearing, an intimidating set of antlers upon it's head. It didn't seem to be paying much mind to the two cats, but Daywhisper still remained wary. Her gaze darted around, Where was Ashpaw? She hoped he'd see it and be careful. She herself had never actually seen a deep, especially not up this close.
She shot it a few curious glances between searching for her apprentice. These things were giant... woah

Ashpaw looked for another prey. Sniffing, he found a trail. It was a rabbit. He crouched and slowly approached it, and then leaped.
[Rolled a 17]
The apprentice managed to land on the rabbit, killing it almost directly. He let out a sigh of contentment before continuing on to the next prey, hearing it before smelling it. It was a thrush.
[Rolled a 19]
Ashpaw crouched and almost immediately leaped on the bird, almost slipping when he did so. As a result, he landed next to the bird and not on it, and Ashpaw had to contorsionniste on himself in order to catch it before it escaped. Prong his claws on its tiny neck, he killed it quickly. He buried it with the rabbit and the mouse. Then the apprentice smelled something. A hare, he thought. Crouching, he approached it and leaped…
[Ahhh rolled a 1 ]
… Only to land completely off the mark. Ashpaw found, where he expected it to be a soft prey, some hard ground — probably with some sharp stones — and landed on it, slightly cutting his front left paw. He stifled a cry as he felt a sharp pain in his paw. He nonetheless turned around and got up, but the hare was gone.
[ Rolled a 15 and a 13; kept 13]
Finding another scent, he followed it, half limping. Then he crouched. Slowly going forward, he saw that it was a magpie, one of those long-tailed birds. He leaped using his back legs only, and landed, trying not to use his left paw to kill the bird. He almost missed, but succeeded in killing the bird. He brought it back to the two prey he already caught and tried to find Daywhisper.

At least Mistypaw had been.....chill about the whole thing. Deadmoon had her flowers, they were making their way quickly enough towards Starry Meadow, and she would be able to let Mistypaw go off on her way soon. This was good, yes, this was a good thing. She could do this without becoming a blubbering mess, and then they could get back to camp in time for her apprentice to have a nice, relaxing evening and for her to.....do something. Who knows what she was going to do. Nothing that exciting, to be sure.
But now, the flowers. Her family and friends. She placed the marigold on a larger rock, gazing up at the sky. That was the only place she knew to look for Breezefeather. Maybe towards the old Windclan territory. Yes. That was it. I miss you. she whispered quietly. I miss you. But I hope you'd be glad that I'm.....more responsible now. Less wild. I hope you would be anyway. Berryfrost, now. Less painful for her, but still demanding of the greatest respect. I hope you're......you're doing alright. Your kits are a little silly, but Snowybreeze has been a great father. They're fantastic.
Wolffang. Harder. Neither dulled by separation or time as the other two had been, and the most likely to end with her crying. Mostly because mixed emotions and all that. But she was going to hold it together, because she wasn't a wimp like that. I miss you. No duh. she mewed, placing the final flower on his grave. I talked to Leopardsong. Your kits are beautiful. She's.....everyone's taking good care of them. If you get the chance yell at Rosebriar for me, alright? Huh, better than expected. No blubbering. A few sniffles, but that was fine. Right. We're done, just heading back to camp now. she mewed, turning to walk away. One glance back, and then Deadmoon was out of the meadow and on her way back to camp, presumably with Mistypaw in tow. @Ome

Hearing the sadness in her mentor's voice, Mistypaw moved closed, placing a few flowers down as well in respect to those who laid here now. She quickly followed behind as they left to go back to camp.

TW: Discussion of death, grief, and burial
Rabbitpaw took to the familiar trail that was the trek from the main camp to the starry meadow. It was one that he has taken quite a few times in his life, and it has been awhile since he last visited his siblings and his mother. It was strange, how while it still hurt to know that his mom was gone, it wasn't all encompassing. Not like the world ending feeling it had given him for the moon that followed. His brother... Vixenpaw. That still felt like that. One moment Rabbitpaw saw him everywhere training to be a tunneler and having fun despite the loss and then the next... he was gone. Like all his other siblings. He didn't have a single one left, did he? He mourned, but he didn't let that hold him back anymore. Doing nothing does little for himself, his siblings, and the clan they all shared.
The field came into view and Rabbitpaw didn't really wait around before making his way to where his family was buried specifically. The last time he was here with Crowtooth it was more about the overwhelming sense of guilt that was drowning him. Now he was just here to actually pay a quick visit before continuing with whatever strange little hang out they were having. "Would it be wrong of me to bury something in honor of Vixenpaw here?" He figured that even of Vixenpaw would still be out there, if he wasn't, the younger tom would appreciate the thought, watching down from the stars.
"Perhaps a bit morbid. He's been gone for some time now. I would like to believe he is to return to Windclan and me someday but if he can't anymore, I don't want him to be separated from our family any longer." Rabbitpaw, if he were walking in Vixenpaw's paws, would see the action for what it meant despite the fact that being believed dead would be upsetting at first. If he got lost one day, he wouldn't want to remain lost forever if he can't return to Windclan in life. The blonde looked to Crowtooth, wanting to hear about the older tom's thoughts on it before continuing with whatever burial thing Rabbitpaw was planning.

[ Sorry for the delay ]
Rabbitpaw gif made by ramen!
The walk was long and quiet and something in Crowtooth could tell Rabbitpaw didnt really want to talk, so the tom stayed quiet. He did make sure to stay in pace with the apprentice and walk with their sides brushing however, if asked it was because he was cold and totally not because he wanted to cuddle. Nope.
The starry meadow was.... Well it was normal really, perhaps a bit blanketed with a light layer of white snow and even more quiet then normal. Nevertheless Crowtooth broke away to dust the snow off of the stone that marked Bravebirds grave, an ear on Rabbitpaw as he did.
"I dont think its wrong ta do a memorial. Im sorry ya dont 'ave the closure that'd help ya an' it aint morbid ta wanna close that chapter in this way, find a sorta conclusion in yer own mind. Would be morbid ta bring 'im here if he does come back.
Might do one fer Winterpaw myself even. Just not right now."
Crowtooth often still wondered in the quiet moment if he couldve done something more to stop his old apprentice from going missing. If something had happened to take him away that the mentor hadnt been able to stop. But even as a mentor, a deputy, he couldnt control all aspects of life so he made sure to not linger on it.
"Ya cant.... Ya cant hold yerself responsible fer this by the way kiddo. Yer a kid still, brother or not the adults are the ones who should be doin' more. An' even then, no one can control everythin' an' life sometimes just... happens. As unsatifyin' that can feel. Ya did yer best, more than even, dont let loss stop ya from bein' happy. Because trust me" A fond, bittersweet look down at the grave that held his sister. "That aint what anyone who loves ya wants."
Stumbelkit tumbled through the foliage, determined to prove himself. He may suffer from strange wobbling and constant imbalance, but he would never let that stop him from becoming an apprentice! He'd make it all the way to Shadowclan border and back to camp, proving his apprentice ceremony was long overdue! But... The problem was... He had no idea where he was. The wobbling trees all looked the same and his heart sank with each identical rock and flower, wandering deeper into nowhere. He meowed out in fear like the kit he was, calling for a mother he didn't have. He heard rustling behind him and froze, the sudden movement making him topple over. He teared up, angry at starclan for making him this way. Angry that he was taken by twolegs and missed his ceremony, angry at himself for getting lost. Everything was hopeless. He'd never be a warrior. Whatever was in that bush was sure to swallow him whole.
