Owl walked silently through the forest, hoping to find another cat. Sure, maybe they would kick her out, but she didn't have many choices. Her yellow eyes were frightened, giving away the fear she felt beneath her calm exterior. Owl glanced nervously around, hoping she hadn't made a terrible mistake by coming here.

Two black cats sat at the border, one jumping impatiently from paw to paw. "Ack, come on, Fang," the other frowned.
"I can't help it! I'm gonna' join ThunderClan!" Fang exclaimed gleefully.

He was in..? He was in! Aster couldn't help the light thumping of his tail or the smile that wanted to split his skull in half. "Aster," he supplied at his leader's (his LEADER'S) question, "My name is Aster."

Aster. Like Asterdance. Bumblestar's whiskers twitched - she hoped her friend wouldn't mind a double. "Well, in ThunderClan, we do names a little different. Since you'll be training to be a warrior, you'll be called Asterpaw. At the next meeting I'll get you situated with a mentor. You can follow me for now, I'll take you to camp."

"Yeah, I'm the leader. You can call me Bumblestar." She flicked an ear. "No need for that... y'know, formal stuff, I don't like it."

She took a moment to glance the cat over, considering a few options. Finally, she grunted, "Okay, usually I don't do this, but I wanna test out your skills. We'll do a mock fight, 'n if I like what I see than we can skip the apprentice thing for you."

Bumblestar backed up a few steps and flicked her tail. "Your move first."

He looked up in surprise, but she grinned as soon as he realized the opportunity. She didn't waste a second rushing straight at Bumblestar to trick her, before swerving to go behind her and push her off balance from the back.

So many young cats coming through lately. Bumblestar wasn't entirely sure what that was about, but they were easier to catch, so she didn't really mind.

"Yo, pipsqueak." She dropped down from a tree behind the intruder, staring her down with a blank expression. "You're over ThunderClan's borders. What do you want?"

Eyes bright, Asterpaw Follows after his leader, nearly vibrating from the joy and pride. He'd done it. He's in. His new life awaits, and he'll be the best warrior ThunderClan has ever seen. Nothing was going to stop him now!

Ooo, a pair this time. That was rare. The only group she'd come across were those two freaks a while back - she hoped these two were different. They seemed excitable.

"Hey, you." Bumblestar emerged from the undergrowth, sharp eyes sweeping over them. "Fang, was it? You're bein' noisy right by my border, keep it down. Why are you here?"

Bumblestar ran her tongue over her jaws. Predictable, but she'd roll with it - literally.

She allowed Hawks to slam his weight into her, and rolled smoothly with the momentum of the attack. Her hind paws shot out to kick him in the chest to knock him off-guard as she leaped back to her paws and then immediately lunged, looking to catch him around the neck and pull him down.

Hawk didn't expect a leader to be so easy to knock down, and hopped to the side to avoid her hind paws. Awkward, but it worked well enough that he managed to lunge straight into her lunge to try and collide with her.
