So they weren't littermates. Good to know incase he mixed it up at some point. He smiled warmly as Whisperingpaw greeted him. Perhaps he'd really gotten two apprentices and not one. "Of course you two can train together! I wouldn't separate you, since you're both so close." they purred, playfully booping Streampaw's nose with the tip of his tail. The apprentice seemed lost on what to do first, so Riptide would have to decide what they should do. "I'd say a territory tour is first. Can't patrol and hunt without knowing the territory!" they said, turning to Whisperingpaw. Should he ask her who her mentor is? Would they be fine with him taking their apprentice out??? "Whisperingpaw, do you think your mentor would be fine with you training with me and Streampaw?" he asked. Imagine if her mentor was some gruff and mean warrior! He really wouldn't want to piss them off.

He angled his ears, turning toward Owlstar as she announced new warriors, and even a new role, a Caretaker. "Softshade! Softshade! Daisypaw! Daisypaw!" he cheered. How would Caretaker work? It sounded like just a medicine cat. But alas. Their face brightened as Sunheart was announced as the new deputy. He smiled at the two apprentices. "Come on! Lets cheer for him!" he said excitedly, calling out Sunheart's name. "SUNHEART! SUNHEART! SUNHEART!" he cheered loudly. Today was a pretty good day.

Brokenstream. Sunheart. Sunheart. Her mentor? Her mentor was..deputy? Well- it made sense if he've the head Lionheart. Deputy? Of course, of course. She should've expected that. She should've. She's always known Broken was an unfortunate prefix, always did. Brokenstream. Sunheart. Deputy. The whole meeting had gone by too quick for Soaringpaw and Soaringpaw's roleplayer who's been lacking a bit lately. Would this change? Would this change anything? Would her mentor being deputy change anything? Anything..anything substantial? Surely not. It's just..a role. But if Brok- Sunheart was deputy..if Owlstar dies, he's gonna end up as leader. Not that..not that that was a bad thing, but..considering the clan's apparent nonexistent luck around leaders and dying..(which the other clans doesn't seem to be experiencing, by the way) she just didn't trust that history too much. If Sunheart dies, at least let Soaringpaw be a warrior first. Speaking of warrior..goddamit, she still had training to finish and- a whole assessment that hasn't even started. She was as slow as a turtle and her name was Soaringpaw for crying out loud. It's dumb, it's stupid. Why was she facing a stubborn brick wall in the middle of her apprenticeship!?

She tried to scan the crowd for Sunheart— who she'll assume would be saying something about the new role. Argh, why was the thought of training suddenly hitting her faster than a hawk. And Soaringpaw- yea she was fine with Sunheart being deputy and all but she also isn't one to cheer out loud about anythin', if ever.

RowanMane tried not to flinch at the voice exploding beside him. YOU DID IT! About 10x louder than his own more humble muttering to her. Eh- he wouldn’t argue. Seeing her light up like she did meant the world to him. She was his everything, the reason that he still stood on the ground he did today. His love- his motivation- he could go on. His head lifted slightly as she nuzzled his neck, and he hardly cared about his fur getting messed up. Hearing her say he did it…that’s what really made him realize he was there…because of her. Then those words slipped her mouth. His favorite words to hear from her…”I love ya too Wisty…thank you.” he purred to his mate.

His gaze quickly flicked to StarryPaw upon her approaching, and flashed a welcoming smile her way. “Thank ya StarryPaw…I try. Ya wanna sit with us for the rest of the meetin’?” he invited, sending a questioning glance to his mate for her approval.

Before he knew what was happening, Owls was onto bringing up her new deputy. He had a solid guess on who, but he still listened intently. As he thought- SunHeart. The younger tom would be his first choice too, he’d proven himself a large account of times. RowanMane was proud of the kid. “SunHeart! SunHeart!” he joined the chants with a proud flick of his tail.

The kit watched the announcements with awe. She knew the clan had no Deputy until now thanks to hushed whispers, but it hadn't been something she'd thought too hard about. But now? Surely everything would be okay. Sprucekit eagerly joined in chanting Sunheart and Softshade's names.

Redsurge padded up behind Waveclaw, her heterochromatic blue-and-yellow gaze pinned on the other warrior. ''Kits are allowed to watch the meetings. How else would she know to step forward for her apprentice ceremony whenever the time comes?''

Without waiting for a response from Waveclaw, Redsurge turned her gaze to Sprucekit. ''Don't worry about it, Sprucekit. You're allowed to watch, don't let Waveclaw here tell you otherwise,'' the warrior sat beside the she-kit, eyes narrowed and firmly fixed on Waveclaw. ''If you have nothing else to say, Waveclaw, you better get back to paying attention.''

Oh. Would you look at that. After Softshade and Daisypaw are spoken about Owlstar throws a curveball and names a new deputy. Just as they were wondering about whether or not the clan would ever begin to regain it's strength... Not a bad choice. Riverclan needed more devoted cats amongst it's ranks. Nodding in approval, they clear their throat so they can speak up in celebration for the news.

"Yaayy, Softshade and Daisypaw... Wooo, Sunheart... Nicely done..."

Their voice is quiet beneath the cacophony of cheers but they do their part nonetheless. A small smile graces their maw as they watch the clan flourish with positive energy.
