GENTLEDOE
messy-furred brown she-cat with heterochromia. she/her
Gentledoe had an idea. A wondrous idea. An idea for the little kits of the Clan to partake in to lighten up the mood. Soft paws bounding into the Kit Corner, the messy-furred she-cat sat down and smiled. Ah, before she called everyone over...
"Bumblestar, love, could you come here to assist me? I have a fun little activity for the kits to complete," she called out with a purr.
Clearing her throat, she continued on her task. Oh, this would be quite fun!
"May all kits of ThunderClan come forward for... mm, a challenge!"
-
[ How will this work? ]
[ Kits will be assigned into 'patrols' to do tasks around camp, such as cleaning up dens. These 'patrols' will go just like normal ones- you get a specific amount of time to finish and report them to Gentledoe or Bumblestar- only without the punishments. These patrols will count toward one Kit Curriculum requirement. However, in order for them to count, each kit must make at least two posts as well as a report before they are counted as participating in the 'patrol'! ]
If you have been mentioned, you have a kit on the Allegiances. These patrols are OPTIONAL!
You will only be assigned to one if you post with your kit in response to this!
Dovefluff only looked at Bumblestar out of fear that she'd see suspicion in the eyes of someone else, and nodded slowly. "I will." She murmured softly. The blood clung to her fur, but it shouldn't take long to make herself look presentable, as messy as it was. She stepped back, giving Gentledoe a tight, grateful smile before trying to run her tongue and paw over the crimson staining her soft gray fur, stumbling back. Not wanting to hold anyone up, she worked fast, only looking up when she hear yelling.
Oh. Darkpetal's daughter, she was pretty sure. Intuition kicked in, and as Hazelpaw lunged, so did Dovefluff, quickly sliding herself in between the two apprentices, ignoring the sting of any claws that hit her, stepping back a few times to steady herself as the momentum that would've been used to attack Cracklepaw (which, she didn't want to sound cruel, but he deserved it a tad. not being hurt, but perhaps a bit of being put in his place) was bowling into her. Barely flinching, she looked down at the grieving molly with the tears of grief sparkling in her eyes, and Dove was very glad she had had time to wash the poor cat's blood off of her. It would've probably been horrifying.
"Hey... hey... I'm sorry, honey. I'm so sorry." She whispered. And she wanted to wrap the poor child in her embrace and just shove away the coldness of the world, but she didn't want to overstep or make the molly uncomfortable, so the former ShadowClan queen just glanced back at Cracklepaw, praying that he would keep his mouth shut. "It's not worth it. Trust me, it's not. Don't put yourself at risk for injury or consequences. Do you want to come with me to see him? I... you can stay if you'd like, no one's going to make you, but if you do, you're welcome to stick with me, okay sweetheart?"
While she didn't want to expose the younger cat to the mangled corpse of her father, she also didn't want to rob her of closure or the final goodbye. It was a tricky situation. If Hazelpaw would allow her, Dove would ease her into a more stable position, and would guide her gently away from Cracklepaw. For the love of StarClan, Cracklepaw, don't say anything."I'll be taking whoever wants to come pay their respects to Willow's Rise, now." She announced softly, rising to her paws, and if Hazelpaw was following, she would keep close to the apprentice, offering silent comfort through this horrific time.

There was a body. Lotuskit hurried to obey Stormbro's orders, skipping into the nursery, but Fireflykit stayed where she was, sitting by the warrior's den. Her face was twisted in sadness for the poor tomcat who had been killed, but she didn't move towards the nursery. She was 7 moons old, had seen worse, and would rather hug a badger than set foot in the nursery. So the tortie stayed where she was, merely turning away from the body with a small sniffle.
This Clan was just so... messy. So sad. She hated it, and wished she could do something to change it.
He acknowledged DUMBble'stars words with a quick roll of the eye. Pffft- whatever. Why would he even act up over something so dumb? This was obviously another case of the new leader being quite daft. Not really a surprise though. He didn't bother to give his attention any further to the argument and simply listed her words as a quiet agreement. Dead panning his bored gaze over to the entrance in camp, Crackle'paw was about to head out when a splitting screech reached his ears. To his surprise Hazel'paw was lunging right at him.
Eyes flashing in utter surprise, his muscles tensed as he readied himself for the attack. But it never came. Gaze showing even more confusion, he found that Dove'fluff had saved him from the blow. He should've just been grateful that the queen saved his pelt from a good scratching, but that emotion rendered useless in his fool hardy mind. Peeling his lips back into a snarl, the apprentice attempted to shove past Dove'fluff. " Oh! It's worth it all right! This idiot wants to fight me, so let her!" snarling out the words he carried on, hoping to lite this fire even more. "C'mon Hazel'paw! Come and show me your not a nobody, unlike you father!" cackling darkly, he felt eager claws sink into the ground. " Maybe you can even put up a better fight than what he did!" With that last comment tossed out to the wind, Crackle'paw waited for a reaction; gleeful eyes narrowing down to small slits that held nothing but sick amusement.
Either this was a nasty test from StarClan, or there really was a curse plaguing her Clan.
Bumblestar swung her head around to see Gentledoe and Stormclaw step into camp with yet another body. She stared for a moment, before quickly collecting herself and rising to meet Gentledoe halfway. The hushed explanation made her ears twitch. "Go help Stormclaw with the body. I'll take care of this."
She turned furious eyes on Petalfight, glancing the she-cat over. There was no blood on her paws, so either she had been fast with cleaning herself up, or WindClan was at fault here. "Start talkin'," she snapped. "You better have a damn good reason for this."
**Petalflight**
The calico she-cat moved silently, her head held up and her pace even but her mind mercifully blank. She knew what she was potentially walking into beside the warriors escorting her along with her friend’s body, her friend whose death, she was sure, would weigh on her for the future moons in much the same way Beetle’s death still plagued her nightmares sometimes. Her claws had been clean in both deaths and they’d been the last cats she’d ever want to see as they’d become but she couldn’t deny her existence, her presence and her active choices, were what had led them to their untimely deaths. Maybe that all gave her the peace she was feeling, or maybe it was the void of numbness, the void she’d developed to distance herself from everything she could’ve felt toward her life. Feelings were an unnecessary liability, they hindered the goal she’d always held for herself: survive. But three times now she’d let cats mean something to her, and now she was sure it’d be those three mistakes that’d mean failure in her goal.
She kept her green eyes facing forward, not daring nor caring to watch her surroundings or the warriors leading her to her fate. She was blind to what was going on in the clearing as she moved in with her escorts, a blessing she was not too numb to recognize. She’d always been observant and intuitive, sometimes more than she wished, but now it was the opposite. Until something in her mind told her Bumblestar was approaching and she realized she wasn’t blind at all, just numb after all. Petalflight let her green eyes move to meet Bumblestar’s eyes, eyes sparking with fury, and Petalflight became suddenly starkly aware of her situation, of where she’d been, of Blackfir’s body, of her own lack of injury, but she’d already resigned herself to what she had to do.
She still knew little of the clan’s ways and shows of respect, though she knew to respect the leader. Not wanting the hesitation to be taken as indecision on her following words, Petalflight conducted no preamble and simply met Bumblestar’s stare and began, ”I went to the border, to meet a Windclanner. Blackfir followed me, I did not realize that he had. He saw the Windclanner and I guess thought he was a threat.” Petalflight knew there had been no perceived threats and she quickly had realized Blackfir’s true motives and heated emotions but none of it seemed relevant or necessary now, besides in the end it was only her guessing anyway. ”Blackfir attacked the Windclanner and the Windclanner fought back, and killed him.” Petalflight risked a glance back toward where Blackfir’s body lay, his clanmates mourning him, as she admitted aloud for the first time that Blackfir had indeed been killed. Her eyes quickly moved back to Bumblestar, ”It happened so quickly,” but how truthful was that? It had been fast but Petalflight had made it this far in life making quick decisions in stressful, deadly situations. But this had been different.

It happened far too quickly for her to react in time. Hazelpaw, rightfully upset, rocketed forward out of nowhere before Dovefluff stepped in to take the brunt of the attack. Bumblestar took a step back, startled by the display. At first it seemed like it was handled. But then Cracklepaw opened his great big mouth again.
Bumblestar stepped around the other two quickly to intercept the apprentice before an actual fight could break out. "That's enough outta you," she snapped. "You're remaining behind." No, she didn't agree with Hazelpaw's decision to attack a Clanmate, but clearly the apprentice was distressed, and with the added mockery from Cracklepaw, Bumblestar really couldn't blame her. "I don't want to hear another word from you taunting either Hazelpaw or her father. Go to the apprentices' den. Now."
Dovefluff only looked at Bumblestar out of fear that she'd see suspicion in the eyes of someone else, and nodded slowly. "I will." She murmured softly. Ah yes, time to go along. The she-cat followed after, trying to keep her back from their great leader, and defend the rest of the clan. If she died to Dovefluff, she'd at least fight back, and help the clan in her last moments. Glaring at her, again, she made sure that Dovefluff was not going to hurt or threaten a thing.
