"I should be asking you the exact same thing." The scarred grey tom emerged from a patch of ferns to stare at Whispertail. His whiskers twitched as he noticed the tom's attempted catch scuttle away into the undergrowth. "You're awful close to RiverClan territory, huh? What business do you have here?"
At first Goosefury had been merely curious, but suspicion bubbled in his chest and he narrowed his gaze. "For protecting your brother," he echoed. "That's it? I find it hard to believe Twilightstar would exile a cat for trying to defend a family member. You sure there isn't more to that story?"
Oh, wonderful, now this cat wanted to come back to RiverClan with him. If he couldn;'t get the truth out, then Lionstar probably could. And now that his interest was piqued, he couldn't really find a reason to deny Whispertail a chance at getting in. With a shrug, he answered, "You'll have to talk to Lionstar about it, because it isn't my decision to make. I'll take you back to camp and you can talk to him there, but I can't promise you anything." He turned promptly on his heel and started walking without another word.
His paws stopped as a result of pure confusion and he turned around to give Whispertail an incredulous stare. Was this cat dense or something? "I mean, I live there, don't I?" he said. "I'm kind of obligated to like it there. Those cats are like family to me." Well, some of them. Others he wasn't so fond of - his mind flickered briefly to Gentlethunder and Sunpaw - but for the most part he enjoyed his Clanmates. With a quick shake of his head he spun back around and started off to camp. "No more talking until we get to Lionstar."
"alrighty! that sounds fun! you're smart!!" spiderpaw agreed, beginning to go scurry off away to search for some lovely cobwebs. "do you have any idea, like.... how many we should get??" she mumbled, picking through some fallen branches to see if there were any cobweb-looking things. nope. nada. zip. these branches were disappointments to their whole tree. their tree should disown these branches for how sucky they were! oh, wait---they already had, since the branches had fallen. "ha! take that, ya dumb branches!!" she muttered, leaving the branches be as she scoured for some rocks. maybe the rocks would be nicer to her and give her some cobwebs? spiderpaw had always preferred stones over sticks. "you find anything yettttT?? those branches i was looking at earlier, they were so ruDE. they kept breaking whenever i tried to poke em. they also had no cobwebs on them, which was even ruder!! the audacity!"
“I would say four to five marigold and horsethorn? We can get as much cobwebs as we like since they're easy to carry.” Oakflame answered. There were other cats looking for the same stuff in different locations..so even if they didn't manage to collect much themselves , it'd still be a good amount. Watching Spiderpaw scurry off , he would head towards patches off tall , thick grass. Going further into the grass , he hummed. If he was a marigold flower , where would he- ah! Looking around he caught sight of a yellow , clustering flower that was growing on the stems of a small plant. Perfect! Padding towards them , he plucked them off of the stems. Unfortunately there were only two. Ears swiveling once his apprentice called to him , he spoke up. “Two marigold!” He called back , poking his head out from the grass. He would lay the two herbs down in a spot he wouldn't forget them so he could keep looking. “Oh , yes! The nerve of those branches!! They sound so rude.” He laughed , looking over to Spiderpaw. “They should apologize!” He huffed with fake anger. How dare those branches have no cobwebs?

"five? okie dokie!! hmm..... cobwebs might be easy to carry but the real struggle is finding them! they're so snEAKY!!" spiderpaw replied, taking apart a family of rocks. the apprentice barely kept herself from flinching when oakflame called out; she'd been putting all of her concentration into searching for these dumb cobwebs. two marigold?? "good job!!!!" she exclaimed, smiling although he probably couldn't see it from where oakflame was. "that's not fairrr, thoughhh. how come you found two yellow flower thingies already and i can't find anything!!? do you think cobwebs have a certain smell or something that i can use to sniff em out?? ah, good job anyway!!"
spiderpaw laughed, glancing over at her mentor. "i knoww!! it's very disrespectful! don't worry though, i gave them a time-out! that'll teach em!" she responded, stealing a look at the branches they'd been talking about. pffff, she hadn't snapped them in half in her frustration or anything. she would neverrrr. wait.. what was that?? spiderpaw swiftly scurried over behind a mini-boulder, prodding at the rocks hidden behind it. "oooo, cobwebs are so floooffyy," she commented loudly, taking out the single cobweb she'd found carefully. "i found oneeee!! what's that, then? 1 cobweb, 2 yellows??"

When Spiderpaw had spoken up , Oakflame had already disappeared into the tall grass once again. He had to find those flowers! “Congrats on finding a cobweb!! And yes , 1 cobweb and two yellows.” He hummed with a delighted purr. This was relatively easy so far. There were no interruptions and as far as he could tell , no dangers. And he wanted to keep it that way for sure. Dangers were bad!! Very bad. He didn't even know why they existed. Everything would be so much better without them. Much more peaceful. Just as he was thinking , he let out a tell once something sharp jabbed his paw pad. Yanking his paw from the ground , he saw a well hidden pebble. Did it cut me? He wondered , looking at his paw pad. Luckily there was no cut or anything as far as he could see. Frowning at the pebble he would push it to the side. Had it been any sharper I probably wouldn't have a cut. He thought. Now that would be a tragedy.
Craning his neck to get a better look in the small nooks and crannies of everything , he hummed in thought. Where were those darn marigolds? Surely there had to be more over here. “I might...have to look in a different place.” He murmured before deciding their were no more marigolds in the patch of tall grass he had searched. Exiting the grass , he sent furrowed his brows together and looked to both sides of him. Left , right. Up , down. Oh!! Spotting a cluster of plants he hurried over. There has to be some here. He thought , inspecting the plants carefully. Though he didn't think he'd miss any marigolds either way. They were yellow and yellow was a bright color. “Where are they..” He commented to himself. Huh. Only one. A very small one at that. Buuut , it was a marigold either way! Plucking the small flower , he put it with the small , but growing pile of marigold.

The trek to the valley was quiet. By then Brightwhisker could drag himself out of his own misery to cast Harepaw a reassuring smile as he asked how he was doing.
"Ok...We shouldn't have to worry too much on random trouble from Windclan."

The trek to the valley was quiet. By then Brightwhisker could drag himself out of his own misery to cast Harepaw a reassuring smile as he asked how he was doing.
"Ok...We shouldn't have to worry too much on random trouble from Windclan."
Harepaw tried to hide his frown that he felt coming on his face. "I'm more worried about you," he murmured as quietly as he could, then looked across the territory.
(Should harepaw chase the rabbit?)
