He looks around for his third new mentor.

She wasn't going to fail again, she had sworn it. So now she waited in camp whenever patrols were about to be sent out, sometimes an hour before. It was extra, but it worked. Her 7-day exile had been more than enough to terrify her, not including whatever more measures had been placed for those who missed patrols. So she sat alone, alone until the others all swarmed waiting for their tasks.

Today it seemed, that extra effort was necessary. As his name was called, with an extra sentence that made him shudder. A border patrol with the first apprentice-enforcer, and another warrior he hadn't interacted with yet. It would be a good time to get to know them both.

The silver tabby trotted over to Larkpaw with her sad excuse for a tail waving in the air. At first she didn't notice the other warrior's presence as he wasn't moving towards them, but she managed to hear the last part of his words.

"Now I presume, as long as you two are ready?" He'd allow for some time for responses before heading out of camp. Walking slow to make sure Larkpaw was able to take the lead. He definitely didn't need problems from him taking over a patrol, especially from an enforcer.

Flamecall’s ears flicked up as their named was called along with Ruepaw’s. They smiled, this was good. Flamecall would get to meet their apprentice fully and get some hunting in, win-win.
Flamecall padded up to the apprentice who they could only guess was Ruepaw (Who, also, sighed. Flamecall hoped it wasn’t because of them.) and waved a tail in greeting.
“Hello, Ruepaw,” They began amiably, looking their new apprentice up and down, “I’m Flamecall, your mentor, nice to meet you. I’m sorry we didn’t get to officially meet during the clan meeting in which you were assigned to me.”
Flamecall finished looking their apprentice over with a satisfied “hmf” before they spoke again,
“I assume you know how to hunt already?” They asked, wondering how much they’d have to teach this fuzzball.

Ah, so these cats had backbone. Larkpaw was very glad she wasn't assigned to two idiots, as these ones seemed to have sense, showing up to Vixensnarl's patrol calls. Glancing briefly at Silverwing as the tom asked a very ridiculous question, the former loner didn't stop herself from answering anyway. Because after all, Lynxblossom had shown up right on time. "Right now." She told Silverwing, striding past the pair and making a beeline for camp's entrance without waiting, or even pausing to see if they were following her. They should be smart enough to know what to do. After all, they were warriors and she merely an apprentice. Well, she was an apprentice with slightly more privileges.

**Branchfire**

The brown tri-color tom slipped out of the warrior's den, trying to fluff his fur up against the chill of the impeding leafbare. His fur never grew long and didn't seem to thicken enough during the colder moons. The weight he'd lost during his near-fatal battle with greencough was adding an extra uncontrollable shiver coursing through him but he worked vainly to stave it off as Vixensnarl's voice called his name out. A hunting patrol with Starlingpaw. As he padded across the clearing, his yellow eyes casually looking over the camp for the tall dark apprentice, he considered what he knew of Starlingpaw. It wasn't much, other than being Lynxblossom's apprentice, but if he wanted an apprentice of his own he'd need to be able to keep track of more of his clanmates. Getting to know cats and remembering details was never a difficult task for Branchfire, having a natural keenness for getting to know others and his feeling of ease around cats both known and just met. But Starlingpaw, he couldn't recall ever having an interaction with the apprentice, and he was sure he'd remember if he had. He sat down away from the patrol place, his tail wrapping tightly around his paws as he waited for his patrolmate to show up.

Starlingpaw was still adjusting to being an apprentice, although it wasn't really that different to being a kit. There was something that they wanted to ask of Dawnstar, concerning the new kit curriculum, but that was a question for another time as they heard their name being called by.. Vixensnarl? Oh stars, patrols! The tall black cat swiftly made their way over to where the molly was calling out patrols, dipping their head apologetically to the enforcer.

They noticed their mentor was assigned to a different patrol, but that seemed pretty normal, they gave Lynxblossom a little nod in greetings before going to find their patrol mate. They hadn't spoken to Branchfire before, but they were pretty sure they knew what he looked like, they looked around the crowd of cats getting ready for their own patrols before spotting the tom. They recalled spotting them at their apprentice ceremony while searching for Nightlight, and it seemed like he knew who they were. As they approached they gave Branchfire a little smile, "Should we head off then?".

Shadowfur listened to Vixensnarl call out patrols from his spot just outside the warriors’ den. When he was assigned to lead a patrol to the RiverClan border, he began to pad forward. Annoyance flashed through him as Vulturefang was assigned to go with him. Great. When would he be free from this annoying furball?

He kept hoping the tom would shape up, but he had yet to. The black tom silently prayed that he would at least behave on patrol. Fortunately, both Foxpaw and Vulturefang were ready to go as soon as he approached. “Alright,” he said, shaking his pelt out. “Let’s get a move on.”

The Enforcer spun around in a tight circle and stalked toward the camp entrance.

Trotting over to Vixensnarl, Dappledleaf dipped her head to the Enforcer. "Hunting's all done on my end! Stoneflight showed up, and is out hunting still. My prey has been added to the pile!" After she finished reporting her patrol, Dappledleaf sat and waited for an answer.

As part of his duty as an Enforcer, Shadowfur decided to take out one hunting patrol a quarter moon. On top of Vixensnarl sending out patrols, this should help keep the prey pile full. None of ShadowClan’s deputies under Dawnstar had demonstrated an ability to keep the prey pile packed for the duration of their deputyship. Shadowfur hoped the next choice would do better.

Shaking his fur out against the chilly air, he called to the two cats he’d chosen for his hunting patrol. “Slatefur and Wolfwhisper! Come join me for a hunting patrol.”
