Blossomclaw glanced up irritatedly. She was finally getting to sleep and now these two bickering brats were fusisng. "Can you two please shut your yaps, people tryna sleep here," she mumbled, covering her ears with her paws. Wrapping her fluffy tail around her, she hoped they would settle their petty fight and just fo to sleep. It was too late for this and her eyelids felt like weights against her face. Starting to drift off again, she glance around once more before curling up into a tight ball.

Sunsnow yawned and blinked his eyes as daylight poured in through the many holes in the den. Then he remembered: I can't believe I fell asleep! I was supposed to be watching Buckbranch! He looked around, terrified, and was appeased when he saw Buckbranch's snoring body. "Wake up, Buttercup, it's time for the hunting patrol!", he said, prodding the other tom with his nose. "If we don't go, not only will we have Flintstar at our throats, but he'll definitely rip out yours, fox-heart!" He paused to look around the den for the other cats who were going on hunting patrol with them. Where were they?

The tortoiseshell woke with a start. He'd been having scattered dreams, nightmares really, about a giant mountain collapsing around him. He shook his head to clear the already fading remnants. No use trapping something like that in his mind.

Buckbranch stood and stretched, already feeling a pick of irritation that Sunsnow was still using the same stupid nickname. And fox-heart wasn't exactly an improvement. Heartless imbeciles, he muttered to himself. "Right, right, the all-important history lesson-slash-hunting-excursion-threatening-prisoner-transport. How could I forget?" He swatted Sunsnow's paw away, cursing himself for dozing off.

Not far behind Adderfrost was Mountaingrowl, his large frame blocking the majority of the den entrance as he narrowed his eyes at the smaller tom. "Flintstar," his voice was gruff as he spoke, "I would also like to speak with you. About that kit-warrior."

Adderfrost looked at Mountaingrowl as he walked in. "That kit-warrior needs to learn his place." He turned to Flintstar apologetically. "He needs to learn true loyalty. If he is willing to rat us out in exchange for our own safety, he needs to be watched." His tail swished on the den floor. He wasn't as big as Mountaingrowl, in fact, he was much much smaller. But that didn't stop him from being loyal and helpful to his clan. "But Flintstar, if I may, I wanted to volunteer to lead a patrol to scout for the territory we are going to take. If you don't mind that is."

Sunsnow rolled his eyes. "Hey, it's not my fault that you were mousebrained enough to threaten our leader! Besides, we really do have to get going. It's late- nearly sunhigh!" There was a flicker of worry in his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by full-on frustration. "Come on, lazybones! You remind me of an elder." He began to pad out of the warriors den and into the clearing. "Mountaingrowl? Hello?"

"I have Sunsnow watching him at the moment, but this is an issue that training won't solve. The coward isn't going to change his mind because we tell him to. The second he gets the chance, he'll likely go running for the other Clans to tell them about our desire to steal territory.

And frankly, we can't afford that. We also can't spend the next moon kitsitting this overgrown rat. I think this is a matter we should bring a permanent end to, so he can't endanger our Clan in the slightest and our warriors aren't held up on watching him."

Though he spoke to both, he kept his eyes on Flintstar to gauge his reaction.

Sunsnow padded out into the camp from the warriors den, the wind catching his fur and giving him a slight chill. He shivered as he looked back into the den. "Come on, Buttercup, let's go! You have stalled long enough. It's time to go." He pause. "And Mountaingrowl will not be participating, so I will be taking the role of patrol leader." As he said this, the orange tom was walking over to the fresh-kill pile. He neatly dug through it ans picked out a small mouse-just to tide him over. Sunsnow began eating as he waited for 'Buttercup' to join him. utter cup and the other cat he couldn't remember, that is...

Blossomclaw yawned and got up to stetch. Oh shoot, she had slept in! Quickly grooming her fur, she headed out to the clearing, hoping to have time to check on the kits before the patrol left.

Blossomclaw bounded out the warriors den tiredly, hoping the patrol hadn't already left. Noticing the cats from the meeting were still there, she sighed in relief and trotted over to the fresh-kill pile to grab a snack before they left.

With a harsh mutter Buckbranch followed him out. "Still with that nickname, I see," he said in a clipped voice. "Always the charmer, Sunsnow." another growl threatened to rise from his chest as he shoved past the orange warrior and hooked a plump-looking thrush out of the pile. He jumped back with a startled hiss as a maggot wormed its way over his paws and kicked the rotting prey away. "Well, we better get going, then," he meowed. "I'm not sure how long this prey is going to last." The tortoiseshell began walking away from the fresh-kill toward the camp entrance, neither looking over his shoulder at Sunsnow nor around him, where he knew cats were glaring at him from their dens. Unconciously he lifted his chin.
