Re: Lionsbeach
~Moonfrost~
The dark she-cat nodded to the tom, looking around. She noticed small, peculiar shells dotting the sand as they progressed further along the beach.
These seem... Different.
Padding up to one, she carefully pulled it from the sand and gave it a sniff. Turning her bright blue gaze back to her patrol partner, she tilted her head, trying to signal that she wanted to know what he thought.
Most cats forget that I can't speak... I wonder if he knows?
Moonfrost mused to herself as she waited for him to respond.

Re: Lionsbeach
~Moonfrost~
After waiting for a while, Moonfrost's attention was diverted by movement out of the corner of her eye. Somehow, in leafbare, perhaps to escape the cold water, a crab had started crawling its way up the beach. Looking at the water, she could see the tide was moving out.
Well that's convenient.
She quickly padded over to the crab. It wasn't large, but it was something. She smacked it a few times with her paw to daze it, then picked it up in her jaws, giving it a squeeze until the hard shell cracked and the crustacean stopped moving.
Well, I guess its better than nothing.
She turned back to where she had left the shell and her patrol partner. Carefully she picked up the small shell in her teeth and nodded to Dustymoth, then waved her tail to signal they needed to return.
Stars I hope he understands me...
Heading up the sand, she turned back towards camp.

Re: Lionsbeach
Dustymoth
Truth be told, the large warrior had already forgotten why they were out here. There was not a single thought behind his eyes aside from the way the wind was twirling with the sand on Lionsbeach. It was so... pretty. How could he not be distracted? Lips stretched in a wide grin he let out a surprised 'mrrow!' as the soil changed to sand beneath his paws. "We're at Lionsbeach!" A bit obvious, but it wasn't like Dustymoth had a single care. Just like a kit fresh out of the nursery he began to gallivant across the shoreline, kicking up sand behind him with every leap.
Oh! Hunting, right. Pausing his gleeful skipping the warrior swiped a tongue out to taste the air, taking note of any prey nearby. There wasn't much, given that it was leaf-bare, but near the sore he did spot a... what was that? It was sort of sparkly looking, and weird and... It moved! Dustymoth gave a startled yelp as what he thought was a shell he'd been approaching suddenly got up and scuttled away. What was that? "Since when do shells have legs???" he cried, taking a breath before trying to stop it with his front paws. To no avail of course, as the tiny creature turned to reach back with one of its weird looking claws and pinch Dustymoth's paw.
"Ouch!" Holding his injured paw off the ground, the large warrior looked crestfallen as the creature continued to hurry away. Well, there went that catch, whatever it was. Some sort of shell crab? Turning away from his failure, the RiverClan warrior limped back over to where Moonfrost was, noticing she had picked up a grab. "Oh, dang it! Well, at least you got a catch."
Now he needed to, and just as if StarClan had been listening Dustymoth noticed a small seagull off in the distance. He froze, as though the bird could hear them from all the way down the shoreline. But it was busy tugging at some sort of object, so Dustymoth took that as a sign to stalk closer towards it. Inching in, making sure his crouch remained low... and then finally he pounced! Claws outstretched they landed on the back of the seagull, flinching as the bird let out a loud squawk. "Woah!" Hanging on, the tom hauled himself forward and ignored the flap of the wings that buffeted his face as he latched his teeth into its neck.
After a moment, the wings finally stopped and the bird fell limp in his jaws. It wasn't big by any means, but it was a catch. Now, with the seagull clamped in his jaws and his paw on fire with droplets of blood welling up at the pinch from the creature's claw, Dustymoth turned back to limp behind Moonfrost. Hopefully Snakeheart would forgive his clumsiness - that creature had been terrifying!
[ @RiztheHuntress i apologize profusely for the delay! ]

Re: Lionsbeach
~Moonfrost~
Hearing Dustymoth's movements, she turned back to watch as her patrol partner stalked a seagull. She shuffled her paws in the sand with excitement, glad that the soft ground hid most noises. She started forward when she saw the bird flap its wings, but quickly saw there was no need as Dustymoth felled the bird with a bite to the neck.
What a catch!
Moonfrost bounced up to the tom, tail lashing excitedly. She was proud of the cat, but her expression quickly changed to concern as she noticed his limp. Carefully setting down her crab and shell, she sniffed at Dustymoth's paw, then tilted her head in concern.
Are you okay? The shell-crab pinched you pretty well...
The dark tabby sniffed at his paw again, then prodded it with her own to prompt the tom to lift it and let her see.

Re: Lionsbeach
@ iris
Twilightshimmer skipped along the shore looking for shells. Maybe one of them would be magical and turn her into a mercat. At 14 moons old, some might consider the warrior too old for magic but Twilightshimmer was determined to prove she was special.
She hadn't had much luck finding whole shells so far. As she looked around meticulously she spotted a cat in the distance. She smiled and decided to approach. Upon closer inspection she discovered it was Hazelstorm, a cat shed never really spoken to, but she could always try.
"Omgosh Helooooooo, Hazelstorm! What are u doing? Anyway, if yo need halp hunting I can do it for u I'm the best hunter in the clan. Its becauseI have I have the best hearing ever and I can magically see through leaves if they're transparent enough. " she declared, trying to be helpful.

Re: Lionsbeach
Lionsbeach was certainly a pleasant place to be when you really just wanted to be alone, putting yourself back into one peace. It wasn't great though when some idiot interrupted you.
She padded along the shoreside, admiring the shells embedded in the sand. They were quite pretty, and wet with recent waves, as gulls squawked above. The noise had gone from amusing to annoying to maddening - the tabby ahd been here for, say, thirty minutes? Approximately? Then Hazelstorm turned her head around so fast she might've cricked her neck, at the sound of bouncing pawsteps, growing louder and louder. It seemed to be... approaching her! Of all things! Her fur bristled up, in slight irritation, as this young warrior approached her. Youth, no respect. Oh, that really sounded like something an elder would say. maybe she really should retire to an elder early for... some reason. As the tabby eyed the she-cat in front of her up and down, grouchily, she recognised her as Twilightshimmer. Despite never having interacted with her, the brown warrior got the impression that she was silly. And incredibly, immensely stupid. Stars, she hated those kinds of cats.
Hazelstorm suppressed a sigh, and rolled her eyes quite visibly, not caring if Twilightshimmer noticed at the she-cat's accent. The tabby wouldn't doubt it if StarClan told her that her first impression of Twilight had indeed been correct.
"Yeah, sure, you totally are," she said sarcastically, but also grumpily. Annoyance was expressed clearly in her green eyes as she continued. "Must be great being able to see through leaves. As though I believe you." She scoffed at the idea, staring at the younger warrior.

Twilightshimmer didn't quite catch the sarcasm or simply didn't care. She continued in her pursuit of getting attention.
"I'm looking for shells and you can hav some I'd you want omg I should giv some to Kestrelstar becuz he's totally gon make me deputy when Sparrowpelt dies and he needs shells becuz he's saaaad." she explained, waiting for approval.

Re: Lionsbeach
The way Twilightshimmer talked was very amusing for Hazelstorm. She flicked her bushy tail, managing to not smile.
"Yeah, sure," she replied, so she didn't come off as rude. Privately, the tabby thught that as soon as she got the shells, she was going to throw 'em into the sea at the same shore where she'd gotten them. Hazelstorm didn't mention this though. "Don't see how shells ae going to make... Kestrelstar feel better, buuuut sure.!"

Twilightshimmer wasn't even listening anymore. Job well done, this cat was clearly impressed and that frustrated her so she moved onto the shells. She poked at a pink one, convinced that it was definitely going to turn her into a mercat, and then began wading slightly into the sea. Shouldn't she transform by now?

Re: Lionsbeach
**Doeheart** @ Angelique
Doeheart smiled at the other warrior and left camp. She made a mental note that his name was Trout leaf. It struck her as a strange mistake to have been made. She shrugged at her own thoughts and trotted through the territory to Lionsbeach. The rocky, sandy shore spread our before her and she slowed to take it in. The waves were crashing against the shore noisily, the powerful sight made her pelt prickle slightly. She shook out her fur and began again, dropping down into the large rocks.
She quickly spotted a seagull perched on the point of a sharp rock. She looked back at Troutleaf and flicked her tail. "Go around the back side," She whispered, "I'll scare off towards you and you can grab it." Leaping directly at the gull seemed like too large a risk of ending up on the point of that rock it was perched on.
