"I'm ready," the apprentince says with a purr. Midnightpaw then crouched down into a hunting position showing Embercloud what she had already learned. They looked over at a leaf nearby and slowly approached it, their paws silently hitting the ground and once close enough, Midnightpaw unsheathed their claws, and pounced on the leaf, crushing it beneath their paws. They looked up at their mentor with excitment.

Embercloud purred and nodded, watching them as they practiced their stance and pounced on the leaf. "Very good! Have you been able to practice that on catching prey?" She asked tilting her head to the side slightly. It was an honest question, if not she'd see about taking Midnightpaw out hunting to put those skills to practical use. Toss in a stealth lesson too while they were out.
Brokenkit tilted his head when Iciclekit went on to copy Skullkit's voice as well. That was weird. Why was he coping people's voices. Not to mention he would stay silent or barely talk. Very concerning! "Why do you speak so little? You also copy peoples voices? Why do you do that?"
Speaking of that, Skullkit started to be mean to Iciclekit. "Hey! Stop that! We should include him as well." He said, defending Iciclekit.

… Okay ugh. This was getting frustrating. Icepaw didn’t like how her fur felt on her. She didn’t like how ANYTHING felt at this point. She violently spun and flipped herself, eyes narrowing and a frown growing on her face. Ew ew ew. She was mildly confused before, and now she’s extremely annoyed and uncomfortable. Is this what happened to cats that became apprentices? She should probably actually start sleeping in the nest provided for her in the Apprentices’ Den instead of sleeping outside like she’d done for the pass moon or two.
… And it did not help that a random apprentice decided to announce to the whole Clan that she was arriving. Icepaw lifted her head from her paws and stared at the approaching apprentice, gaze shifting from her left side to her right, and to her left again, and to her right, over and over again, unsure of what part of her to even look at. She looked like she’d been split in half, or rather, taken someone else’s half and attached it to her own body. Icepaw kind of hated herself for even coming up with that theory, but she couldn’t help it. This was one cat, right? And not just some nightmarish villain who skins cats alive and wears their pelt? Well, she sure did seem like the type to…
Icepaw tilted her head at the split cat’s words, which were… Way too loud for her liking. Do some cats not know how to lower their voices??? And what does she mean by shimmying?? Oh. Does she mean her CONSTANT DISCOMFORT???? Ah well, she couldn’t be mad. This villain cat probably doesn’t know that. So she just resorted to staring into her eyes. Oooh. Her eyes were like the colour of… Of…. Dirt. Yeah. Interesting. And errr… Wood. And Dawnstar’s fur. Cool, cool. She could associate many things with this creepy cat’s eyes. She briefly looked down at the apprentice’s paws, then at her own, and back at her dirt-coloured eyes.

"One man falls, another takes his place, he chases the wind until the end of his days."
Andddd, now this cat was starring. Fun! Magpiepaw didn't mind being admired, infact she loved allll the attention she was given, so she stared right back. Haha! Take that! They were now blessed with the gaze of Magpiepaw the Great! And since the newly appointed apprentice had yet to speak, Magpiepaw had no idea what her personality was like. Plus, she was insanely bad at picking up on social ques or facial expressions, so the poor little menace was truly wracking her brain here as she attempted to shape herself into a cat this stranger might like.
Of course, the clump of fur akin to a sheeps wool kept on spinning and swirling in place. Jeez, jumpy much? Pick a darn pose, it was kinda hard to make eye contact when one is SPINNING LIKE AN ANT THAT GOT ITS HIDE SMASHED OFF.
And, it seemed that they themselves were having trouble keeping eye contact. Magpiepaw watched with mild amusement as minty eyes darted from the left to the right side of her face. Haha, what she wouldn't give to read their mind at that very moment. Her pink tongue flicked out of her mouth, blepping for a moment before she drew her tongue along her nose. "Eh, you're pretty weird aren't you. I like your eyes," she tilted her head. They were pretty, she couldn't deny that, but everycat tended to have pretty eyes or features, a gift from Starclan themselves. But, nocats eyes compared to that of Spiderthorn's, her--- AHEM, her verygoodfriend.
His eyes.... Stars above, they looked like a richly painted sky with streaks of deep lavender and royal blue. Magpiepaw had yet to realize she was drifting, so she jolted herself upwards, more than slightly embarrassed. But she knew how to fix that! MORE YELLING!!
"Yeah, your eyes are GREAT and all but, you OBVIOUSLY have some staying-still problems, don't you?" She smiled wickedly, long canines glinting. "At least it makes you harder to tackle--- THINK FAST!" Without another word, Magpiepaw sprang forward, aiming for the smaller cats shoulders. She wasn't going to hurt her, Magpiepaw was mentally challenged but no monster. She was just certain that a good spar would ASSERT HER DOMINANCE!

· · ────────────── · · "You're tellin' me, pal." A voice piped up nearby, its source a pretty young feline with dark tabby fur and amber eyes. She sat in the shadows of one of the large cedars, perched on a low-hanging branch. Her eyes glinted in the dim light, tail swishing below her. "One of the problems living in the swamp... you always end up wet." Birdecho's thoughts flashed to her mother, who had supposedly drowned in Darkwater Mire. The new warrior hummed, staring down at Blackberrywhisper with an unnerving gaze.

Squirrels, eh? That tracked. Briarsplash didn't think she was the type to care about what specific prey each cat fancied, but for some reason, that bit of information was interesting to her. Maybe just because this fluffy orange tabby already didn't seem like a stereotypical 'ShadowClanner', so just hearing him confirm it with his tastes made a slight snort of amusement leave the she-cat. She gave Hillstrider a flick of her tail in acknowledgement as he mentioned not to say a word.
"ThunderClan tastes, eh...? Yeah, we'd better not let that get out — don't want you lookin' any more like the tree rats," Briar remarked in her dry, raspy mew, although the twitch of her whiskers betrayed the subtle humor laced in the statement.
And about frogs? Briarsplash was just about to say something when Hillstrider made the remark about the 'party in his stomach' and the swamp water freezing... it was ridiculous, and yet tickled something in her head. And for the first time in a long time (or maybe ever), Briarsplash let out a genuine laugh.
A small and short one, sure. But it wasn't just a chuckle or another one of those little noises someone might casually make like a puff of air through a nose — it was an actual laugh. And the moment it escaped her, her eyes almost widened as if in shock. Ew. She didn't really know she could sound like that. Quickly clearing her throat to recover, the she-cat straightened up, licking her chops clean from the scraps of mouse that may have lingered on her muzzle — and expertly pretending that lighthearted sound had never happened.
"Solid swamp water..." Briarsplash echoed in a gruff mumble, unable to completely hide the amused smirk tugging on her maw nor the faint chuckle behind her tone. "That... might just be the best way I've heard it described." Being a previous outsider and having lived outside of ShadowClan territory, the Enforcer had never tried a frog nor toad until living with the Clan. And even now, she steered to avoid them unless it's the last prey possible when she's hungry. She shuddered as she added,
"Guess I'm with ya on that one. Snakes, too... can't get behind that gamy texture. Ick."

Hillstrider hadn't really expected the sour-faced Briarsplash to actually laugh at his joke--no one ever did--so the bark of laughter that escaped her earned a surprised (and completely ecstatic) look from the orange tabby. His chest warmed, a feeling he hadn't felt since... Oh, since Mossfreckle had first invited him to share a nest for a night.
Then she was complimenting his choice of words in describing frogs, earning another jovial smile from him. "Thank you, thank you. I'm here all night." Hillstrider rolled over onto his back, taking another long stretch and exposing his belly to the sky. "And ugh, snakes. Not enough meat, too many scales. No thanks, my dude." With the mouse eaten and conversation shared, Hillstrider finished his stretch before pushing himself to his paws and shaking the dust from his coat. "Thanks for sharing with me, Briardude. We should do this again some time." Where was he going, you ask? Why, to take a nap of course!
[I figure we wrap this up here so we can start them trading prey they caught on patrol? :3]
The tom's tail flicked he'd never heard someone let alone a she agree with him, "Nice to meet someone who finally agrees with me." His gaze met hers, "I can't imagine the weather this year, we probably won't be able to find any fresh kill this year."His tail flicked again.
