Rainpaw noticed Berrypaw and almost rose to her paws right away, but the meeting hadn't been dismissed yet. But...she wanted Berrypaw to know she'd help her. Glancing around, Rainpaw carefully slinked over to where Berrypaw was by Weepingpaw, stopping at a respectful [and safe] distance. She dipped her head to Berrypaw and offered a warm, friendly smile. "P-Please let me know if you ever need any help, okay?" She murmured, sincerity glowing in her eyes.
She had taken a mental vow to help Berrypaw and she meant it. Ever since her first screw up taking herbs from the medicine den without talking to Mistyshard first, she wanted to make things up to the clan's healers. Well...healer for now she supposed. More than that, she wanted to offer her support and friendship to Berrypaw. She couldn't imagine what she could be experiencing right now, and she wanted Berrypaw to know she had at least more friend than maybe she was aware of before.
Ravenpaw flinched slightly when her mentor startled. She hadn't meant for that result! But Redmire relaxed and Ravenpaw felt that was a good result at least. She nodded at Redmire's words. "Good." She meowed in response, a little bit of a playfully snappy tone and a mischievous glint in her eye. She hoped it wasn't too obvious she was trying to distract Redmire from whatever negative thing she was going through.
Berrypaw's ears pointed up a bit in surprise when another apprentice padded over with a friendly face and a nice, soft voice. It even seemed that she was making an effort to maintain a respectful distance and show thoughtful sincerity.
It took the medicine cat apprentice a moment to register all of that before her tensed shoulders relaxed. A faint, weak smile appeared on her maw as she listened to Rainpaw's generous offer to help, her chest feeling a spark of warmth and comfort from it.
"O-Oh, t-that's very kind... thank you," she murmured gently, giving Rainpaw another smile and light nod. "I... I-I really appreciate it..."

At Weepingpaw's words, she turned her head to him, a slight, weary chuckle leaving her as he mentioned Daisykit and her 'blabbing'. She appreciated the comforting, humorous words and the nice gesture of his tail running along her side. She knew he wouldn't be able to see it, but she gave him a slight smile as well.
"Heh, thanks, Weepingpaw... y-yeah, I'll be glad to have you two around. Maybe I'll try teaching Daisy a thing or two," she mused lightheartedly, the slight distraction enough to make her tone higher.
And yet Fadingstar's next words brought on the anxiety all over again — she understood quite well that Mistyshard's resignation wasn't to be spread, but oh stars... that meant that the nervous apprentice would have to avoid giving it away. And she was a pretty bad liar.
No, no, she could do this... she didn't necessarily need to lie, just to avoid the truth, right? Berrypaw swallowed a bit and nodded, appreciating that Fadingstar already offered an excuse to say. She memorized it in her head, making sure that it would be in her mind so that she wouldn't slip up and say the wrong things at the Gathering. She rose to her paws, gently guiding Weepingpaw over to the healing area so she could try to see what was up with that nasty cough before she lost her head in the clouds again.
Just breathe, Berry... one day at a time, yeah?

Her paws shifted on the ground nervously. She had never asked another cat to be friends before, and she wasn't sure how to go about it. Ravenpaw was always the more confident one... She mused, wondering if maybe she should've gotten input from her sister on this first.

Weepingpaw kept his tail against her side, soothingly and in a brotherly way to help her not be anxious... well attempt to at least. He gave a cough and purred raspily, "Daisykit is a talker, i'm sure she'll listen just as well." Weepingpaw snorted, amusment in his tone.

Berrypaw's eyes widened a bit in pleasant surprise, a little purr leaving her throat. "F-Friends, huh...?" She echoed, ducking her head a bit shyly. She'd never had many friends, especially as a kit and younger apprentice. She smiled a bit and nodded, her chest feeling a bit warm at the prospect.
"Heh, y-yeah... I'd like that," she mewed earnestly, giving Rainpaw a grateful nod.

Berry appreciated Weepingpaw's tail on her side, needing just about all the comfort she could get with the tirade of emotions following Mistyshard's resignation. She let out a weary but amused purr and and huffed in agreement. "Oh, yes... if those ears are as good as her mouth, I'm sure she'll listen just fine!"

Rainpaw was relieved, purring loudly in her joy. "I'm so glad!" She purred, touching her nose to Berrypaw's. "Want to share some prey later?" She asked with a smile. Feeling much more confident now that Berrypaw seemed just as happy and nervous as she had been!
Spiraltail listened intently as Fadingstar addressed the gathering, feeling a mix of anxiety and concern. The sight of Weepingpaw’s coughing fit was unsettling, and Spiraltail couldn’t help but worry about the young apprentice’s health. When Fadingstar instructed Weepingpaw to head to the healing area and asked Berrypaw to check on them, Spiraltail noted the urgency in his leader’s voice.
The leader’s subsequent words about Ashensplash and the threat she posed sent a shiver down Spiraltail’s spine. The idea of a traitor within their ranks, someone who had tried to kill Fadingstar, was deeply troubling. He felt a surge of determination to keep his Clan safe and wondered how they could possibly root out the remaining dangers lurking in their midst. The increased security measures, including Lionhearts stationed outside the nursery and medicine den, seemed like a necessary step but also highlighted the gravity of the situation.
When Fadingstar addressed Mistyshard’s resignation, Spiraltail felt a pang of sympathy. He hadn’t seen much of her lately and was surprised by the news of her stepping down. The leader’s decision to allow her to stay as a queen until her kits were apprenticed, and then return to warrior duties under strict conditions, was met with mixed emotions. Spiraltail understood the need for accountability but also felt a twinge of empathy for Mistyshard, knowing that she had struggled in her role.
Fadingstar’s emphasis on Berrypaw’s current position and the need for a replacement medicine cat was also noteworthy. Spiraltail admired Berrypaw’s dedication but recognized the challenges she faced being so young and inexperienced. The rules about not healing without her permission and prioritizing warrior duties were clear, and Spiraltail made a mental note to respect those guidelines.
The leader’s final remarks about mistreatment of Berrypaw were particularly striking. Spiraltail felt a surge of protectiveness towards the young healer, realizing how much pressure she was under. The strong warning against placing blame on Berrypaw or harassing her underscored the importance of unity and support within the Clan. Spiraltail resolved to be vigilant, to support his fellow Clanmates, and to stay alert for any signs of further conflict or treachery.
