Quailpaw's eyes widened. A new mentor? Mingled emotions rioted in his chest though his face remained stony. This meant that Blackforest- and whatever good memories he'd had with him- was really, finally gone. It also meant opening up to a new cat. A moon ago, he would have stood up and argued with the decision then and there. He didn't need a mentor. He didn't need anyone.

But maybe this, too, could change now.

His eyes drifted over to Brokenbadger. He'd never taken the time to talk to them before. He supposed he would soon enough. He knew he should probably go and introduce himself, but it seemed as if his paws were stones, weighing him to the spot. Mousebrain. Just go.

But he couldn't- he couldn't quite- he wasn't ready, this wasn't what- what he'd come back for, he couldn't...

Breathe.

He lowered his eyes to the ground. Of course he would go and talk to Brokenbadger. Just... after. When he'd had time to accustom himself to the idea.

Brokenbadger heard his name to become a mentor and he looked around. Why in starclan did she give him of all catd an apprentice. He looked at her then began to look for Quailpaw. They better not fail him or he'd be even more pissed. The black tabby tom locked eyes with Quailpaw, walking up to them. He did not look happy at all, but he would never argue with his leader.

"So your my apprentice? Once the meetings over I want to know all taht you know. Meet me at the training area after qnd don't make me wait. I hate waiting.", he meowed with a low growl.

Brokenbadger sat down beside them and looked up at Dawnstar to get further instructions. He did want to go with her to take care of the dogs. If mkre cats were needed he'd be there.

Embershadow yawned, letting his attention drift away from the meeting. Nothing important, just boring stuff about apprentices. He glanced back up at Dawnstar in surprise as he heard his name mentioned. For a moment, he wondered if someone had heard his conversation with Wolfwhisper and had reported him. Then, realized that he had just been given an apprentice.

He frowned. Great. Embershadow had no patience to train a cat. They had no attention span and all thought they were the greatest warriors before they were six moons old. Then, he paused. This could be a golden opportunity to try and gain another supporter. He wouldn't have any better time then this to convince a cat that Dawnstar wasn't the greatest leader to ever walk the Clans and that she needed to be stopped before she completely destroyed ShadowClan.

Embershadow slowly got to his feet. "I'll do my best," he promised. In more ways than you think, he added silently, stalking over to Crowpaw.

The dark-furred molly couldn't but smile slightly, her excitement slipping as she was given her name. At the mention of a mentor though...

Turning to face the tom as he approached her, the small smile faded off her face, he looked anything but happy to be training the apprentice. Nodding at his words, she debated momentarily at replying, casting a glance down at her paws before she heard Dawnstar continuing the meeting. Giving Embershadow another side-eye glance (Was that worry shimmering in her eyes?), she quickly pushed past the tom, returning to the crowd without a second word. Well this would be an intresting experience to say the least.

Embershadow hesitated, waiting for the meeting to be over. He shrugged. He could sit by Crowpaw and wait for any other announcements Dawnstar had to offer. He was sure the dark she-cat had something else to say. Nodding in what he hoped was a friendly gesture, he sat down beside her and turned to face the Shadowledge. "After this thing is over, I'll give you a tour of the territory," he muttered out of the corner of his mouth.

He was somewhat glad that Crowpaw wasn't one of those cats that passed out because they were so excited. He wasn't sure he could handle one of those cats.

Frostpaw's ears pricked. A new mentor? He realized he hadn't seen Aspenshadow around in a couple of days and she hadn't taken him out for training yet, so getting a new mentor was a good thing. He was worried he was falling behind. Frostpaw was grateful that that StarClan she-cat, Leaftail, he thought her name was, had begun to train him in his dreams.

He realized that he actually know who Toadstripe was. Maybe if he just sat there, then the warrior would just find him. Besides, the meeting was still going on.

wolfwhisper blinked in surprise, he had an APPRENTICE! this was such a sudden responsibility. he barely knew what he was doing. now he was dictating an younglin's future. this was so awesome. screw the dogs, screw all the very scary things in his life -- wolfwhisper was going to be the best mentor ever.

the tom hopped right up to his paws, approaching rookpaw -- what a cool name --! "hello!" he meowed, leaning forward to gently bump noses with his new cool apprentice!

"it's very nice to properly meet you rookpaw! when the meeting is over, do you want to checkk out the territory? or we could like, do our first training session or somethin!" wolfwhisper introduced himself, a goofy grin on his face.

Rookpaw? But she liked her name! But the leader had assigned it and that was that. She booped noses with her new mentor. She was still shaking with various emotions. Wait, was he asking her what she wanted to do? Wasn't he just supposed to just order her around?
"Well..Um, yea, sure. I actually do wanna see the territory. Heh, maybe, If you think I'm ready, I could learn how to hunt?" she said. She did not like enforcing her will over authority figures. It was always awkward. The last thing she wanted was to sound insolent.

A small frown appeared on the felines face. Another apprentice to train? Great. Sighing, they got up and padded off, trying to look for this apprentice. Lightningeyes wasn't exactly in the greatest mood to be training a younger..more immature kit.
