Mallowswarm had been grooming herself, but she raised her head as Mudhound's call echoed through camp. They were taking ThunderClan to the new piece of territory, the cave that they and Wolfhive had found back when the latter was alive. Thunderbird Cavern. Bumblebreak had told the clan about it, in the meeting before the first otter patrol had gone out (stars, that felt like so long ago- what had it been, two moons? Less?), but the expedition that had been promised had been delayed by everything that had happened since then. It seemed like Mudhound was fixing that.

She hadn't expected the Hornet to seem so excited about the trip. She had expected it to be more solemn, considering the landmark's connection to Wolfhive, but then, from what she knew of Mudhound they tended to be a cheerful cat. She had witnessed a different side of them when her mentor passed, but it seemed they had moved on, or at least they weren't wallowing in the grief. Although what did she know? Some cats were incredibly good at masking their emotions, a skill Mallowswarm had never managed to learn.

She gave her fur a few last licks to smooth it down and stood up to join the slowly gathering crowd. As she waited, her gaze caught on an apprentice, eyes locked on Alpinemoon as her chest heaved. Mallowswarm was no expert at reading emotions, but she could see the distress on the younger cat's face. For a few moments she hesitated- she didn't know how to help cats, to comfort them, she was useless when it came to this- but then the thought of her mentor came to mind. One of the many things she had admired about Wolfhive was his ability to comfort others, the way he always noticed if an apprentice was struggling and helped them. She wanted to follow in his pawsteps, didn't she? Mallowswarm swallowed, steeling herself, before walking over to the apprentice. "Uh, hi," she started, shifting uncomfortably from paw to paw. What was she supposed to say? "Uh, I couldn't help noticing- um, are you okay?"

The Bengal would slink from the darkness of the Medicine Cat Den. Her fur was rather ruffled, for what reason? No one would really know. Even Treetiger wasn't sure. It was hard to know what was going on in that den these days, allowing cats to come and go as they pleased and apparently letting Mudhound take herbs and break the typical traditions of grounding all the injured.

Instead, Treetiger stood idly near Mudhound, ready to step in and catch them if they stumbled. Them or the duo that they INSISTED on bringing along. They wanted to do that? Fine. But not without her. Not when her status was under the tense gaze of the entire clan and the mercy of Bumblebreak's claws.

While she awaited the instructions, her eyes and head lolled around, avoiding stares, avoiding her clanmates. She wanted to pretend she wasn't here, but unfortunately, her anxiety knew otherwise. Her gaze would flitter towards the shadows of the camp, looking out for a familiar silhouette of her closest friend. Hopefully they'd tag along too.

The large warrior would tag along for this, of course! It'd been a while since the territory had a new location, so of course he'd come along for the excitement aspect if nothing else. His gaze would shift to see which of his children were coming along, now that they were all apprentices. Surely, they'd tag along to this.

If needed, he'd prod Frogpaw and sign to him about the excitement going on. He'd even mouth the statements so hopefully his son would start picking up lip reading, it would make his life so much easier. He'd gone missing for some time, so it'd be rough to get him started on communication. Whether Frogpaw wanted to come along or not, was up to him.

An exploration mission? That sounded fun! Of course she wanted to get out of camp and explore a bit. She looked around, before heading over to another apprentice. It was weird that he was wet, it hadn't been raining recently. There had to be a story behind that, but it could wait. "Hey! What do you think it'll be like there?"

Ok so, the less that was said about the sudden loud bickering in the medicine cats den as Mudhound tried (and failed) to get their sister to SOCIALIZE the better. Bumblebreak 1001 Mudhound 5. But Violetfreckle? Different story, she was kidnappable without being bitten.


So Violetfreck had a leaf of burnet shoved down her throat to bolster strength and was OUT THE DOOR, once again draped over Mudhound back like a backpack as the tripod carried her. She was probably good to walk part of the way but that was for later, they were getting out of camp now~


"AAAAAAAAALRIGHTY THUNDERCLAN!!! No Bumble-sis today but I got a Vivivivivi and we're set to go! Follow me aaaaaand Quack-buddy! How about you stick by me today, Ive missed you!"
The two would happily chatter the entire way to the cavern no doubt, a train of thunderclan cats behind them.


The cavern, once they arrived, was just as Mudhound had left it.

In a densely-forested part of the territory, and near a large Twoleg Thunderpath, is Thunderbird Falls. A pair of waterfalls rush down from a short cliff-face and into a small pond that houses fish, frogs, and salamanders. Behind the falls lies a cave, concealed by hanging ivy and covered in layers of thick moss. Stalactites displaying their own layers of vegetation hang down from the ceiling, and drip water into tiny pools beneath, creating a constant sound akin to rainfall. The ground is soft and holds onto pawprints.


As one ventures further in, the rock walls grow narrower, until the only thing that's accessible is a thin tunnel made of a strange material that extends out to the surface on the other side of the Thunderpath. Bats sometimes seek shelter in the cave, and crayfish and other tiny fish can be found within the inner pools.

A far wall at the back stands as a living record of honorable past and present high ranks and hornets from the time of the caves discovery.

Leaving Violetfreckle and Quackpaw off to the side for a moment the tripod leapt onto a large rock and spoke.
"BEHOLD!!!! A cavern! Sooo behind the vineys is a cool cave thats pretty safe for everyone to explore! The waterfalls arent that rough and the pool below is shallow so feel free to play in it! THERES FROGS!!!!! Uuuuuh inside the cave theres bats so watch out, theyre not harmful and edible (I think) but be too loud and one might be a meanie and swoop you which is scary.


In the back back theres a weird tunnel thing thats twoleg made Im pretty sure. Its safe but lets not go in it unless youve got Spidey-dude permission, I think it goes under the thunderpath.


While everyone explores, high ranks and hornets who are here, Imma snag you all to add your paws to the memory wall thing. Anyone who wants to witness and see Wolfhives paw print and us doing this feel free but unless youre a hornet or high rank touchie and I throw you in the pond. Headfirst."
Ok so that last part (threat) was proooobably a bit odd but this was kinda emotionally important to Mudhound so if anyone tried to mess with the wall they'd loose it, so despite the smile on their face and cheer in their words the promise was dead serious.


"Everyone be free and explore our new cool spot! After Im done with the wall Ill call anyone who's interested in flower crowns and we can do that~ YAY!!!"
How fun! Hey maybe Vivivivivi and Quacky could bond while Muddy was busy, the tripod felt bad (once again) ditching their apprentice. So hopefully the necessary cats gathered quick and followed Mudhound to the wall.
