Being up here was fun until it wasn't. Weepingpaw might have given some serious thoughts to Houndpaw's words had he not been tugged away from his new dad and back to his Mama. Oh no! No, no, no!!! She was mad! Why was she mad? He insulted her? Was it cause he told Crowd... Crowtooth, she was nice. Weepingpaw immediately leaped off the stone after Mistlewhisker told him and Houndpaw to get down, leaving his shell and mistle behind. He was listening, he was being good, he wouldn't go up ever again, not even if he was invited.
A whole family? She wasn't making sense?! He was trying super hard to follow along and understand what wrong he had committed, so he knew how to make amends, but nothing she was yelling at him for was making sense. Weepingpaw couldn't even get outraged like Houndpaw, cause something inside hurt really super badly. Tears came as if his pain had at last condensed into a deluge of rain. The tears made him feel worse cause he had promised Momster he wouldn't cry so much. He tried to hold them back, but the stinging sensation became too much, and they started trickling out, rolling down his cheek and chin in big, fat drops, and splashing into the sand.
Did he break a rule? No friend, no mate, no secrets. Were you not supposed to find dads? Was that it? But why would that insult her or the family? While Weepingpaw searched his brain for some solution, silently sobbing and tucking his tail between his legs, Bite came up, and boy was he mad too.
WHAT DID HE DO????? He'd clean the elders' den and every den in the camp forever if they just stopped being furious at him and told him what he did wrong. Please, he'd roll on his belly and beg if that's what they want. Tell him what he did so he could try and fix it. But they just kept being upset. The apprentice was trembling as his mentor started yowling at Houndpaw for whatever. His head was ducked so low his chin left an indent in the wet sand filled with tears. The added rejection he caught from Crowtooth was the final straw.
No one could hear, see, or feel it, but something broke inside Weepingpaw; the internal pain was so bad it made him bleed an ocean of tears. He didn't understand what he did wrong, why no one wanted to be his dad, and why his parental figures seemingly hated him. But it was his fault; they were upset, and even Houndpaw was getting yowled because of him. Weepingpaw's head was pounding, his nose was clogged with ick, and his tears were so bad that even when he tried to seek out Dawnstar, he barely saw her through tears obscuring his sight. Momster always told him what he was doing wrong when he annoyed her. But if she was mad at him for breaking his promise not to cry....
Feeling thoroughly scolded, rejected, and hated, the sensitive soul muttered the meekest, probably unheard, apology, turned tail, and ran while his mentor's back was turned. He was going home, he was being bad, and didn't deserve to be here, so he was going home. He didn't have time to grumble apologetically to any cat he bumped into. He found the nearest patch of shadows and dove into the darkness' cold embrace, practically melting into the night, leaving the gathering behind.
[Weepingpaw has exited the Gathering. I checked with Taker, who said it's fine if Weeping leaves early, but will be punished for going without a warrior.]
rookfire felt a bit bad hearing hawkbite scream at houndpaw while he and owlthroat sat chit chatting away but he couldnt really get over to them without causing a scene in any case. and what he did know was no cat liked those that caused trouble. why had he chosen to sit where cats would file in and gather around as the other clans arrived? now they were pretty much stuck in place unless they were looking to climb their way through the crowd at a snails pace.
"i recon his behaviour caught up to him. be that death or exile, it was inevitable" rookfire shrugged like he wasnt still annoyed that wolfpaw had gotten him into trouble. not like he needed someone else to somehow end up on shadowclans most wanted (in the negative sense) list without really doing anything, but it was one of the first bricks placed on the way to where he was now..probably. maybe. man he just didnt know how mistlewhisker and dawnstar operated. they were confusing and unpredictable. owlthroat was safe, he didnt randomly change the way he reacts to things, sleepysunrises constantly shifting mood was irrelevant to consider given there was no threat in her, stars even briarsplash was perfectly regular.
silver eyes briefly skimmed the crowd, not looking for anything in particular and trying to keep the conversation going. this was the first time he wasnt sitting in silence or fighting some cat after all. which was...sort of sad to consider. now, if he could remember owlthroats family members in any way this would be a lot less awkward. "how're your kits? adjusting well to apprentice duties?"
he hadnt seen goldfish in a long time, briefly wondering whatd happened to her when he spotted another vaguely familiar face following spiderstar of all cats. "interesting" the younger enforcer muttered, mostly to himself but without straight up trying to avoid mentioning it to owlthroat. rook didnt care where his former clanmates ended up, it was just mildly surprising thunderclan had taken in a cat older than rookfire that probably still hadnt made it to warrior yet. he didnt have a perfect track record of attending gatherings but he was around frequently enough that he was pretty certain rainpaw was still rainpaw.

He scoffed, it was likely Rookfire was right. There wasn’t much point in arguing it further. He hadn’t had much experience with the healer but he trusted Rookfire’s words at face value. Then again, he didn’t believe anything particularly kind natured about the other clans. He paused at Rookfire’s next question, he hadn’t expected the tom to take an interest. But it was a welcome one, Owlthroat held a lot of pride for his children despite their annoyances. It was always a pleasure to gloat in their stead.
”Hard to keep track of em’ nowadays, but they behave themselves for the most part.” He grumped a smile playing on his maw. ”Wish they’d spend more time with me, but don’t we all. I’m not bothering chasing them around.” There was more he wanted to say of course, but he hadn’t quite reached that level yet with Rookfire. Not quite close enough to spill all, but his hinting was the start of it. Opening up slightly, showing he wasn’t quite the big brash mean machine he portrayed himself out to be.
Owlthroat raised an eyebrow at Rookfire’s brief comment. He followed his gaze, but couldn’t quite get what had ruffled his fur. His head tipped curiously towards Rookfire, if he chose to share that would be his initiative, but he wasn’t all that fussed.
Starrypaw blushed under her fur, from cheek to cheek. She considered herself lucky to have fur all over her face, before remembering she had now a brand new scar right on her left eye. Oh.. great..."S-sorry Rainstreak." She was terrible at remembering names, but she didn't want to linger too much on it right now.

What she heard next, or the way it was spelled, definitely left a bad mark in her memory. She flinched, evident disappointment now visible in her blue sea eyes.
She couldn't tell herself exactly why, but her intuition... it told her this cat wasn't glad at all to have her on his way.

"So, uhm... how are things in Thunderclan?" She decided to dare. "I see Bumblestar has now stepped-... Oh, sorry!" She widened her eyes and withdrew a little bit, realizing only late that the reason Bumblestar wasn't here was not probably the one she was mentioning earlier. "I'm sorry- she mumbled quickly, "I just saw Spiderthroat with a new cat at his heels and... I didn't think.. Sorry."

Ack! He couldn’t wait. He hadn’t remembered how excited he had truly been upon the news of entering his first ever Gathering. Yay!! The apprentice nods to Primroseadder, green eyes blinking at his pops aswell. ”Yes, mama,” he purrs quietly, his head momentarily lifting in search of his mentor. There wasn’t really any information he knew that could spill out of his mouth, anyways. But he still shivered slightly at the thought of getting told off. The apprentice trails off a few pawsteps, the toms paws shaking slightly at the thought of meeting new cats.

Fawnpaws black fur softens under her tongue, the feline following after the group of Riverclan cats swiftly. Her blue eyes flit to the walking cats, the apprentice whispering to herself reassuringly. She should be able to make some friends. Even though she’ll have to socialise. That was a slightly harder part, sometimes even boring if the cat didn’t like you back. Anyways! Back to reality.
Ack. They were here, and seemingly last. The apprentice searches for a place to sit, maybe somewhere where a cat may approach her.
