Hello all! I have spent the last day or so creating a site for all of my character information, which brings me to the most exciting reward of (that long and painful process) site creation; Drum roll... my first finder! I've taken light inspiration from other finders, so without further ado!
ShadowClan's very own Elkmane
- The pragmatic and observant.
- (0/1) Apprentice
Elkmane would be an incredibly tough and involved mentor, he would train hard and often. Would need an apprentice who will be able to take harsh criticism.
- (0/1) Best Friend
Elk would enjoy becoming friends with a warrior as committed to perfectionism as he is. Someone willing to spar to refine skills, patrol, and give feedback on hunting technique. He struggles to connect, but it would be nice to see him link to one cat.
- (0/2) Siblings
I would love for Elk to have a close relationship with 1 or 2 siblings. Cats, he can potentially spend time training with or sharing tongues. He will find comfort with his siblings and a refuge from his traditional nature.
- (0/1) Former love interest
Elkmane has not explored much when it comes to romantic exploration. He remains primarily focused on his work, however, I'd enjoy creating a plot that surrounds a former love interest that didn't pan out. Whether or not they had kits, if the split was a misunderstanding- if there is redemption?

I'm not looking for any specific forms or anything, but a character site would be greatly appreciated, or a space for me to compare biographies and determine compatibility. I would love to start interacting as soon as possible, so I am happy to start posts as soon as we can agree on our characters' relationship to each other!

Hello! I think you are right, reading over her bio, I can see how they'd get along on a few specific areas! It could be a curious interaction between them that I am curious to explore.
Once (hopefully) Red is accepted, I think it would be awesome for Elk to give her a territory tour. Maybe help her get acquainted if you don't have anyone else set up to do so.
Okay hear me out! I offer to you Embercloud as a love interest! She’s kind-hearted, maternal, and naïve. Ember is easily manipulated by others because she’s the type to only see the good in them. I would like for her mate to be someone who can help her find balance with this, and help her be more discerning or be there to back her up at least to keep her from falling for tricks. She has a poor relationship with her mother, currently an NPC, due to a lifetime of emotional torment and manipulation. Her father (also an NPC) is a kind-hearted and gentle tom, who never put her mother on her place.
Embercloud’s greatest wish in life was to be a mother. She has one litter current from her NPC mate Hickoryeyes, who died shortly after they became mates defending the ShadowClan border from intruders. Due to health complications during her pregnancy, one of her kits (Rosemarykit) was born without a leg and she had two stillborns. This shattered her soul, but she loves her kits with everything she has regardless. She also has an adopted daughter, Midnightclaw, who was her former apprentice. During training, due to Embercloud’s strongly maternal nature, they became close and she adopted Midnightclaw. Her brother Frostedheart (RPed by @crow.) is also a very trusted and treasured figure in her life, and he’s liable to be more protective about her.
As a warrior, she spent a lot of her free time tending to the kits and helping the queens. Now that she is one, she has a difficult time sitting still and accepting help or attention from other warriors doing the same.
I think Embercloud’s softness, patience, and overall kindness would be a good balance for him. She would be able to help explain to him why it’s important to use his words, and help him learn how to. However, as her first mate was more of a “whirlwind” type of romance, where she accepted him mostly because she didn’t know what else to do (and didn’t think anyone else would offer her what she wanted - love and motherhood), this would likely be a slower burn.
Throwing Newtbelly in as a potential best friend!!
They'd probably have to build a friendship now, as warriors, as opposed to off screening a past one, simply due to Newt's personality being all "ooo look at me, I'm so lonely and brooding" haha
But if they're around the same age, they might have been apprentices together!

Though it may not be obvious, Newtbelly is naïve. He wants nothing more to impress and gain the respect of his superiors, who he believes could never step a paw wrong. This causes him to be very easily controlled by high ranks, or those he respects, instantly taking their word as law. Even if he has his own opinion on a situation, he'll push it to the side if one of these cats tells him it's wrong. After all, they know best.
Arrogant
This partially comes from his own obsession with authority. He won't tolerate mouthy apprentices, or new warriors who think they can 'oppose' him (how he'd put it, not me!)
Ambitious
Newtbelly seeks respect. He craves it, more than anything. But, such a thing isn't easy - especially in a clan absolutely riddled with ambition. He doesn't seek a high rank, and can't imagine anything worse than having one - too many eyes on him. His goal had been to become an enforcer, and he achieved it (which he still can't quite believe). He'd always believed the role would instantly grant him respect, but oh how wrong he was.
Maybe this is more eager to please, than arrogant, now that I think about it? Though, in Newtbelly's head, it's ambition.
I shan't go into all the whys and hows/ throw his whole backstory at you LOL - but essentially, he seeks to prove to himself that he can be a respected and powerful cat of ShadowClan, without ever wanting to quit or slow down.

It's funny, I was just looking at the Enforcer challenge! I think this would be a really awesome matchup between these two. Elk has that careless part of himself that is pragmatic and thought-driven, I could also see Newtbelly's "ambition" rub off on him in a fantastic way!
Would love to get them started right around now, off-screen I find can be a little spotty!

It could even be just repeated short interactions at first, like bringing food to the queens and she happens to be the one to accept a few times and they exchange small pleasantries a few times. Then as the kits are older they interact more often?

Awesome! I think that works out perfectly. As Ember is needed less and less in the nursery, I think their interactions can ramp up a bit more. For now I think it's within his nature to drop off food or nest supplies, if she has something specific she wants done to the nest he can always spend time trying to fix it for her which puts them into a space to speak. Elk is quite pragmatic and unemotional, I imagine it might be like pulling teeth the first time they chat!
