"....Er, j-just checkin' in. 'Cause of your paw. S'bleeding...you might, uh. Should pro-obably keep it clean, yeah?" He gestures vaguely with his own paw. That Shatteredpaw is clearly unbothered is good, and probably to be expected over such a teeny wound, but it's also got him second-guessing whether it was even worth it to ask. He quickly decides that it was. It'll always be worth it to ask his denmates these things.

"You uh." He clears his throat, squinting skeptically at the pale apprentice. "You...look—" Kinda beat up, is the rest of that sentence, but he diligently bites it off and holds his tongue because that's rude. If he's going to check in with someone then he knows he should try to do so with a little bit of tact.

"Tired. Y'look tired. Um. H-How's training goin'?"

Her paw..? Eh? The curly-furred apprentice looked down, and the bright red stain on her white coat jumped out to her immediately. Shattered paw lifted it up to look, an expression of mild interest on her face. Hm. "Not bleeding. Just stained." She said coldly, putting it back down. She flicked her ear, a blood droplet flying off it. Must be her ear with the wound. Not that she cared.

'Tired? I do not look TIRED.' Shatteredpaw eyed Mosquitopaw coldly, hazel eyes glinting an icy blue as their gaze roamed over his pelt. "If anyone looks tired, it's you. You look like your pelt hasn't seen sunlight for a week." The apprentice scoffed, turning their head away again. At his question, Shatteredpaw burst into laughter. High, and insane. "Training? Hah! Mentor is useless, and hasn't taught me anything. I've finally convinced another stupid warrior to train me, so I'll be doing that later." Cold, deathly silent pause. "What about you?" Shatteredpaw manages, forcing the question out of her mouth. She didn't like how... nice they sounded. Bah.

"...Oh." He doesn't believe her. He doesn't know a kind way to say it. "Sooo. D-Definitely need to make sure you're, uh, cleaning. It. Yourself, cl-cleaning yourself, I mean. Not that you're dirty. Uh." As it so happens, the longer he's looking at Shatteredpaw, the bloodier she seems. Her ear, for instance. Mosquitopw's mouth opens and closes wordlessly around a few failed attempts to softly encourage a bit of mindfulness and self-care.

And then they...hm. Insult him? Is that what that is? It hadn't been a very hurtful remark, but their attitude was icy enough that he couldn't imagine it had been intended kindly, and it only seems to worsen with that manic laugh. A very large part of him is entertained. This is the part that stares at Shatteredpaw like one might stare an interesting bug wriggling on the ground.

The rest of him, though...the rest is not very impressed by their attitude, but he's determined to remain gentle about it. He ignores the maybe-unkind remark. He will not reward bad behavior with a reaction.

"Uh. So. I'm worried about you bec–hhh. Because yo-you're my denmate 'nd you're covered. Uh. Well, I-I mean, you're a li'l...bloody-looking. And. I-If you don't mind that th—then that's. Cool, I guess. But. Um, y-you shouldn't ju—ust sit a-around bleedin'. 'Cause....uh, 'cause it's. I-It's not? Good? F-For you? S'a bad habit. And it's...you're...a mess. S'all I meant." He figures he might as well make himself abundantly clear, no more beating around the bush with this 'wuhh you look TIRED, dude' nonsense. Per his own convictions, he doesn't sound impatient or snappish; just concerned.

"M'sorry to hear about you—, uh, your mentor though. Probably shh...houldn't, uh, call whoever is tra-aining you, um. Stupid, though. It's...not, uh. It's really not smart." It isn't kind or respectful either, but somehow Mosquitopaw thinks that maybe Shatteredpaw doesn't really mind that. "M-Mine...mm. Mudslide's—good. Training's g-going real good." Alright, maybe a smidge disingenuous of him, but he's trying to model kindness. Or, something. His brief irritation with Shatteredpaw's behavior has led him to lean wholeheartedly in the opposite direction: mild, pleasant, conversational. "Um, I really. R-Really like climbing. D'you know what you like?"

huge chocolate brown tom with darker brown markings that go down his back and limbs; lighter brown underbelly and chest. has a striped tail and small, tufted ears with round, blazing golden eyes. has thick fluffy fur and a raccoon-like striped tail. he has a single tooth that overlaps his bottom lip and is commonly covered in mud. he is missing half of his right ear; smells like dirt & wood. struggles with a stutter. ⋆｡˚ ☁︎ ˚｡⋆｡˚☽˚｡⋆

⊱ ۫ ׅ ✧ He was DYING of boredom. It was sapping away his energy and he could feel himself slowly becoming a slug. Unable to sit still no longer, the apprentice decided it was time to harass his sleeping siblings. And well, anyone else within the apprentice’s den but he had a specific target.

Houndpaw crept in silently, carrying two mossballs in his mouth and rolling two more. Golden irises scanned the den. The sun was beginning to set which meant mostly everyone was exhausted. A perfect opportunity. Their guards were down!

Without wasting a second thought, the apprentice flung a mossball at Emberpaw’s head. “AMBUSH!!!!” He howled, and started to grab on another mossball to fling at someone sleeping. WHACK! WHACK! His tail wagged back and forth with excitement, biting down on his third mossball and throwing it into the den without a clear target. He wanted WAR!!!!!!!

He would throw the last mossball into the void and with his attack initiated, Houndpaw grabbed onto someone’s random empty nest to use as a shield.

[ his main targets are his family members but y'all are not obligated to respond to him being a nuisance! additionally OPEN for any other apprentices to join in and/or yell at him for waking them up lol ]
