Owlthroat peeked his head into the apprentice den, hopeful that Grubpaw was somewhere here. ”Grubpaw, training.” His voice remained cool but not unfriendly, he was interested to see what the youngster’s first choice would be.

Grubpaw heard bug's mentor outside and got up, stretching each of bug's legs out in turn. First day of training.
Bug was rather excited. Slipping out of the den, Grubpaw came face to face with the big white and black Enforcer.
"If bug is able, bug would like to hunt first." Bug mewed, eyes blinking slowly at the older tom; wide and somewhat freaky.

Starclan this kid was freaky. Hunting it was then. Owlthroat nodded and beckoned Grubpaw with a flicker of his tail to follow, trailing out into the territory. Once they’d ventured a decent way out Owlthroat turned to face the youngster. ”So, what have you learnt so far regarding hunting? Or will I need to start from scratch?” His head tilted to one side as he asked the question.
It surprisingly wasn’t often that he taught hunting, not his favourite thing of course. But it did make a welcome break from his usual teaching practices.

Bug would follow bug's mentor into the woods, stopping and sitting down on bug's haunches when Owlthroat faced bug. Licking his paw and drawing it over bug's ears, grub would then speak. "Bug hasn't done much. Mostly just the normal kitten stuff, like practicing the crouch." Grubpaw mewed, gazing at bug's mentor.

Owlthroat nodded, knowing nothing wasn’t a massive issue. His tail flickered and he sat down himself, beginning the lesson. ”We’ll start fresh then, first you must make sure that the prey doesn’t smell you. You want to stay downwind where possible. A swift firm bite to the neck should kill just about anything.” He grumped.
”I want you to practise your crouch first and copy me.” He raised and shook out his fur. Lowering his body down, spreading out all four paws to distribute his weight. His hind end only slightly higher than the rest of his body as he waited for Grubpaw to copy.
