Spottedclaw kept ramming into the fort until it finally falls

Fogmask backed away as the fort collapsed, avoiding the small amount of debris that came his way. He jumped to the shore and continued up to the bank near Spottedclaw.

"That was fun!" He purred, shaking out his muddy fur before grooming his face. He would need to find some clean water to wade in later for most of the mud, but he was glad to be cooled off for now.

"Just a second." Fogmask nodded to Spottedclaw and rushed off for a quick splash upriver to make his fur "groom-able". "Ok, now I'm ready to head back." He purred. This was fun! He enjoyed himself.

"Thank you, Aspenpaw. That's right, everything's fine now," Floodsight replied with a small smile, hiding away any pain from nightmares or terrible thoughts those moons would bring. It wasn't something pleasant to talk about, nor is unbundling it all onto an apprentice the right choice. Instead, she held her head up high and brought herself back into reality. Back to the cool, damp forest and running streams where she'd belonged. Not in those nightmares that felt like a rocky ocean wave, but on solid ground. Reality.

The silver she-cat had made her way downstreams, towards a calmer part of the stream and beckon Aspenpaw to come over. "Sit here where the water's calmer. Riverclan river are generally calmer than the mountains, but they can still flow and change. "

"New-leaf bound to bring new fish into the rivers. Tiny, but they are there if you look closely." Floodsight started and her voice automatically changed from conversational to much more educational. Her stormy eyes scanned the waters for sign of fish swimming about and luckily, there were a few. "There's no stalking to fishing, but you'll still have to be careful in some ways. For one, your shadow. Careful where it casts on the the river and be still when observing the river."

"The fish can see jitters in your movement and they'll act together. Scare one and you'll scare the rest. It's akin to hunting on land, except you aren't chasing the prey. Rather- you are waiting for the correct moment to capture them when they stray too close." She finished up, before turning to Aspenpaw with a tilted head. "Questions? Or shall we get started?"

Aspenpaw followed his former mentor down the river till they reached a spot where the waters were calmer. Aspenpaw sat down and watched the tiny shadows beneath the water's surface swim past. His eyes didn't leave the water but he was listening to what Floodsight had to say.

Floodsight then told him the basics, hunting fish was not the same as hunting land prey or birds. There was no sneakiness. Well not really, no stalking. All you had to do was wait for a fish to swim by close enough for you to catch. Only thing he had to remember was to not let his shadow fall across the river and alert the fish of his presence. ”mk! So if I catch one wouldn't that scare the rest of them away? If so, how would you catch more if they are all gone?? And I've seen some cats fish while standing in the river. Is there a method to that too??”

He asked, tilting his head and then looking from the river back to Floodsight. ”Uh we can fish now!”
