Beechray ♣ She / Her ♣ Thunderclan warrior

It was late... perhaps a little later than it should have been, but Beechray couldn't sleep, she was too excited. This was it... the final thing Buggy needed. Beechray hummed softly as she padded toward the apprentices' den, poking her head into the den, her gaze swept over familiar and unfamiliar pelts, eventually landing on Mantispaw. Stars she was so pretty when she slept, she felt her heart racing and her face heating up. She made her feel so happy and safe and it was... nice. Clouded also made her feel that way... she wasn't entirely sure what that meant but she also wasn't complaining, perhaps she'd have to talk to him later too.

She took a deep breath before quietly padding into the den and up "Bug, it's time for your assessment" Beechray said into Mantispaw's ear in a hushed tone as to not wake any other apprentices. She stepped back, carefully making sure not to step on any stray paws, tails or nosed, staring down at her former denmate and bestfriend.

"My head's in the clouds but i don't feel close to the sun."

She was getting used to waking up, seeing Beech in her face. "Morning'." She yawned. But her eyes lite up at the word assessment. "Perfect!" She immediately sprung up and smiled. "I'm ready as I'll ever be!" She giggled. @seeingstars

She nodded "Wanna eat before we go? It's- kinda late so I don't mind waiting a little" Beech said with a nervous laugh before exiting the den, waiting for Mantispaw outside. If Mantispaw was a bit hungry she'd suggest they share something...

Then maybe she could finally be close enough to confess to her best friend, something she'd repeat during her other friend's assessment as well. She smiled, watching the den entrance silently.

Mantispaw smiled. "Perfect! I am getting pretty hungry." She usually skipped meals because of no appetite. But she was hungry and actually wanted to eat so that was great! She followed BeechRay outside with a smile on her face. @seeingstars

Beechray nodded padding toward the fresh-kill pile "Wanna share this fat squirrel? Haven't ever seen one this big!" She said with a giggle, looking toward Mantispaw.

She felt her breath catch in her throat as she looked on at her former denmate. She missed those days... the warm days of their nest sharing. It was amazing during leaf-bare when it was coldest, but now Beech was in the warriors' den, alone. Soon that would change though. She thought to herself as she waited for Mantispaw's response.

Mantispaw

Mantispaw followed right alongside BeechRay. "Sure! Looks pretty delicious! I definitely couldn't finish it by myself." Her mouth watered as she looked at the squirrel. This would fill her for awhile. "Is there a certain spot you wanna sit at? I don't have a favorite place to sit and eat." She offered a warm smile to Beechray. @seeingstars [sorry for all of the mention lmaooo]

Beechray hummed softly in thought "Well- I don't have a favourite spot... but I know a good spot!" She made her way toward a spot near the warriors' den before looking back at Mantispaw.

"This spot blocks us from the wind, it'll be nice and cozy!" She said with a giggle, settling in before patting the spot beside herself with her paw "C'mere!" She said, purring loudly. The golden pointed she-cat wrapped her tail neatly around herself as she looked toward Mantispaw, an affectionate smile plastered on her maw.

She set the squirrel down and took a bite before pushing it toward where she'd motioned for Mantis to sit.

Mantispaw smiled as she followed close behind Beechray. The place Beech picked was perfect! "Alright!" She went over and sat next to her more than friend.

She took a bite of the squirrel after Beechray did. It was delicious!" She pushed it back to Beechray. @seeingstars

After some casual small talk they finished their snack. Beechray disposed of the remains then cleared her throat "We'll go out into the territory to do the combat part of your assessment, then we'll do the hunting part after on the way back to camp, sound good?" Beech asked, tilting her head as she looked on at her totally just bestie.
