It was late, like really really late. Later than Beechray had meant for it to get, but there was no time than the present to drop a surprise assessment on Cloudedpaw.

The warrior quietly crept into the apprentices' den. They gaze scanning the dark den for a moment before they finally caught the sight of his familiar grey fur. A purr escaped her maw as she carefully stepped over sleeping apprentices to make her way over to him. She gently touched her nose to his cheek.

"Hey Cloudy, it's time for your assessment" She whispered softly into her ear "Meet me at the fresh-kill pile, we can have a bite to eat before we head out if you'd like" Beech said with a nod before exiting the den and sitting beside the fresh-kill pile.

Cloudedpaw woke. But this time, it wasn't Beech nagging him about training. It was Beech nagging him about his assessment! He jumped to his paws, a grin spreading across his maw. It is? Already? Finally! He could have done a dance right then and there, but that would probably be embarrassing.

"You hungry or naw?" They asked , though more direct. Beech tilted her head curiously a smile still plastered on their face though. She hoped she didn't come across as rude.

"I'm fine whether we eat or not! there's no rush on your assessment, it can start and end at any time" Beechray said with a casual shrug, her tail gently swaying across the ground.

Cloudedpaw grinned, shaking his head. I'll eat later! You could eat now, though. He exclaimed, his heart racing with excitement. It's my assessment! He repeated, his dark amber hues shining.

Beechray shook her head "Naw! I don't mind waitin'! We can share something after you pass!" She teased sticking her tongue out.

"I was thinking we'd start with some combat, then hunting on the way back to camp, sound good?" The Thunderclan warrior asked tilting her head curiously "If you wanna do it the other way around that's cool too-" She said, brows furrowed for a moment.

"Oooh, ya know, I'll be around" She said with a grin and a wink. The golden pointed she-cat let out a giggle as she nudged his cheek with her nose. In reality? She'd be following him around, maybe she'd hunt a little herself but otherwise she'd be watching his form, pounce and kills.

"I know a great place for us to practice the combat where no one can see or mess us up! Would hate to be assessing your combat and have a kit get squished under paws!" She said with a laugh before darting out of camp, only slowing once out of ear shot.

Beechray glanced back, making sure Cloudedpaw was following, her face was warm as her gaze fell on his, stars he was pretty. She shook her head and swallowed, shut up, shut up, shut up! She screamed at herself mentally.

Cloudedpaw chuckled, but looked at his paws. He couldn't look into Beechray's eyes without his cheeks heating up. Alright. Shall I start? He murmured, his breath catching in his throat.

"Yuppers! Follow me!" she took off in a random direction in the territory, shooting up a tree and waiting and watching. She silently pressed herself to the branch in an attempt to keep herself hidden.

Her plan was to jump onto his back once he was close enough, and if successful and fast enough she'd attempt to gently bop him on the head then roll off. This could however be stopped by him simply dropping and rolling on top of her.

Cloudedpaw nodded, shaking out his pelt before following after Beechray. As he got closer to her, he felt her jump onto his back. [ rolls an 18 ]. He flattened himself to the ground, rolling out of the way before she could do anything else. The tom spun around, lunging forward to try and bang into Beech with his shoulder.
